Property description

Aloha, we normally require a minimum of five nights, but we have 2 four-night "pukas" to fill next February, so if you're looking for a shorter stay during the whale migration season when you can see humpbacks right from our lanai, here's your chance. Aloha and welcome to our condo, Hale Kai # 213. It is situated so close to the ocean that when you first open the door, it seems as though you could dive right in. So close in fact that your favorite pastime might just be kicking back on the lanai, relaxing to the soothing sound of the surf, and enjoying some of the most scenic sunsets Hawaii has to offer!

Here you can view marine life right from our lanai, including humpback whales in season and sea turtles frolicking directly in front of the property year round. You can also enjoy easy access to swimming or snorkeling right in front via the adjoining beach, or just relax by the oceanfront pool and revel in the scenic views of Molokai and Lanai right offshore.

Our recently remodeled condo continues the tropical ambiance indoors through the extensive use of bamboo materials, travertine like tile floors, tropical themed ceiling fans and fixtures, and louvered doors. As a second floor end unit with vaulted ceilings, it also affords its occupants with an abundance of natural light and ventilation.

The remodeled kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and custom cabinets, while the remodeled bathroom sports a walk in shower and high quality fixtures. Extra sleeping accommodations in the living room include your choice of two Twin-sized Murphy beds newly installed as part of the remodel, or a convertible sofa bed. In the bedroom, you will find a King-sized bed and 100% Organic Cotton Blackout Curtains.

For your entertainment, there's a 32' LCD Flat Screen TV, Blu-Ray Disc Player, iPhone/iPod compatible stereo, and free wireless internet access. Lastly, to minimize its impact on the environment, our unit is equipped with a tank-less water heater, energy star appliances and energy efficient lighting.

Our condo is conveniently located midway between the Ka'anapali and Kapalua resort areas, which makes it a 10-15 minute drive from most any West Maui attraction. On foot, it is just one minute away from the Honokowai Farmer's Market, organic food store and neighborhood coffee shop, and just a few minutes more from numerous other restaurants and shops. It is also located next door to the Honokowai Beach Park, which features a recently upgraded playground area for young children.

About: After having visited Oahu and Kauai numerous times, my better half and I first came to Maui to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Suffice to say, one visit and we were hooked! We fell in love with West Maui's panoramic views of Molokai and Lanai, and with the abundant marine life right off shore, especially the whales. The other Hawaiian islands are great, but Maui, particularly West Maui, ranks the best in our book!

Why Honokowai:
The purchase of our unit at Hale Kai represented a rare opportunity to own a piece of paradise located just steps from the ocean. Setback requirements on new properties mean that they can no longer be located this close. We also enjoy the fact that it's such a relaxed, low-rise complex rather than an impersonal, concrete monstrosity. In short, we enjoy the abundant Aloha of our small knit community. One day, we hope to retire here. In the meanwhile, we're happy to allow others to find the bliss in paradise that we so enjoy here.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our oceanfront pool allows our guests to swim and soak up the sun while enjoying views of Molokai and Lanai, while our oceanfront Barbecues allow them to enjoy scenic sunsets over or between the same islands year round while preparing dinner. Our property also adjoins a small beach that provides easy access to the reefs directly in front of the pool area.
