We were attending my daughter's wedding and the house made the stay more relaxing. The owners added all those extras with our favorite being the massage chair. The house is roomy and airy. It's located close to all that Carpinteria has to offer;we congregated at the Lucky Llama a local coffee. The house was a total positive experience!

The house is actually a nicely remodeled, finely appointed "home" atop a 3 -car garage in back of the owners' home. It is located .6 miles from the ocean/beach, and it is a pleasant walk past numerous shops and restaurants. The house was very clean, well maintained and we lacked for nothing. We were there for 8 days. We ate all of our breakfasts and some of our lunches and dinners in our "home-away-from-home." It was great to be able to nosh from our own frig day and night. We also enjoyed having a glass (or 2 or 3) of wine there instead of paying $9 or $10 per glass at a restaurant. Given the length of our stay we appreciated being able to use the washer and dryer (downstairs) as needed. Rose and Bill (the owners) were on vacation until the last 2 days of our visit, but they were both very friendly and accommodating. Carpinteria is about 10 or 15 minutes from Santa Barbara and all that it offers. Carpinteria is about 50 minutes from wine country. There are literally scores of wineries. Highly recommended is the Gainey Winery. It is a fun drive up into the mountains. Ask Bill for directions. Restaurant-wise our best experience was Giannfranco's (sp?) Italian Restaurant. A bit pricey, but excellent food and service. History buffs must include a visit to the local museum. A docent will escort you through their extensive exhibits. We were a bit disappointed that more attention was not devoted to the Chumash Indians, the original inhabitants of Carpinteria. The town is essentially "smoke-free" though it is legal to sneak off for a puff as long as no one can detect any second-hand smoke. We would highly recommend the house to anyone looking for a non-hotel experience is this small, friendly community.

I would strongly recommend this rental. The owners were the perfect hosts and were very accommodating and quick to respond to our needs.A great breeze blows through the unit and if the windows are closed it is perfectly quiet. We used the spa and the hammock enjoyed every minute of it. Within a blocks walk you can find downtown with shops and restaurants.

Spacious and nicely appointed 2 bedroom and 2 bath home. Even though the home couldn't be closer to the freeway entrance, it was amazingly quiet. Comfortable and clean, the amenities were ample and just as described. Very convenient and within walking distance to fine and casual dining, it was also close to shopping and not far from the beach. Home owners were pleasant and available for assistance if needed. Would recommend to interested parties.

We had an amazing spring break. We flew in from Georgia and didn't need a thing! The house was very well stocked, the beds and pillows comfortable (my husband is very picky about pillows and loved the ones provided!), the description and pictures are just like the ones provided. The owners were very helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay nice. They even got special movies that they thought our teenagers would enjoy. We were in walking distance to shops and restaurants. I especially loved renting bikes and taking the bike trail to see the harbor seal bookery. Amazing! If we are ever on the West coast again, we will definitely return to our quiet and cozy home away from home.

My family and I stayed in this rental over spring break and it was perfect! The rental is immaculate and very comfortable. Perfect for those looking to get away and pamper themselves. I was attracted by the beautiful photos and delighted when the unit was even more stunning in person. The location is perfect for those looking to visit Santa Barbara, but wanting a more quiet place to stay. Highly recommend!

We stayed at this property for three nights to visit family and celebrate our son's birthday. This was one of the best rental properties we've stayed in. It was very well-stocked, and we couldn't think of anything we needed that wasn't there. The kitchen was beautiful, the furniture was comfortable (especially the bed and the massage chair!), and it was so nice to be able to use the patio and swingset outside. The property is close to the freeway but we couldn't hear any noise at night. We were also walking distance to the beach and lots of shops, restaurants, and stores. Best of all, Rose and Bill were very accomodating and even stopped by with some extra toys for our son to play with. We hope to stay again the next time we're in the area.

Fabulous place! Everything about this home is of the highest quality and comfort! From the beds, including the hide a bed in the living room, the linens, the dishes, even the pictures on the wall are wonderful! The house is on Linden Ave, but behind another house, so extremely quiet and SAFE! They got the hot tub cleaned and set up the chiminea ready to go. It was so nice. A few block walk to the beach, along Linden Ave, so you see all the shops and restaurants! We will be back!!

