We chose Cottage in the Grove as our vacation "base camp" while exploring the Portland area. We couldn't have made a better choice. The cottage is very comfortable and pleasant, and the owners really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our teen loved using the airbed, and made the sun room into a private retreat. The animals are fun to watch, and the birds and flowers are just wonderful. The location is beautiful, and peaceful. We had the best time shopping for local, straight-from-the-farm foods. Also, there are many vineyards nearby. It was easy to make day trips to the magnificent Oregon coast, to Mount Hood, into Portland -- so much to see and do in this area. We just loved our Cottage in the Grove vacation.Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate that you chose to stay at our cottage and hope you decide to return again. So glad you enjoyed your time in Oregon!

The cottage was beautiful and clean. The cottage overlooks a wonderful valley and the views are awesome. On a clear day you can see three mountain peaks from the property. The owners provide many personal touches and the cottage has everything you need to be comfortable. The cabin is about an hour from Portland and we could feel the peacefulness wash over us as we drove out to it. Will stay again when in the area. Thank you Diane.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Even more beautiful than the pictures showed! Warm, cozy, instantly felt like home. Everything we needed was provided. The farm fresh eggs were delicious and the chocolate chip cookies were to die for. Diana was very helpful (even unlocked the door for us when we locked ourselves out) and had put together brochures and pamphlets of the area. We will be returning again. Plans are in the works for a girls getaway yearly at the Cottage in the Grove. Worth every penny and have recommended it to friends already. Great place to stay if you like visiting wineries.Recommended for: Girls getaway.

I visit Oregon quite frequently and am always looking for a great place to stay. I finally found the place I would come back to - perfectly located in the rural part of Oregon, close enough to the ocean to make a day trip and close enough to the city to do the same. I wonderful place to walk from - exploring the countryside animals and wild flowers! Diana was a wonderful host - I can hardly wait to return when there is snow on the ground. Many thanks and would definitely recommend this cottage to want a relaxing time!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

I stayed at the Cottage around Christmas time and was so pleased! The bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and it was very quiet on the property. I loved that it felt like I was camping when I walked out the front door - surrounded by trees and nature. Even the animals were fun to check out. Plus I really appreciate the free wifi!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My wife and I had not had an overnight vacation without our new son since he was born. We have really gotten into "dinner and a movie" dates at different McMenamins throughout Oregon and the 'Grand Lodge' is really close to here. We enjoyed a great night and had a wonderful stay at the Cottage. Its a very nice, cozy cottage with everything you could need. The views are to die for! We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
