this house is a perfect place to stay for anyone visiting Cincinnati. The house itself is lovely. It's been fixed up with every modern convenience, but retains the charm of the historic district inside and out. Every part of the house was immaculate, and everything was in good working order in the house. It was nicely decorated, and there is central AC. the dining room seated a lot of people comfortably, and the kitchen next to it made it possible for everyone to mingle some. The house has enough room for everyone to gather, or for people to spend some time in their own areas too. I'm afraid of heights so did not see the rooftop deck, but the others said it was quite a view. Amenities: This is by no means inclusive, because the house was stocked with everything a person could need! there was a VERY well stocked kitchen, umbrellas, board games, magazines, a washer and dryer (with laundry detergent), directions and phone numbers for local restaurants and other things, etc. It was obvious a LOT of thought had gone into making sure everyone had a wonderful experience. Location: the house has two parking spots available, and on-street parking for any additional cars. Most things were in walking distance, and when we drove it was just for convenience since it rained a bit. The neighborhood is beautiful, with old houses that have been renovated and fun restaurants. We walked a few blocks to the river to watch fireworks after the ball game one evening, and we had a great view. dog friendly- we always restrict our stays to places that allow dogs, and this was the nicest one by far! We had bags for walking but there was also a ready supply of plastic bags there, as well as spotlessly clean dog bowls and a toy! The neighborhood has nice sidewalks and interesting houses, so it was a pleasant place to walk the dog. miscellaneous- I think the cost is very reasonable, especially for a dog friendly house. After staying there and seeing how nicely appointed the house is, as well as how dedicated the owner is, I think its an outstanding value. The owner is available if anything comes up, leaving contact information by email and phone, and I also felt like the owner truly would not have minded if we did need to contact them. We went for a family event and will definitely be returning. I would not have one bit of criticism, I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

AMAZING!!! Staying at this property made our KY stay perfect. Seven of us came in for a long weekend to participate in the Flying Pig Marathon events. We had some participants and some spectators, and it was great for everybody. Location: Is ideal! We were just a couple blocks from the bridge to downtown Cincinnati. There is a shuttle stop about a block away too. There were fireworks the first night we were there and we walked the few blocks to the river to watch. (The rooftop deck would have been great for this too!) The location was great for the Flying Pig events. The marathon course is just a couple blocks from the house. This was perfect for the spectators in the group. They got to walk outside and watch the event without dealing with the starting line mayhem. There are also a couple restaurants and bars that are walkable. We took advantage of this and went to Keystone. We had the legendary mac n cheese and it did not disappoint. House: WOW! The pictures don't do it justice. The charm and character is impressive. There are tons of original features in the house but also the modern updates (like kitchen and bathrooms) that we all like. The size was great too. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us and having a full kitchen was nice. We had an interior designer in our group and she LOVED the house. It was exceptionally clean as well. Owner: Lisa could not have been any easier to work with or more helpful if she tried. She was fantastic. She had absolutely every last detail in order and thought of everything we could possibly want to make our stay comfortable. We didn't need anything from her while we were there, but she let us know that we could contact her at any point for anything we needed. She really made it a great experience. Overall: Stay here! The house is great, it is in a fantastic spot, and the price can't be beat - especially for all that you get! We are already planning to come back and stay here next year!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time at this property! We had four adults and three kids staying in the home, and it was very comfortable. Rooftop access is truly unique and gives a GREAT view of the Red's Friday night fireworks. The kids had a great time with the winding staircases! Host certainly displays southern hospitality with making us feel comfortable with our stay. Clean, modern kitchen & bathrooms with the architectural character of an older home. Short walking distance to the Cincinnati trolley.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This was an ideal place to have our family and friends from Ohio come visit us. We enjoyed the holiday decorations, the well stocked kitchen and the view from the roof deck- even snowflakes! Our family's vehicles were secure as Lisa provided the extra parking passes allowing us to walk to any of 5 local pubs- great food and a spot to cheer for the home team!! We had everything we needed for the mini- family reunion: Graeter's ice cream and snacks to start the visit, many helpful tips on the local attractions, comfortable beds and a family size table for playing cards or games. The large TV room with the L- shaped sofa allowed us to watch a show or the Bengal's game and plan the events for the next day. Lisa even gave me the phone # I needed to get my hair cut on the afternoon we arrived.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property is very well maintained. The owner has done a great job outfitting the kitchen. I enjoy cooking and found every utensil I needed (including a microplane grater) making it easy to feel right at home. The owner was very thoughtful with welcome basket and decorations to reflect the season. The property is right on the edge of the gentrified/historic area of Covington with great walk-to bars and restaurants. Probably my only suggestion would be to improve the security of the front and rear doors. The locks are finicky and would be easy to get through and the house is located across from an substance abuse rehabilitation center making security a critical feature. Better for early risers since there is also an auto detailing and window tinting shop across the street and there are horns honking by 7 AM for admittance.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, pet owners.

