Rented this property for a bachelorette weekend, for 8 girls. The home was wonderful! Both the inside and outside were clean and well-kept, and the view of the lake was amazing. There was more than enough space for the 8 of us, and we had everything that we needed. The home was a good distance from Nashville, and from the airport. Spent one evening at the house, and drove into Nashville the second evening to explore. Steve was easy to contact and we appreciated his communication. It was a very relaxing weekend for all, and a perfect bachelorette weekend. Thanks again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Karen: Thank you for your comments. The house is very comfortable and relaxing. I'm sure you ladies enjoyed hanging out on the back porch and gathering in the kitchen/den. It's hard to describe the views and serenity of the mornings and evenings at the lake if you haven't experienced it. Hopefully I will hear from you or some of your group in the future. Thank You, Steve

Steve, Our sincere apology for the lateness of this note, however Tim and I want you to know how much we enjoyed our weekend in February at your beautiful home. So many breathtaking views of the lake I didn't stay in any one room to long. It was tastefully decorated and very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend your venue to anyone that is wanting a get away to a beautiful place that is close to a great city. Thanks for everything! Kathy and Tim Lovelady, Unicoi, TNOwner response: Kathy & Tim: I am glad you guys enjoyed the time you were in town. As you know you guys are welcome back anytime in the future. Thank You, Steve

We really enjoyed our long weekend stay at this beautiful lake front home. Our group consisted of three couples (all empty nesters) and we did a lot of sightseeing in Nashville - downtown, the Grand Ole Opry, Franklin, and the Hermitage - but we all enjoyed coming back to the peaceful lake views. The house is just as beautiful as shown in the pictures and the amenities are amazing. Steve was extremely easy to work with and always communicated promptly. We would love to come back when the weather is warmer and skip the sightseeing and just enjoy the home and the lake!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Denise: Now you know why people don't mention the sights and attractions when they write reviews of their visit. Thank you for your comments as it's always nice to know our efforts are worthwhile. It is hard to beat relaxing on the patio after a day of being in town. I'll look forward to hearing from you guys in the future. Sincerely, Steve

For 5 years now, myself and a group of friends have been going on an annual trip. We have been to Gatlinburg every year until now. We decided to step outside of our box and try somewhere new, and we couldn't be happier that we did! The view of the lake (especially at sunset) is amazing! We made it a long weekend trip, and still did not want to leave on Monday. Steve was very accomodating. He even came by to change our propane tank upon arrival. Through my 2 months of planning, Steve was always easy to contact, and got back with a response right away. We brought our boat, which was great. It's still just as great staying at the house to relax. If our annual trip stays in Nashville, we will definetely be staying in this house again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Jade: Well I had no idea this trip was a "roll of the dice" for you guys. I am pleased to know you were not disappointed. I try to assist all my guests in planning their trips so the occasion can be as memorable as possible. It's hard to describe the sunsets or full moons at the house to people who haven't experienced them first hand. Hopefully you guys will hang onto that vision until you can make it back. I'll look forward to hearing from you in the future. Sincerely, Steve

I found the owner to be committed to excellence in all aspects of this property. Our family of six, including 5 ladies had an awesome time. We are from Tampa and have one daughter at college in Nashville so we wanted to spend a week near her. It was a peaceful relaxing week on the lake with plenty of fun in Nashville as well. The property was first class.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Gary: I appreciate your comments and that makes our efforts worth while. We work hard to make the house a place that would meet my expectations and I would want to stay with my family. Although the house is convenient to downtown you do feel as if you are in the country when hanging out on the back patio or gathering in the kitchen/den. Hopefully many lasting memories were made and I will hope to hear from you in the future. Sincerely, Steve

I stayed at this lake house for a weekend getaway with some girlfriends. It was a beautiful house with great views, comfortabale furniture, and an awesome kitchen! I would hightly recommend this place for a relaxing vacation that is close to a great city. We traveled down to Nashville for dinner and to Yazoo brewery, and the drive only took about 30 minutes. Thanks Steve for making it so easy to stay at your beautiful property!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Emily: I am always glad to hear the house enhanced you visit to Nashville. It is great to go into downtown and take part in the night life and sights, but it is nice to come back to the lake and enjoy the therapy the views and common areas offer. I will forward to hearing from you in the future. Sincerely, Steve Addis

