A fantastic vacation stay; we could have happily spent 24 hours a day there(but did think we ought to see some sights while we were in the area.) The property perches high above the bay and is surrounded by nature - we woke to the sound of birds each morning and watched them nesting a few yards away. We ate breakfast on the patio overlooking the bay below. Sometimes we would start the day with a swim in the patio level pool. The villa and its furnishings reflect the culture, climate and beauty of the area. A fabulous vacation could be had without ever leaving the property. When we did go out, each excursion was a pleasure - the botanical gardens, the Night of the Iguana beachwalk, the restaurants in Mismaloya (Tony's) and Puerto Vallarta (River Cafe), the visit to Boca de Tomatlan, where we ate at an imformal grill on the beach, walking through Old Town in Puerto Vallarta. I can't wait to return.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This vacation was awesome. The house is so relaxing and huge. We were able to have a private retreat with 9 friends and have lots of privacy. The were many fine details to the house that made the gathering fun. Several alcoves with cushions for us to visit with each other, a pool, a workout room, and a sports court. The decorations were tasteful and appropriate for our festive mood. The kitchen is huge. The photo from the master bedroom matched the property description, I thought it was a stock photo but boy was I wrong. We enjoyed the pool and the marvelous views. Highlights of the house included a house manager who helped getting local contacts for taxi, snorkel, authentic mexican meal, salsa dance lessons at the house. She was so pleasant and cleaned up everyday. Walking to the stables for a morning horse ride was an unexpected treat. Going into the forest to the ridges and swimming at a mountain resort with a restaurant, canopy tour, and refreshing waterfalls. Walking to the beach for a charted snorkel trip was incredible. The guide was able to show us puffer fish, blowfish, starfish, sea cucumber, sea spider, crabs, and sea horses. We also saw jumping dolfins, turtles and rays off the beach. Everyday started with a wake up call from the canopy birds and light peaking into the house. The evening closed with spectacular views of the ocean. This was an impressive first trip to Mexico.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I had the most memorable and relaxing vacation ever. The home I stayed in was amazing: beautiful, fully equipped, great maid service, conveniently located. Our stay at La Casita Dorada was amazing! The house was even more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures. This was far preferable to our family than staying at a hotel. La Casita Dorada is a large luxurious home with the amenities of a hotel, but the feel of real Mexico. I woke up to the sounds of the birds of the jungle, and looked out the window to a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the Mismaloya valley. Then I trapsed down to the gorgeous living room and out to the patio with bar area and pool for morning coffee. Add to that the close proximity of the beach, snorkeling, boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and even ziplining: we had a both relaxing and adventurous vacation. I also enjoyed the relaxing experience of massage on the beach to the sound of the lapping waves at close by Mismaloya beach. We will be back. Our stay at Mismaloya in Casita Dorada this year was exactly what we needed. A chance to get away from everything and enjoy the nature and fantastic weather of Mismaloya. When it was sticky humid in Puerto Vallarta we enjoyed the cool ocean breezes and hills from the patio. The house is secluded with spectacular views , modern and comfortable and lots of space to relax , cook in , or eat out at the funky beach of Mismaloya with all their palapa bars. Good restaurants in the village too especially Juan and Only Tacos ( inexpensive and fresh)and Tonys (more pricey but delicious and great seafood)Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

The house was very beautiful. It had a perfect view of the beach which was nice. Everyone on the beach nearby was very friendly and accommodating to what you need. What an experience to be in a home in lush tropical surroundings near a the beach and ocean! The house has it's own pool and palapa deck. The photos do not do it justice. I was very happy that I was close also to Mismaloya and restaurants as well as Puerto Vallarta for night life.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Other than Zanzibar this is the most romantic retreat I have been in many years of travel. During my stay I managed to completely stop caring about whatever was happening back home, weight off my shoulders. The quiet and seclusion that this villa provides really allows that quality one on one time that is so rare for you and a significant other. There is a beach only 5 minutes walk with the strongest margaritas around, seriously. AND the lush jungle at the door for a nice walk before having dinner and a swim in the pool. Feel at home, no annoying touristy people, relax.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We chose Casita Dorada as our house because it is between civilization and nature. We wanted a spot that was away from the rush of PV and Northshore but close enough to all amenities, attractions , beach and mountains. We like the independent living areas in the house, so we can invite friends and still enjoy privacy.