Can't say enough about how great the experience was in Covington, KY at this rental home. We had a group of 6 (all sisters), ages ranging from 75 to 54. We were there to celebrate the 75th birthday of our eldest sister and to get together (our yearly tradition). Lisa was so helpful and friendly - meeting us to help us find the home and parking. The location was great for getting to downtown via the trolley. Within walking distance are fun restaurants and a book store with a coffee shop. We especially enjoyed the den on the 3rd floor of this home. It is large enough for all to sit and relax at night. All 6 of us highly recommend the home & the owner.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My girlfriends and I spent a weekend in this lovely house that is full of character - just like the pictures portray. One of the best parts of the rental was working with Lisa! She was helpful with information and made us all feel welcomed. House is in a great location for walking to any nearby spot in Covington as well as downtown Cinci. We enjoyed the roof-top view of the downtown area. We also all enjoyed plenty of room! It would be great for friends, families - and I would strongly recommend it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this house on a weekend for a reunion of 3 college friends. Every amenity was thought of, the kitchen well appointed, and the location very convenient. The owner gave a thorough walk through and made herself available if we had any questions during our stay. Our plan was to eat in one night, out the other - going to walk to one of the local restaurants. We got comfortable at the house on our eating out night and decided to do with what we had leftover and stay in. The same group of friends would come back to this place - it was a very nice home away from home.Recommended for: Girls getaway

My Mom, Aunts, and I planned a mini vacation to Cincinnati in early October and could not have found a better rental! The location was very convenient to the many neighborhoods found in and around Cincy. We were in walking distance to the stadiums, excellent dining, and a short drive or trolly ride to a lot of other attractions. More than the location and the house itself (which is GORGEOUS), the customer service and attention to detail displayed by the owner far exceeded our expectations. She knew we planned to have a mini-baby shower for a local family member and she made sure to have a few different items that we needed, down to one Aunt's favorite coffee creamer. :) We loved the stay, loved the communication, and we will be back again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I rented this house for my bridesmaids and myself to stay in the night before my wedding, as well as a place for all of us to get ready together the next day. The house was actually better in person than we expected it to be by looking at the photos. The day of the wedding there were 4 of us, plus my mom, our makeup artist, and hairstylists, and we all felt that we had more than enough personal space and room to spread out and relax. The rooftop deck was a great way to unwind in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy our coffee together in the morning and had spectacular views. Lisa was super sweet and beyond accommodating, and even left us a chilled bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion (not to mention some pints of graeter's ice cream-yum!). None of us wanted to leave- we all wanted to live there! Even our makeup artist asked for the info to rent the place for a girl's weekend. So much better than a hotel, and at an unbeatable price. I'm definitely going to make it a point to stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the townhouse for a college-roommate get-together. We were looking for a place with the right space for 6 women to relax and catch up, and with nice kitchen accommodation - AND THIS WAS IT! One of our favorite features was the rooftop deck to lounge with fantastic views of the river and city. The house was wonderfully decorated and comfortable... definitely top notch. Lisa is a personable owner who made us feel very welcome and taken care of from the minute we arrived. We had all the comforts of home and then some when we stayed at this "Old Kentucky Home" as Lisa called it. A combination of historic and modern (as in kitchen and bathrooms!) it was most enjoyable. We were able to gather my sisters and their families for a pizza party and we had room to spare. Not sure which I liked best, the great pizza that Lisa introduced us to OR the Graeter's ice cream that she had for us in the freezer! Even Phoebe, our Westie, liked her visit. She got lots of exercise going up and down the beautiful staircase. Lisa couldn't have been nicer and totally on-the-spot with any questions we had. Kudos to her!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