We had 10 guys and this house was more than enough space. The house was fantastic and was exactly what we were looking for. The weather was a little bit cooler but we were still able to enjoy the incredible patio with grill and firepit. Steve was more than accomodating and allowed us extra time to get out of the house upon departure. Very flexible and superb property owner. I am planning on going back again this summer and would recommend this to anyone traveling to the Nashville area. Thank you for the hospitality Steve.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Rob: Old man winter is hanging on this year that's for certain, but I'm glad the fire pit and grill gave you guys an opportunity to enjoy the patio and outdoors. I appreciate your comments and I always try to make sure the guests have anything they need to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. I know you will enjoy the summer when you return and you could tell from the location they'll be no shortage of activity to enjoy. I'll look forward to hearing from you in the coming weeks. Sincerely, Steve Addis

The beds were hard and most of the linens very "used and ratty." Also, I spent about 1.5 hours cleaning the day we left according to the lease agreement. There were some dishes left in the sink and Steve wouldn't give me my damage deposit back because apparently it costs the damage deposit amount to do a couple dishes. TOTALLY ridiculous. Don't plan on getting back your deposit back even if you clean up...I would definitely stay elsewhere next time.Owner response: James: I am surprised at your comments. To quote your email to me inquiring about the deposit refund, "Despite the snow and cold we really had a great time last weekend at your house. You have a beautiful home." It is obvious you didn't read the Rental Agreement and this is exactly why I require a signed copy as a part of completing the reservation. Based on what I witnessed the morning of your departure this attempt to "get me" shouldn't be a surprise. I am glad to know you have no plans to return to my home, please STAY ELSEWHERE. Sincerely, Steve

My group and I wanted somewhere where we could have a girls trip- relax and get away- but also be close to downtown to partake in the fun! We were shocked when we got to the home to find out how BEAUTIFUL it was!!! The views were absolutely BREATHTAKING! We enjoyed every minute of our weekend and already are making plans to come back to the house with our husbands! From sitting on the patio furniture talking and staring at the lake for hours, to cooking in the gorgeous kitchen overlooking the lake, the whole weekend was fabulous!!!! Steve was very very easy to get in touch with and communicated well! Payments and such went seamlessly!! Can't say enough great things about this house and location! ..oh and did I mention the tiles in the master bath are HEATED! No luxuries are forgotten in that master suite!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Lauren: I am glad you discovered the heated tile in the master bath. I always thought that was one of the nicest small additions to the house when I built it. It is hard to create a mental picture of the views for people who haven't seen it, but the therapy it provides is memorable. I'm glad to know know you guys are planning to return with your husbands and I'll look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Steve Addis

Myself and several of my friends stayed here for 2 nights. It was a wonderful getaway close to home. Steve's home met all of our expectations and then some. Steve is very easy to contact and work with on all the rental details. He seemed really concerned about our comfort and enjoyment during our stay. The place is just as you see it and then some. There are no surprises. It was very clean and up to date on everything. There was nothing but positive remarks made by all my guests. We would truly like to come back when the weather is warmer and enjoy the outside as much as we did the inside of this beautiful home! Thank you Steve for being so accommodating for me and my guests. It made my 50 very special and made great memories with my friends. I would highly recommend this place to anybody who has high expectations of where they vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Denise: I was hoping your stay would add to your birthday memories and sounds as if we were successful. I hope you guys will consider coming back when the weather is warm so you can enjoy getting out on the water. Regardless of the time of year the views are fantastic year round and a great place with great friends is hard to beat! Sincerely, Steve

About the owner: I am a single father of 2 sons who both had the opportunity to grow up around the water. My business life keeps me on the road much of the time so we have decided to share our "slice of heaven" with visitors. I enjoy the theraputic afternoons on the lake unwinding from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I had the good fortune of growing up in the area and have enjoyed this lake for over 40 years. The sunsets and evening cruises make you long for those afternoon/evenings at home.
Why the Owner Chose Nashville:
Having grown up in this area and with the growth and abundant activities Nashville has to offer I couldn't imagine spending my leisure time anywhere else. We are convenient to multiple golf courses, shopping, and restaurants. If you want to enjoy the night life or cultural activities available downtown you can be there in 30 minutes. Yet while close to everything you may want to do, when you're at the house you feel as if you are in the country.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Being able to walk 100 feet to the water and take a leisurely ride on the boat or just float in the cove is what makes this home a dream come true. When at the house we hardly get off the "peninsula" and enjoy all the restaurants available from the water. With Old Hickory Lake being a part of the inter-coastal water way you can take a trip downtown on the river and spend the day kicking around lower Broadway and make it back in the same day.
