We were in town for a college graduation and this property was perfect for our family. As each family (3) were coming from different locations around the US. This gave us the opportunity to stay together and hang out more. Plus the savings in food since we didn't have to eat out every meal was amazing. The house was large enough for 8 total people. The yard is great for kids playing and doing nature walks. Location is perfect from Duluth and the other attractions. Easy to work with the owners. Saving this to my favorites for future stays.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was the second visit and there will definitely be more. The property is secluded yet just a short drive to many sites. Our fave is the beach at Park Point. Love the peaceful surroundings. My niece (4) and really all of us enjoyed watching the deer right off the back deck each evening. As I'v said before, this is by far the cleanest place my family and I have rented. The kitchen has everything and more that one could need. The added bed in the downstairs room is a big plus. The 4 yr. couldn't wait to try out "her new bed". Micheal is so very helpful with any questions you have. I would definitely recommend this property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

In 2011 and again in 2012, our children, grandchildren and we enjoyed a long weekend stay at Duluth North Shore Cabin Rental; we hope to do it again next year. This is a great place for a multi-generational gathering--the bedrooms are large enough to accomodate 9 of us--6 adults & 3 little ones-- and the house is spacious enough to feel comfortable together, not crowded. The kitchen is fully equipped with every item we needed. We have enjoyed the quiet and privacy of the site. It's a short drive to Brighton Beach (now called Kitchee Gammi Park?) and that's a favorite spot for us. It's also an easy drive to Split Rock and Gooseberry State Parks, and, of course, so close to Duluth. An ideal place for us, I feel if I recommend it too highly we'll have a harder time booking next time. But I will do it anyway. It's a great place to stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children.

We visited right after the floods and expected to tolerate some major inconveniences, but we only had to deal with a few feet of pulled up carpet and a damp odor for a day. They obviously are quick to respond and to keep the cottage comfortable. The cottage is very private and remote, yet a short drive to the grocery store, North Shore, and other activities. Our children range in age from 4 to 12,so it is sometimes hard to plan a vacation that appeals to all, but Duluth fit the bill. My only complaint is now my kids (and hubby) think we need to get our own Atari ;)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had a group of 5 adults (two couples and one single) and this house accommodated us perfectly. The owner was excellent to work with from the time we made the reservation through the time he sent our deposit back. I felt he was very flexible and went out of his way to ensure we had a positive experience. Not your normal policy this, policy that and that was really refreshing. In addition, the person he had managing property was excellent. It snowed over a foot during our two day stay and they were right on the plowing and gave us a call to ensure everything was going well for us and asked if we needed anything. The house was clean upon arrival and had plenty of space for us all to feel comfortable in. The house is right in the middle of the woods, so it was beautiful. Large pines all around and the fact that is snowed so much made it magical. This is a great location (15-20 min from Duluth or Two Harbors) and very private. I know it would also be a great summer place to rent since they have an outdoor firepit and plenty of land to walk around and take in the northwoods fresh air. I would recommend this house to anyone. Overall, the house was well maintained, spacious, the photos were an accurate representation, and the owner was great.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This place was so peaceful and relaxing. Needs a little TLC on the outside (don't let that scare you away) because inside was great!! Lots of remodeling and updates. Plenty of room for the 7 adults and 2 children. A kitchen that had everything one would need. This had to have been the cleanest place we've ever stayed. Just a couple minutes off #61 and such peaceful surroundings. A quick (15 min.) drive to Canal Park and the beautiful beaches on Park Point. Another short drive to Two Harbors and so many scenic places to pull over for lunch. Michael was so pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place to others. I know we'll be going back!! Thanks Michael Carla & familyRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.