This house was exceptional. Spacious, clean, fully stocked, comfortable, modern, safe, well located. The kitchen is new, fully stocked and wonderful to use. The rooftop is great. The owner was wonderful to work with. She lives nearby and checked in often (via phone... never intruded) to see if we needed anything, to give us updates about local events, to help answer any questions we had. I would HIGHLY recommend this rental and will certainly use it next time we are back in Cincinnati. Additional bonus: The house has toys if you have kids!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Lisa was an excellent hostess for our vacation week in Covington. The house location made seeing family and friends so easy. The two parking spots in the back of the house were a great assest. My husband and I returned with our children after moving 15 years ago from the area. We loved walking down to the local pubs and revisiting the old neighborhood. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything a family could need for comfort. The location is great for downtown Cincinnati visitors; don't forget about using KY as your base!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Lisa is definitely the hostess with the mostess! 7 of us flew in to run the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. Our stay could not have been more perfect! Plenty of room for 7 women - Walking distance to EVERYWHERE. Keystone Bar & Grill right across the street from the house was perfect for our post-race dinner. The house was immaculate and Lisa was great! The tour of Great American Ballpark was fun. Definitely check out the Moerlein Lager House right across the bridge (walking distance)! We loved everything about this house and our stay - only minor annoyance is that the street traffic can be noisy for the bedrooms that face the street, but I'm a light sleeper so most may not even notice. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for a great stay Lisa!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We stayed a little over two weeks in this beautiful home. It was comfortable and clean. Well-appointed would be an understatement. The booking process was easy. Lisa was great to work with.....she made us feel very much at home. The cleaning fee included housekeeping service once during our visit which was a nice perk. The home is located within walking distance of several good restaurants. First Watch serves great breakfast! The library is only one block away. We walked to the river front several days. Southbank Shuttle stops only one block away for an easy trip into Cincinnati where there is always something going on. It made our visit to the Freedom Center hassle-free. Just minutes to many other tourist attractions, including Findlay Market. Thank you, Lisa! We hope to book again during our next trip to Covington.Did you find this review helpful? Great big historic home in Covington, KY, a couple blocks from the river & Cincinnati. Can't say enough about Lisa's hospitality, from her communication before we arrived to the snacks & toys set out for us when we did. Also Lucy, a neighbor who cleans the house, was very friendly & helpful. We used the house to rendezvous with friends who, like us, have a newborn, so we didn't explore the area in detail. A couple things we can recommend, though: MainStrasse (mainstrasse.org), a Covington commercial district several blocks SW of the house, where we found good espresso beverages & good service at Groove Coffee House. Also, heading N on Greenup takes you over a bridge to Cincinnati riverfront, where there's a little green space atop a parking garage. Finally, there's a replica of Notre Dame (at 1/3 scale) S of the house on Madison. Make sure to check out the rooftop deck. If you plan to cook, don't worry about pots & pans, & if you've forgotten some basic ingredient (Iike cooking oil), there's a chance it's in the pantry. We made good use of the food processor. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house. Thanks, Lisa!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The beds are beyond comfortable. The enormoulsy large rain shower was quite the "spa" treatment. The third floor family room is quite relaxing and a perfect place for an afternoon nap or read. The kitchen is so well equipped and the Keurig with a variety of yummy coffees and teas...really nothing better!!! Lisa is amazing to work with and left yummy treats for us upon our arrival. We walked into this lovely home, our fridge stocked with local fare. Ice-cream, salsa, muffins...Lisa is so thoughtful and helpful. She directed us to the nearest little outdoor cafe, dogs are allowed there and so are little children so we brought both. The staff at Keystone, the cafe, were overly nice and the 2nd time we walked in the door called our baby by name. What a wonderful small town feel in a somewhat overwhelming and busy city. We also walked around the immediate area and closer to the river to find gems of history. Bronze statues...so much to see and to learn ! I stayed for the weekend with friends - we came to town for 2011 tennis tournament, and highly recommend this great place! This pristine, clean, beautiful restored 19thC house is very special and the local Covington area far from bland. Lisa is a perfect host, no fuss and no worries, sincere, reliable, accomodating. One bedroom of 3 on the street side was a little noisy from late night traffic (we are not so used to urban sound effects these days now living in small town) but this was not a problem at all for us. Kitchen is fully equipped, and we all had a memorable dinner "at home" with local goodies obtained from Cincinnati's excellent fresh food