Ready for your vacation! We updated our riverfront property in April 2011. Private, gated riverfront marina community only 1/3 mile from the bars and restaurants of Folly Beach (12 minute walk). The beach is 15 minute walk or quick bike ride!
This is a unique property within Mariner's Cay at Folly Beach in that it we are offering access a 30' boatslip located just in front of the unit! It has awesome views of the river, looking over the river with views of the sunset nightly from both the main porch and the private balcony upstairs. If you are a boater, it's only a 5 minute boatride to Kiawah Island's north beach which is accessed by boat only!
The unit has been recently updated with new furniture throughout, newly tiled bathrooms, new vanities, kitchen counters and an oak bar that was handmade by a local craftsman that will accommodate several people. We appointed it with modern amenities such as a 46 inch LCD television, home theater sound and Bluray player in the den as well as a 26 inch LCD in the master bedroom. Wireless internet modem is ready for use. We have a DVR, BluRay player, expanded cable, and stereo system with a 'line in' that will allow play through any iPhone, iPod or MP3 player!
The den has a new sleeper sofa which folds out into a full sized bed. Two plush chairs accompany the sofa to make a cozy gathering area for the family or friends.
Step out on the spacious screened porch and enjoy a wicker loveseat and two cushioned chairs and an ottoman for cocktail hour as you watch the sunset to the west nightly over the picturesque Folly River. The marina docks are right in front of the condo for limitless views of boats and the river.
The kitchen has new china, silverware, cookware and cooking utensils The wrap around locally handmade oak bar is an inviting focal point for gathering for a drink and the separate wet bar allows plenty of storage for your party favors. Our dining table has a leaf that can be added to seat 6 total comfortably for dinner and or card games!
Heading upstairs, the master has its own 26 inch LCD cable television, walk in closet, and brand new king bed. There is a separate vanity and bath/toilet area. The master bed is positioned where you can sit up in bed and see the river out in front of you. There is a private balcony with 2 tall bar chairs and table so you can read the newspaper and enjoy the water view and sunsets privately any time of day or night.
The other bedroom is well appointed with 2 new twin beds, a dresser, nightstand and spacious closet. It has its own bathroom as well.
THE DOCK: if interested, I can arrange to allow use of our wetslip and dock while you are our guest for an additional $75 per week. The slip is 30 feet at the Mariner's Cay Marina. Only about a 5 minute boat ride to Kiawah Island's isolated beach which is accessibly mainly by boat! Trailer storage would need to be arranged and is not included in the weekly rent, but is available close by at a separate storage facility for a small fee.
Folly Beach is an idyllic, laid back setting that has something for everyone. There are long stretches of beaches known for surfing, several restaurants and shops as well as the famous Folly Beach Pier which has excellent fishing. There are bike and kayak rental shops at the beach and river access points within a mile. From the front gate of the condo complex, The town of Folly Beach is approximately 1/3 mile (1500 ft). So the restaurants and bars are easily walkable from the unit, or a very quick bike ride!
Mariner's Cay is a gated, safe, family and boater friendly complex. The pool is stocked with lounge chairs and there are bathrooms as well as grills right there for convenience. Tennis courts (2) are next to the pool and are there for your use!
We partner with a well rated vacation rental company, Avocet Properties locally at Folly Beach, to insure the smoothest of reservations. They offer quick check in/out as well as 24/7 property management for your needs.
Charleston proper is about 15 minutes from the condo. Charleston is a charming, historic southern town that appeals to anyone. Known for its restaurants and fine dining, the opportunities for family fun are limitless as well. If you need advice on restaurants just ask us- we are local owners of the unit and live minutes away.

