Our condo, Unit 612 at The Islander, is located on Holiday Isle, one of the most sought after vacation destinations. At The Islander, you can relax and take in the gorgeous views of the emerald green waters and sugar white beaches, and then enjoy a swim and fun on the beach. The Islander is perfectly located near Destin Harbor, where you have access to and can enjoy a sunset dolphin cruise, fishing, snorkeling, parasailing, and wave runner and paddleboard rentals. You can visit the best restaurants on The Emerald Coast with top rated cuisine. Enjoy live entertainment and fun for the kids. Golfing and great shopping are, of course, a highlight of the Destin area. The Islander (“The New Islander”) was renovated and our beaches refurbished in the Fall/Winter of 2010, enhancing our beautiful resort and location.
UNIT DESRIPTION
Our sixth floor Unit is just steps away from these beautiful beaches and emerald green waters and there is easy access from the Unit to all of the “The New Islander’s” fun activities and the vacation qualities of the Destin area. Most importantly, the views from our private balcony are unbelievably spectacular. There are day and night time “Florida sights,” including a view of: one of our pools and gazebo, the gulf and beach, boats going to and from Destin Harbor, a lake/wildlife preserve, a sunset over the gulf 365 days a year, and the twinkling night lights of Fort Walton Beach.
Our Unit accommodates up to 6 people with a king in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the guest bedroom, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. It has: new carpeting throughout, except for tile in the entry way, kitchen and bathrooms; Cable TVs in the living room and both bedrooms; DVD/VCR, high speed internet access and WiFi. Recent upgrades include: fresh paint throughout; a new sleeper sofa, love seat, leather recliner, and 42” Flat Screen HD/TV in the living room; new bedding and a 32” Flat screen HD/TV in the master bedroom; new bedding and a 26” HD/TV in the guest bedroom; plantation shutters in both bedrooms and the kitchen; new light fixtures and counter improvements in both bathrooms; and new pictures and art décor throughout. All linens (including all bed sheets, blankets and pillows) and plenty of bath towels are provided and can be changed out. Four beach towels also are provided. Our Unit is non-smoking.
'THE NEW ISLANDER' AMENITIES
FREE beach service (one umbrella and two beach chairs:4/1-10/31); two hot tubs and two swimming pools, one of which is heated throughout the winter; fully renovated pool side baths, along with several outside showers to wash the sand off as you return from a day of sunbathing on the beach; two lighted tennis courts open till 10 pm nightly, with racquets and balls available for check out at the front desk; two shuffleboard courts with equipment available for check out; poolside pavilion/gazebo with eight BBQ grills and tables; basketball hoop (not a full court); a 1,800+ square foot meeting room on the 2nd floor--the Palm Room--, with a full kitchen, piano, card tables, lounging area and two TVs – one large screen; a coin-operated laundry facility on the 2nd floor, which is open 24 hours a day, is well lit and has six washers and six dryers and a deep bowl sink; Kayak and paddleboard rentals; and the VIP Program, which offers discounts at local attractions and restaurants.

I just can't say enough good things about this place! The view was fantastic, the staff friendly and courteous, and location was perfect! Phil was a blessing to work with right from the get go. I never had a problem getting in touch with him. This unit was comfortable like a home away from home, but also felt luxurious. I'm hoping to be able to stay again next year! Even during spring break this area was quiet and peaceful so we were able to just relax and enjoy ourselves. I would (and hopefully will) stay again and again!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Cameras just don't do this place justice. My wife and kids have been repeat renters of this incredible property. The condo was spotless, with all new furniture and flat screen TVs. The views from the place are awesome, day and night. We live only a few miles down the road, but use this place as a get away. The action and activities in the Destin area are different the where we live, and in many ways cater to our younger family members better. The pools and hot spas make for ending a day's worth of activities in a splended fashion. We always try to take advantage of the many amenities prior to heading out to any of the local fantastic restuarants. If you like cooking in, the Condo is well equipped and perfect for entertaining guest. Hard to find better rates then available at the Islander and this unit is the nicest we have stayed in.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I were married last year on this beach and it was one of the best times we ever had. This condo was one of the best we have stayed in. Very clean and the view was second to none. There pools we very clean as were the hot tub. Just being so close to the beach was what it was about. The sun set's were the best and the staff was always there to help all the time. Being so close to main drag was what it was about as the dining was always great and so close.Watching the Dolphins from the beach was always one of the best memories. Can't wait to go back. Such great memories.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We've been to this condo twice and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. The quick walk to the beach and two pools made this a great place to stay in Destin - and the beach umbrella and chairs were an unexpected extra bonus. The unit is spacious and well-maintained as are the grounds and public areas. There is much to do at the complex and surrounding area. The views, particularly at sunset, are beautiful - it's like having your own personal nature show. We will definitely be returning one of these days!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: We are from Cincinnati, Ohio and have been coming to the Destin/Fort Walton/Niceville/Panama City areas since the early 1990s. We especially liked the Destin area and specifically Holiday Isle because of the beautiful beaches and great family atmosphere. In 1994, we bought our condo at “The Islander” so we could enjoy, at our convenience, these great aspects of the area and offer them to relatives, friends and hopefully you.
Why the Owner Chose The Islander:
“The Islander,” a beach front condo resort on Holiday Isle in Destin, is all about location, location, location and reasonable prices! What more would you want if you like a beach vacation with many resort amenities and want to be close to entertainment, great restaurants, fishing, boating, water sports and fun for all ages? As described in the advertisement narrative, our condo on the 6th floor of the West building compliments these amenities and activities very nicely, and we have recently upgraded the Unit in many ways. While we aren’t on the first floor that has immediate walk out access at ground level, the distance to the resort amenities and the beach is no different than any other unit once the elevators or steps are taken to the lobby.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
What we do have are views from our balcony that are very special. There are day time views of our pool and gazebo and a lake/wildlife preserve; and views of the gulf, beach, and boats coming from and going to Destin Harbor via the East Pass. Our night time view is that of a sunset over the gulf 365 days a year and the twinkling lights of Fort Walton Beach.
Before you rent at The Islander, if that is what you chose to do, what we would like you to do is to look at the day and night views from the higher-floor units in the East building and compare them to ours in the West building. Note there is no lake/wildlife preserve or views of the East Pass, beautiful sunsets and the night lights of Fort Walton Beach. We will concede there is a view of our larger pool and a wider view of the beach and gulf, but what do you see at sunset or at night (note there are no night time photos shown for the East building units). As you can tell we are really proud of our condo and its location; thus the reason for our purchase. Of course, please check with the reservation staff at The Islander for their input and information about the pros and cons of all the units. We would like to have you stay with us but too want you to be comfortable with any unit at The Islander.