Findlay Market. This would be impossible in a hotel. A few minutes from great galleries and museums (CAC was excellent) and many other wonderful things. Comfy beds, tasteful furniture. If you are a group of 4-6 or so, this place is perfect size for you .... but hey next time I am in Cincinnatti/Covington with just my spouse, I'd definitely want to stay again too. Thanks Lisa. My sisters and I booked this house for a getaway weekend, and it could not have been more perfect! The house is absolutely incredible. Every single room was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and amazingly inviting. I wanted to move in for a month! The rooftop deck was breathtaking-- we spent many, many hours of our getaway weekend up there, enjoying the gorgeous views of Cincinnati. There are lots of great restaurants and bars in close walking vicinity, and everything on the Cincinnati side is just a quick trip across the river. We used the shuttle ($1 per way, the stop was a block and a half from the house) and we were in downtown Cincinnati in minutes. Perfect! Lisa was so kind and gracious-- she even left us snacks and treats, a personal touch which we really appreciated. It was so wonderful to stay in such a warm and inviting home for the weekend-- it truly added so much to our getaway weekend. I'd highly recommend staying in this beautiful house, and for the chance to work with Lisa. She's the perfect hostess-- she welcomed us, told us to call her if we needed anything and then left us to enjoy our getaway retreat. It was an amazing weekend for my sisters and I, we can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We found this place last-minute, looking for a spur-of-the-moment Memorial Day getaway. I'm SO happy we did! This is a beautiful historic townhome that has been fully remodeled. Having lived in a similar house myself, I was a bit worried; historic remodels sometimes totally lose the character of the building, or they stay "too historic" and don't feel comfortable. This charming place was the perfect mix of traditional and contemporary; the gorgeous staircase in the center of the home was amazing, the antique decorative fireplaces were beautiful, and the high ceilings made the place seem very grand. But the furnishings were up-to-date and extremely comfortable, and the kithchen and bathrooms (which often feel outdated in historic homes) were modern and luxurious. The entire place was very clean, but it didn't feel sterile or stuffy; we felt relaxed and right at home. The owner, Lisa, was extremely friendly and welcoming, and has thought of and provided anything you could want in each room of this house! She provided us plenty of information about how to get around and where to go in the area. Within easy walking distance are lots of lovely restaurants, including a wonderful Irish Pub (and coming from a very Irish family I was right at home!) There is also shuttle service very nearby (recommended to us by Lisa) that takes you to all the Covington, Newport, and Cincinnati attractions - leave the car at home! There are options for whatever your interest is - touristy sightseeing, sports and shopping, or local restaurants (casual and upscale.) Newport on the Levee is loads of fun, with an amazing aquarium, Duck Tours, lots of live entertainment, and plenty of dining options. There's plenty to do, but also plenty of room to just stay in and relax (I suggest the Qwirkle game - we had never seen it, but played for hours!) We had a wonderful holiday weekend, and can't say enough good things about this rental. We can't wait to come back, and we plan on bringing family with us next time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The owner was a wonderful host. We had every comfort you could imagine and the Roof Top deck had a fabulous view. I would go back in a heart beat. The home and area made our business trip one to remember. I would recommend that home to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. We were within walking distance of many things. The home ws very affordable and accomodated the parking needs for the 3 of us while visiting the area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for a week. Upon arriving, Lisa the host was gracious and welcoming. Looking around the house, the owners of this property did not forget a thing. The kitchen was stocked with anything you needed to cook and even a Cincinnati treat of Graeter's ice cream! The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms, you would want at your own place. There is historic charm in this house. Yet the owners balanced the historical features with high-end modern touches. This place was big enough for an entire family or comfortable for a party of two. We had guests join us for an evening and there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves at the dinner table and in the entertainment room. As we stay often in homes when we travel, this one stood out. We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this beautiful home while visiting the area for our son's wedding. It was the perfect place to stay. Easy walking distance to the bridge to Cincinnatti, bars, restaurants, and Main Strauss Village, which has many interesting dining options. The home accommodated a revolving door of the groom, groom's