Let the wrap around deck welcome you into this spacious 2+ bedroom 2 1/2 bath that also boasts a Kids Kave in lower level so Mom & Dad can have some relaxation and kids can play.
The home entry has a handicap access ramp OR 4 steps. Each side has a wrought iron decorated gate to keep kids or dogs on the deck. The matching rock island and glass top cooktop is imaculate and a good center of attention. With custom curly maple cabinets, knotty pine wood floors, walls and ceiling, you really are in an authentic log cabin. Also on the main floor is a dining room, powder/laundry room and the Master Bedroom with the most comfortable King size bed , plenty of closet space and a large bathroom with a walk in shower and 2 sinks.
Upstairs is a large, private, loft /bedroom that overlooks the entire great room below, but still offers plenty of privacy for people staying up there. This was such a beautiful home, and perfectly clean, and views, that were unbelievable
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our few days, and will come back for sure. It is the perfect mountain get away. We were a little late in the season, so the local shopping, was closed. But the home was indeed a home away from home. We loved it. Thank you. The rocker/glider in the living room was the best part. I sat in that rocker, and all the troubles and worries and work of the outside world fell away. I have never been so relaxed. Thanks Helen, this was such a wonderful and healing respite for my very tired soul. Beth<><

Owner response: Beth, I am so glad you were able to relax and enjoy your visit. I agree, I love the glider rockers. Sometime you don't even realize you are rocking, it's just so comfortable and relaxing. I'd rather have a glider than a recliner. I want to thank your husband for being so helpful while there. Ya'll indeed left the home as clean as you found it. Thank you, and I hope you come back again, then, you will get a 10% discount off the regular price as a returning guest.
The perfect place to stay
The perfect place to stay
My husband and I own land in Bryson City. We plan to build someday. For years we've been renting all over the Blue Ridge area. Franklin, Bryson City, Glenville, Highlands. I can honestly say Helen's place is the best. By far, the perfect place to stay. Breath taking views. There are short and long range mountain views. There seems to be a natural valley that comes together, which allows you to see further down the valley without trees obstructing your long range views. Just stunning. A Beautiful home. Wonderful location. The kitchen is fully stocked. And the beds are extremely comfortable. What more could one ask for. Your right near Fontana lake. One of the most pristine lakes in that area. The fishing is out of this world. There are 3 major rivers to chose from. Hiking, mountain biking. All within a short drive away. And, if you want to gamble. There is a casino 45 minutes away. Thank you Helen for sharing a slice of heaven...... We will be back again and again.

Owner response: Thank you Sue, I'm always glad to have you as a regular visitor to my home. I remember when we were going up renting every year and just looking and measuring, planting flowers and trees on our Lot only. We bought the lot in 1993, but couldn't build until 2005., So, keep coming and yours will all come together one day. Just keep renting my home any time you can come up.

Owner response: Thank you Vicky, I know ya'll were wanting to rest and get away from it all. This is a perfect place to relax and do nothing. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Remember your next visit is 10% off the regular rental rate.
Our stay was wonderful, we could not ask for more. 2 people and 2 dogs in the mountains of North Carolina. The property, the home and the surrounding area are just beautiful. You have all you could need if you just wanted to veg and enjoy some peace and quiet and the beautiful views. You do have to drive up gravel roads for about a mile, but unless there was snow or very slick conditions a car could make it up these roads, otherwise yes I'd suggest a 4 wheel drive vehicle but not necessary most of the time. We found pictures can't do justice to the beauty you find in NC including this home. Cabin is kept clean and well maintained. When outside during the morning you could hear the dew falling from the trees, but at night outside the chorus of birds, bugs, and animals was just amazing. That said we didn't see a single bug in or around the house which was amazing. Ellen takes very good care of her property. I have already recommended this Cabin to a coworker and friends who plan on making a trip for fall. I would definitely stay here again when we come back down to the Mountains from Chicago. Ellen was very helpful she included places to see and eat, which was great for 2 people who really didn't plan or even look into where we wanted to eat, we just planned what we wanted to see while visiting. We did ALOT of driving and exploring, we visited Bryson City several times to eat. It was great as it has your grocery store, gas, fast food restaurants and wonderful bakeries, ice cream shoppes, bars, and eateries. We took trips to Asheville, DuPont Forest, Lake Lure, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain. All were wonderful and I would go back to both the DuPont Forest and Grandfather Mountain. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

Owner response: Thank you Jennifer, Seems like you packed a lot into your 3 day visit. I'm very glad you, Your Mother, and dogs enjoyed your visit. The roads are kept in very good condition by our neighborhood caretaker. I have spent the last 7 Winters up there. Although I have a 4 wheel drive suv, I rarely have to use the 4wd. We have 3-4 snowfalls usually during Jan and Feb. The deepest I've had in those 7 winters has been 6 inches. I would still go down to the mailbox every day. (1 1/2 mi. down from the cabin). I grew up in Fla. and am excited about having snow. I do hope you will come again, remember you will get a 10% discount next visit. HELEN
The cabin was great. I have a hard time calling it a cabin with an island kitchen, central air and great internet connections. The house was fully stocked with kitchen utensils and spices. House was very clean and up to date. Owner was great with answering questions and suggestions. I would definitely recommend and plan on going back. I would recommend the Bistro which is the closet restaurant to the house. NOC is the outdoor activity center of the area. The Smoky Mountain Railroad was fun and interesting trip. Do not miss Na Bors Drive-in. Great cheeseburger on a tray on your cars window! The Filling Station has good sandwiches as well.

