Location! Location! Location! With immediate access to the Alpine Loop, this cozy 2-bedroom cottage is the perfect getaway in Lake City for a small family. Mom and Dad will enjoy the comfy queen bed in one bedroom, while the kids sleep down the hall with two twin beds.
Located on the 4th of July "Parade Route", this home is close to everything your family could want. Take advantage of the many activities that are literally a stone's throw away...miniature golf, Memorial Park with playground, skate park, and fishing or wading in the river. Just a quick walk away you can enjoy Poker Alice Pizza or the Sportsman's Bar-B-Q. The General Store is nearby, as well, for great souvenirs and general necessities. Don't forget to pick up your fishing license while you're there. Just a short 5-minute walk away is the Historic District of Lake City where more shopping and dining options abound.
Everyone will enjoy the fenced-in back yard with deck. Kids and pets can be playing in the yard while you cook out on the charcoal grill, then later roast marshmallows in the fire pit. The front porch is also a great spot to sit and relax and perhaps see wildlife wander by. Both the front porch and back deck are great spots for bird watching.
The eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with whatever you need to prepare meals for your family. The dishwasher makes clean-up easy to allow more time for your vacation. New granite counter tops have been installed.
After a day of fun in Lake City, or riding on the Alpine Loop, the large newly-renovated shower will welcome you with designer tile and glass doors. If the day turns chilly after sunset, you can curl up to a fire in the fireplace or take advantage of the ceramic propane stove's warm flames.
Because the caretaker for the cottage resides in the guest house on the property, your needs can be met in a timely manner.

This cabin was just perfect for our family. We came up to Lake City to go jeeping and this cabin had a full kitchen for cooking dinner and packing the leftovers up for the next day lunch. We were greeted upon arrival with two deer in the backyard just laying there chillin. The beds were comfy, plenty of blankets and towels. The decor was super cute. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and clean. I was surprised to find cabinets with spices, tea, coffee, and even some canned goods in it for me to use. I would definately stay there again. SUPER CUTERecommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

I've been going to Lake City for 8 years, and this was my favorite cabin so far! Everything we needed was included. Awesome place for pets! My dogs liked to roam the back yard, and I felt safe letting them. One morning, we found a large, but friendly, buck sitting in the back yard. He never flinched! What a cool experience! We rode the loop almost everyday, and at night, we walked to town to eat and hang out. And yes, you can ride straight from the house, either direction...you "might" get stopped, but we didn't and had no problems. Definitely make sure you have your ATV permit to ride! This was the first year I've ever been asked to show it, even though I always buy one. (Get one that is a sticker, or else you will have to tape it on...some businesses have them and some don't.) We saw deer every night, just wandering through town. This house is incredible! Even with 4 adults and 2 kids, we had plenty of room and no problem sharing the bathroom. Nice large deck out back, nice porch on the front. Everything is updated and new! Just a tip...most spices and cooking items are already there, so before you buy those kinds of things, ask the owner. We had plenty of parking space, even with a truck, 18 foot flatbed trailer, and a car. I love this cabin, and fully intend to come back. The price is right, too...no cleaning fee...very fair nightly rates...deposit was returned on time. Don't hesitate to rent here! You'll be glad you did.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We have often traveled to Lake City but always had to leave our 3 cairn terriers behind until we found Scott Cottage. The house is JUST RIGHT!! We loved the darling decor, even better than the pictures. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and relax. Wifi worked great. But best of all, the fenced in back yard was perfect for our active terriers. We would highly recommend this cottage for any couple or small family. Short distance to town or wonderful little hiking trains. Car ride away from more challenging hikes. We don't fish but great trout fishing nearby. Owner and property manager were also terrific. If you like to be near the action but also have a great view of wildlife, this is the place for you.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the Scott Cottage. It really is the perfect place for couples or families with children and pets...shopping, eating, fishing, hiking, the park...so much to do and so close by! So many families are really enjoying this vacation home. We hope to see you again! Dan & Suzie, Stay in Lake City, LLC

We stayed in the cabin for a week and found it to be not only in a great location, but to be a comfortable and homey place to stay. Everything you need is already there. Just bring your clothes and get a few groceries in town and you are set.Recommended for: Pet owners.
Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Scott Cottage! The fenced-in back yard really is perfect for your pets, isn't it? Hope to see you again in Lake City! Dan & Suzie, Stay in Lake City, LLC

Our families vacation stay at the Wampler house in Lake City, CO. was fantastic. The occomodations were exactly how they were represented. This was a beautiful home in great location all bundled up with in a very friendly town with Dan and Suzie topping it off. What great people! We did have to trailer our ATV's to the trail head but this was only a few blocks away. It would have been nice to be able to ride to the trail rather than trailer but that was the rules of the town and we understood that prior to booking our vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.
Owner response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! We enjoyed having you at the Wampler House, which is actually listing #198173. Oops! We're happy you took the time to post a review.
