Baker Street is a lovingly restored 1914 craftsman-style home with 4 bedrooms and 5 baths. We call it LeGrande Chateau. It is decorated with fine antiques and collectibles. We invite you to relax in casual elegance while you enjoy a glass of wine or have a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea in our parlor. In clement weather, you might prefer to sit on our front porch as you watch the world go by. Or you can adjourn to our large second-story deck out back to have a BBQ with friends, read a good book or have a quiet conversation with your partner.

Baker Street Inn was the perfect place for our stay in McMinnville. This older classic home has a wonderful Bed and Breakfast style with each bedroom having its own private bath, coffee maker, and small refrigerator. We rented the home while attending our daughter’s graduation and we were joined by parents, brothers, and their families. We all had our individual space but enjoyed our meals together around the spacious table in the formal dining room. The kitchen is well stocked and feels like you are cooking in your own kitchen and we found the living room to be a comfortable place to gather and spend time sharing our adventures of the day. We walked to downtown (two blocks away), to the Saturday Market, Linfield campus, a car show, and a wonderful park just around the corner. When we weren’t out enjoying this quaint and lively town, we spent much of our time hanging around the house and enjoying the activity from the front porch or relaxing on the back deck. The owners were great to work with and we will definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

The home worked great for our family gathering. Its a big old beautiful home and the location is fantastic. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. A suggestion for the kitchen is a big pot for boiling water for pasta. It there is one we couldn't find it. The only complaints from are group are the house is on a busy/noisy street, the house is overflowing with bookshelves, furniture, collectables/nick nacks, etc., and its a bit dark even with lights on. It is a beautiful home and great for a family get together. We would stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

The accommodation provided was delightful - clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The owner was friendly, professional, and very easy to deal with. The location was perfect for my other activities, and was exactly what I was told it would be. I have already recommended it to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Pros 1) Comfortable bed 2) Washer and Dryer 3) Excellent location walking distance to downtown 4) Bathrooms in every bedroom 5) Internet access Cons 1) Dust everywhere inside the home 2) Shrubs around home needed trimmed 3) Stuff piled everywhere including on front porch 4) Washer and Dryer located at the middle stairway landing 5) Oven needed needs cleaning 6) Food past expiration date left from past guests still in refrigerator. 7) Home very dark even with all lights on 8) Claw footed bath tubs converted to showers with no handrails to climb in an out of tub 9) Old CRT TVs with basic cable 10) 10” TVs in bedroom made trying to watch TV miserable 11) Toilets where not ADA approved. 12) Hard to find electrical outlets not used. 13) Dishwasher would not clean anything with food left on them. 14) Refrigerator was very noisy while running 15) The living room furniture was so, bad we needed extra pillows just to have a seat and be comfortable. The home was in a great location two blocks from the center of McMinville wine tasting could be had by my whole family since; no one had to be the designated driver. When pulling up to the home you notice it is located on a one way street, the front yard had overgrown shrubs and trees, the house presented as well as a haunted home on Halloween. After gaining access and turning on a few lights the inside never became warm and inviting. The home was presented on the website as restored. The kitchen was the only room restored in the home and from the looks this restoration was done several years ago. None of my family would recommend renting this home at any price. We will be back to McMinville but, will never return to the Baker Street House B&B / Home for rent.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: We are proud of Baker Street and the unique way it allows guests to experience McMinnville in the heart of Oregon's wine country. We know that it it can't suit everyone, yet we are still sorry that any guest is ever unhappy. For over 20 years, we've had countless guests who are fond of the warmth and comfort of our home and who return repeatedly. This particular litany of faults with our home was especially perplexing, since the guests stated after having settled in, that everything was fine. I dusted the day before they arrived and because we thoroughly clean between each guest, I just can’t understand the comment about "Dust everywhere…” Had they called and pointed out a problem, anytime during their week-long stay, I would have been happy to re-dust (or even to vacuum) again. Or, we could have helped them to find an alternate placement, more suited to their requirements. This is who we are and what we do. Customer service is at the very heart of our business. Thanks to all of our loyal customers who let us know what we are doing right.

Cleaning fees $75-150+ dependent on number of occupants and length of stay. Weekly maid service can be arranged. $150 fully refundable security deposit.