The condo was everything advertised and more. Had multiple e-mails with the owner who was great to deal with and gave me so much helpful info on where to visit by boat, and where the sand bars were in the river, etc. We kept our boat there at the marina's dock and the Dock Master was very easy to to deal with and very helpful when asked questions. I fished on dock in later afternoon and enjoyed it and actually caught some fish. We had an absolutely great time on the water and visited a remote beach on an uninhabited section of Kiawah Island, went to Charleston via the Stono River, and other things. We are also beach people and enjoyed Folly's beach. Spent about half our time in the boat and other half at beach. We visit Charleston fairly often so we only went in town once to Shem Creek for Happy Hour at Water's Edge bar. It's a great place and we like to be there when the fishing boats come in. They throw away their leftover chum and bait and the pelicans and porpoise come to eat. We usually don't eat out when we are on vacation but we did have hamburgers at 'The Grill" at the beach. It was very nice. We didn't get there this trip, but if you visit Folly, you have to go to Bowen Island to eat. It's an experience. Of course, Charleston has many great resturants Again, we had a great time and the Condo was everything it was advertised to be and more. We would definately recommend this Condo unit to friends. My husband and are former property owners on Seabrook Island and have recently spent a very enjoyable week on Folly Beach! A large part of our pleasant stay was due to the comfort and convenient location of this villa!! ! The unit itself offered beautiful views from both the master bedroom balcony and screened-in porch off the living room! It was very clean, cozy, and comfortable!! Walking to the center of Folly Beach was minutes away; the restaurants were exceptional...Rita's is a MUST!! The beach was filled with families, dogs (always on leashes) and many other colorful characters....all having fun!! Visiting Charleston is always a highlight of our trip and staying in this villa made it so easy....a ten minute drive away!! The owner of the unit could NOT have been kinder. We left behind some personal items and Scott happily came to our rescue making sure our "things" were returned to us in tact!! He was so accommodating! We highly suggest staying at this villa if you are in the area!! It promises a relaxing yet fun-filled experience!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful time at Mariners Cay. The relaxation on the screened porch overlooking the Folly River is unparalleled at sunset. Watching the boats wind up the Folly River from the master bedroom balcony kept the children occupied for what seemed to be hours. The kitchen had everything a gourmet chef could ask for, and the furniture is what I would want in my home. Pool, tennis courts, etc. put me in a country club setting PLUS this fantastic condo is on the water. I only wish I could be fortunate enough one day to own this awesome home. Thank you to the owners. You are very generous to share your good fortune with others.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this cozy condo in Mariner's Cay. It was a very short walk (even shorter bike ride) to downtown and the beach. The condo complex is quiet and friendly. It has a great pool and tennis courts and BEAUTIFUL view. The decks overlook the water where boats are docked and paddle boarders and kayakers frequent - makes for a great place to have your coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening! The condo is well-equipped with kitchen supplies, electronics, etc. I would stay there again in a heartbeat given the chance! Great value for a great getaway to a great beach!! The owner and Avocet are very friendly and accommodating as well. I would recommend this place to anyone.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This property is outstanding. It was clean and has been well maintained. The kitchen has every amenity and all appliances were in top notch condition. The condo is very attractively and comfortably furnished in all areas. The up-grades add a touch of luxury while being user friendly. The large screened porch allows relaxing hours of watching boat traffic and fishermen bringing in their catch. The dolphins and pelicans are a sight to see, and the sunset puts on a spectacular show each night. The pool and tennis courts are an added attraction at the complex. Folly has several great restaurants - food is highly recommended. A new one on Folly Road, Luckys, is a must try. Downtown Charleston is a convenient 15-20 minute straight shot down Folly Road.. The owners are a pleasure to deal with and are eager to make your stay pleasant and memorable. Highly recommend this place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Condo was exactly as described and owner was a pleasure to deal with. We took the boat for a week to offshore fish and the ramp was convenient enough for me to launch and retrieve my boat by myself when needed. The boat slip was great and there was freshwater available for washing the boat and a cleaning table for cleaning our catch when we returned. Would defiitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I, married for ten years now, needed a get away! With everything within walking distance, we had a great time going out for every meal, not having to worry about where to park or if we had a bit to drink! The property was so quiet and peaceful, with a cozy balcony outside the master bedroom with an awesome view, which became my favorite spot at the condo.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The owner was extremely easy to work with. He went out of his way to make our first visit to Charleston enjoyable by recommending activities and restaurants and much more. If you like relaxing with coffee in the morning and enjoying the quiet views of the river there is no better place. The condo was furnished with everything you could ever want (recognizing you are renting from an individual and not a hotel so we provided our own food/paper products/tolietries). Anything we needed to buy was within a short drive to the Piggly Wiggly. The king bed was very comfortable. The second bedroom has two twin beds which is great if you have kids but not so much if your travel companions are couples (we tried moving the twin beds together and that didn't work). The entertainment system was as good as mine at home. The location of the condo was perfect. It is within walking distance to the beach through the little community of Folly Beach, while being 20 minutes from downtown Charleston by car. The pool was clean and uncrowded. This is a third floor unit with no elevator so be prepared for steps but I promise it is worth it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was our first visit to the Charleston area, traveling from Central NY. It was also our first VRBO experience. I felt like we hit the jackpot on both! This condo was the perfect vacation spot. The photos and listing description were accurate. The condo and the surrounding property was clean and well maintained. Folly beach was an easy 0.8 mile walk from the condo. The beach is lovely and the town of Folly is very relaxed & had some great restaurants . We very much appreciated the close proximity to Charleston. We were easily able to split our time between the city and the beach. The owner of the condo was extremely helpful in directing us to area attractions and restaurants. He was a great example of southern hospitality. Would definitely return to this rental and certainly recommend it to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The condo in Mariner's Cay was perfect for our time in Folly Beach. The description of location and amenities is accurate, including beautiful views and dolphins for viewing. The condo is well furnished and comfortable for couples and families. The pool provided hours of entertainment for our daughter before and after hours at the beach. The beach, pier and numerous restaurants ( Crab Shack, Taco Boy, Rita's) are within walking distance, and downtown Charleston is a 10-15 minute drive away. Our neighbors in Mariners Cay were very friendly and I appreciated the gated enterance. Although we did not use the marina personally, it is well maintained and in close proximity to the condo. We would definitely recommend this condo.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