Beautiful home! The views were breathtaking and we really enjoyed how private it was. The rental was stocked with everything you could ever need and was very clean and nicely decorated. We had two other couples with us and both of them took down the information so they could rent it again another time. The owner was super nice and made herself available for any questions we had. We enjoyed going into Bryson City and riding the train and eating at a one of the mom and pop restaurants. We also enjoyed hiking in the area. Will definitely rent this one again!

Owner response: Thank you Gigi & Tim, I'm so glad you and your friends enjoyed your visit. I love getting referrals and repeat visitors. You were recommended to my cabin thru Facebook friends of my son. (my friends & my kids friends receive discount). Because of the referral you received a 10% discount on your rental. You will also receive a 10% discount each time you or the 2 couples who came with you return as " repeat guests." I have 2 wonderful cleaning ladies who have a 3 hr. system of cleaning each and every time someone stays, whether visitors stay 3 nights or 2 weeks. They only work for me because we are friends. I am so pleased I can always be confident in how clean my cabin is.
The house is wonderful with plenty of room to spread out, though my kids preferred to stay all together in the loft upstairs! The view is breathtaking. It was great to have a fully equipped kitchen as it rained so much we couldn't grill outside. The location is close to many activities and beautiful drives. Very clean cabin. Our only challenge was that we didn't realize that we needed to bring our own tp and paper towels which required a quick drive to the market! The drive up the mountain can be a little challenging would suggest an suv and take it slowly!

Owner response: I am glad you had a wonderful time even with the rain. The entire country is having to experience a change in weather. We have all had lots of rain this summer. The gravel mountain roads are well maintained . Gravel making for better traction than paved roads in rain or snow. Getting to my home is very easy access and a 4wheel drive is not necessary unless you go to the top of the mountain, where it is a steeper grade. Some neighbors have front wheel drive cars. My home has 3 bathrooms, there is tissue on the roller, and at least 1-2 rolls under each of the 3 sinks. Granted that may not be enough for your 5 people for a week, but there is also an Ingles discount card attached to the house key, to help buy all your groceries. I'm sorry you were the 1st person, in 3 years of renting, to have a 4 star experience in my normal 5 star reviews. I take pride in my home and the 2 cleaning ladies work hard to have it the cleanest home you ever rented. Hopefully your next visit to the beautiful Smoky Mountains will have less rain. (More rain ==less fires.)
Thanks for sharing your home with us. We had a very relaxing and peaceful time. Could not have needed or wanted anything else in the cabin. The view from the deck was breathtaking...a perfect Glory Mountain Sunrise!!! Only wish I had brought my pups with me...they would of loved the fenced in backyard! My 93 y/o father was extremely comfortable in the house...very elderly friendly! Thanks again for sharing! Tricia and Papa Bear from south Louisiana...Go Tigers!!!!!!

Owner response: I'm so glad you and your Dad enjoyed your visit. The home has a ramp as well as steps which makes it easier for older people to enter safely. I even prefer walking up and down the ramp myself. I hope you will return next vacation, bring your dogs at that time. The fenced in yard, and the gated deck, makes it safe for pets as well as kids.,
We had wonderful stay .The house is so perfect. We truly enjoyed coming back each evening to relax and enjoy the views. I would recommend house to anyone wanting beautiful place to explore Smokey's. We road railroad, visited Cherokee Museum and drove down Blue Ridge Parkway.

Everything we were hoping for and more
Everything we were hoping for and more
My husband and I wanted a quite get away from the hustle and bustle. When we got there, everything was perfect. The cabin is very spacious, clean and had everything that we could need while we were up there for cooking, showering etc. The sunrises were just amazing. The bed was SUPER comfortable, which I am very picky about. (There is nothing worse than a bads night sleep on vacation). We enjoyed relaxing by the gas fireplace and we also enjoyed making smores on in the fire pit outside; you can also hear the river from the cabin which was very peaceful. We ended up having to bring our dog last minute and it worked out wonderfully. There was a doggie door and a very large fenced in area for him to relax along with a covered dog house. The area was simply beautiful. We enjoyed the quaint towns, and scenic drive with the waterfalls and more. We enjoyed 4 days of tranquility. Looking forward to going back again. Owner was very nice and very accomidating. We got lost and she got back with us very soon.

Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My husband Jerry & I used to take vacation to various parts of the Smoky Mountains every year.. In 1996 we found this lot and view. We knew at once ''this is IT''. We bought the lot and waited till we got old enough to retire. Jerry retired from Publix warehouse in Lakeland and I retired from owning 2 hair salons and a wedding consultation/ cake business. We sold house and everything, moved here, built our chalet log cabin of our dreams. We really enjoyed living here the last 5 yr. till Jerry, a disabled Viet Nam veteran, died in Oct.at the Asheville VA Hospital. Although I absolutely love my home, I feel I need to be closer to my family in Florida now. I hope you will love this home even 1/2 as much as I do.
Why the Owner Chose Bryson City:
Bryson City has so much 'water', so much entertainment for kids of all ages to enjoy. We built this as our home, but now I will be renting or selling it for others to enjoy.
