Fully renovated family homestead with 6 bedrooms, 3 baths, complete kitchen, dining room and living room. Overlooks horse farm with Camel's Hump framed in the distance. Minutes from Burlington, yet situated on family farm with the all the beauty that Vermont offers.
WE had a terrific time at the Ross home where we stayed for 3 nights to attend our daughter's graduation from UVM. The house is spacious, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. We had 10 family members stay. We had a barbeque one night and the ten of us helped cook in the kitchen, which had everything we needed and easily accomodated us all. We spent our mornings sitting outside overlooking the horse farm and in the evening had a cozy fire in the wood stove.
Just a short drive, from Shelburne, we had dinner at the Inn one night. We drove back and forth multiple times to Burlington, a short and pleasant 15 to 20 minute trip.
A really wonderful house in a great location. Peter kept in communication prior to our visit and everything was in order before we arrived. I had no need to contact him during our stay.

Year Purchased: 1965
About the owner: The Ross family has owned Taproot since 1965. Taproot was operated as has a Morgan Horse farm for 40 years and managed by Charlie and Charlotte Ross and their children. Today, Taproot is approximately 240 acres of woodland, hayfields, pastures with Fell-Valley Stables located in the horsebarns, The Family Farmstand (raw milk) in the old dairy barns along with Queen City Landscape (stonewalls), and Red Wagon Plants (whole and retail greenhouses) located just off of Shelburne Falls Road.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Iroquois: Vermont has been home to generations of Rosses. When Charlie and Charlotte purchased Taproot in 1965, they were anxious to return to Vermont having worked Washington, DC in the 60s. Little did they know that they ancestors once owned the property before. Today, the eighth generation of Rosses remain committed to stewarding the land for future generations of Vermonter to enjoy.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Today when we return to Taproot, the beauty of Vermont permeates the land and the house. The choices are endless ranging from a walk on the land, watching the sun rise with a freshly brewed cup of coffee or a glass of juice, reading a good book snuggled up on the couch, or enjoying a family dinner at the day's end.
