Pelican Beach is located directly across from the Big Kahuna Water Park on the beach side of Hwy 98.This is a beautiful two bedroom two bath condo in the heart of Destin. It has great balcony views of the beach and the nearby Destin Harbor. That's where the famous fishing fleet is based and in fact, one of our favorite things to do after a relaxing day on the beach is to visit the docks just as the fishing boats come in with the days catch. Just one of the many fun things to do in the area. The Pelican Beach is a self contained resort in itself with tennis courts, three pools, snack bar/restaurant and conference center, just to mention some of the amenities. Grocerys, restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance and that is a great feature of this location. We didn't forget the beach but everyone knows they are the best in the country and no walking across busy streets to get to the beautiful beach!

That's Don with a shark that was brought in one night when we were down walking the docks, a favorite passtime of ours. We love the area for a lot of reasons. Destin can have the feel of a small fishing village but it has all the action that a vacationer might want as well. We are from the Midwest but have always loved the water, beaches and boating. We both love to spend an afternoon walking on the white sand beach or sharing a cold one at one of the watering holes that overlook the Gulf. Kinda our version of Paradise.
Why the Owner Chose Pelican Beach, The Terrace
We actually chose Destin out of praticality. We can get there in one day's drive from our home in Ohio. A long drive for sure, but a one day trip just the same. We don't like flying any longer, as it is just not worth the hassle most of the time. We also find that even when we go to another part of the Caribbean or even other parts of Florida, we are always comparing our beaches to the ones that we visit. We have been a lot of places and the beaches in Destin are hard to beat. Clean white sand and beautiful clear water. We can walk to restaurants if we want or take a short drive to others. The bar across the parking lot has 22 beers on tap. That's where I go while Michelle is getting ready to go out. A 20oz. pale ale please. It takes me 2 minutes to walk there.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Kids can enjoy any of the three pools of which two are heated. There is even an in an out pool so they can swim in any weather.
Two hot tubs and then the beach is always right at the end of the boardwalk.
We have a large balcony with chairs and a bistro table. One of my favorite things is steaming up a bunch of steamed shrimp from Sexton's or Destin Seafood, and having those on the balcony after a day on the beach. That is hard to beat.