family, and groomsmen throughout the weekend. Everyone that stayed here was so pleased once they saw it that they were able to stay in this beautiful home instead of in a hotel room. Definitely a unique feature, we enjoyed a warm evening on the space efficient rooftop deck. One of the things I wasn't sure about was the fact that the owner lived just a few doors down from this home. I didn't know what that would mean as it related to privacy during our stay. Lisa was immediately warm and welcoming. She provided some snacks and refreshments which was so unexpected and appreciated. She toured through the home with us and showed us the things we would need to know, gave us her contact info and invited us to call her if absolutely anything came up. And then we didn't see her again until we were ready to check out. So, it was completely a non-issue that she lived so close. We really enjoyed meeting Lisa and staying in this unique home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this quaint and spacious home near Cincinnati. The house is beautifully decorated and the owner has considered everything that their guests need. The house is walking distance from several local restaurants and minutes from downtown Cincinnati. It is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway to see a Reds or Bengals game. It is also very close to Newport and we loved getting to walk along the river, shop, eat, and go to the Newport Aquarium. (BTW - The aquarium is awesome!) The only problem we had on our trip was that the weather did not cooperate and we were unable to utilize the home's roof top patio. The brief time we spent on the rooftop we enjoyed the great view of the river and downtown Cincinnati. We have used VRBO several times and would confidently recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely stay here again when we travel back to this area of the country. You need not look anymore this is the place you are searching for!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place was amazing. The location is perfect. If you're driving, private parking access is right at the back door - so easy for in and out, loading and unloading! You walk in to find a beautiful dining room, modern kitchen with granite and stainless steel appliances, all amenities. All decor of the house highlights the historic architecture but has a retro slant. All of the bedrooms are cozy and comfortable. In the master bedroom I felt like I was in the Ritz with my flat screen, my wi-fi, and my sumptuous bed. All of the bathrooms are modern, updated, and wonderful. But the gorgeous staircase that goes from first floor to fourth reminds you that you are in an elegant estate home. All of my friends were very comfortable. It was great for our girls get away and would be great for families too. You walk out the front door and have great restaurants, bars, yoga, movie theaters, and you can even walk over the bridge to Cincinnati for a Bangals Game or a Reds Game...all that Cincinnati has to offer! But Covington is such a quaint little town that you won't want to leave. We LOVED it. I will come back again and again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed here in August of 2010. We enjoyed having all the comforts of home within easy walking distance to the Riverfront and downtown. Outside the front door was the lively, urban/bohemian Covington scene, while inside we found a calm, charming, inviting atmosphere. Hardword floors, historical architectural details, granite-countertops in the kitchen, comfy beds and wonderful bathrooms made it feel like a cross between an upscale boutique hotel, a spa, and HOME! There was more than enough room for our party of four adults to sprawl out on a lazy Sunday morning and read the New York Times that was provided. Each of us chose our own coffee from the large selection offered with the Keurig coffeemaker. We could easily have cooked dinner in the kitchen, but we wanted to sample the restaurants in the area. We especially enjoyed the Riverside Korean Restaurant,a delightful hibachi-style Korean/Asian eatery.. Also within walking distance are several weekend brunch restaurants. All in all this was a wonderful vacation spot...WAAAAY better than a hotel. We were able to spend time together in a place where we felt pampered and completely at home. Perfection!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The description of this wonderful property does not do it justice- it is truly a slice of heaven! We spent a weekend here with our 5 children and were sad when we had to leave. There were so many things we didn't have time to do. Although we conveniently parked our car in the off street parking right out back, we enjoyed exploring and sightseeing by foot. Our highlight was our evening horse-drawn carraiage ride from just across the street (which fit all of us, by the way!) We felt like we stepped back in time, and loved seeing the historic renovations as well as incredible river views! We walked down the street to an incredible brunch on Sunday morning. Our next trip will include walking across the bridge to the stadium in Cincy and a day of golf at one of the fabulous courses right in Covington! We're already planning our next adventure!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