We were very happy with our stay at this location. It was beautifully decorated and immaculate; much prettier than the photos. Everything was very close so we never had to get into our car to drive anywhere, which we didn't! And even though the freeway seemed like it would be too close, we actually didn't hear it. The beach was walking distance and there were lots of places to investigate on foot. The owners were very gracious and helpful with anything needing attention. I would recommend this property to anyone needing to get away, or wishing to stay someplace reasonably priced, but elegant and close to Santa Barbara. It is on the second floor and there are stairs, but that and the private patio made it a wonderfully private and cozy place for my family to reconnect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Everything was exactly as advertised, and even exceeded our expectations in terms of amenities. It's centrally located on the main street of Carpinteria, a friendly town along the gold coast with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the USA. It's got everything you need within walking distance: great restaurants, grocery stores, shops and an incredible sandy beach. The 101 freeway and the main Amtrak line are also close by for quick trips to Santa Barbara and wine country. The property itself still manages to feel secluded despite being close to downtown, owing to the large number of trees. The neighbors on the adjoining property were very friendly and helpful. There were 6 of us -- it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but we would definitely stay again. Highly recommended for couples and small families.

Our party of 4 spent a weekend at this great house. The furnishings were very nice and the beds were extremely comfortable. We cooked in a couple of times and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The Carpinteria Avocado Festival was going on just a block down the street. We walked to the beach - just a 10 minute walk. This location is also close to the Santa Barbara Polo Club, where there are Sunday matches during the spring, summer and fall.

Owner response: October means the Avocado Festival in Carpinteria! The 2011 fest was Carpinteria's 25th and much stayed the same since our first festival, but much has also changed. One of the most significant additions to Avofest is our fierce commitment to going green and we aren’t just talking avocados… • We are a No Styrofoam Zone • Use Biodiesel for our generators • Boast an overall diversion rate of 74%! • AND, we honor the City’s ordinance on public smoking Plan your next Carpinteria vacation in October for a real treat and your own parking space :-)

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Santa Barbara area. We loved your vacation rental and were pleased that it was fully equipped with more than we could imagine! It made our vacation extra special and comfortable. We only wish we could have stayed longer :)

Owner response: During your stay, you may want to try Whale Watching in Santa Barbara. Known for one of the best whale-watching areas in the world with nearly 30 different types of whales and dolphins visit the region each year from mid-May-November, whale-watching cruises take visitors out to see the blue whales - the world's largest mammals. December through May, the Santa Barbara channel plays host to the pacific gray whale migration, one of nature's greatest shows. More than 28,000 of these graceful mammals hug the coastline along their migration between Alaska and Baja. Two-hour to half-day whale-watching cruises depart from SEA Landing and the Santa Barbara harbor.

The vacation rental was spotlessly clean and newly decorated in a Spanish/Coastal motif. It felt so relaxing just to hang out there, but of course we were usually investigating the cute downtown, eating at one of many great restaurants, or walking the short distance to the beach. My idea of the perfect vacation involves never getting in a car unless I really want to, and there's certainly no need to drive when you're staying here. But when we wanted to, there was easy freeway access so that we could drive to the many Santa Barbara area attractions. The owner lives near and is always helpful. I was glad to pat her two dogs once in a while to help with my missing mine! I completely recommend this lovely vacation rental.

This place was amazing and we will definitely be coming back! We had such an wonderful time at this house. From cool nights spent by the outside chimnea and spa to warm beautiful afternoons under an umbrella on Carpenteria beach, this vacation could not have been any better. The owners are fabulous with no detail overlooked. They gave us lots of recommendations on places to go in Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez, and they are very warm and friendly. House was modern, clean, beautifully decorated and beds were super comfy! Short walk to amazing restaurants in downtown Carpenteria. This place has it all! Thank you!

Owner response: Carpinteria is a quaint and beautiful beachside community. Check out Carpinteria, California to gather up your personal points of interest. We are also a short distance to Summerland, Montecito, Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley.....look up all these areas for a fabulous time!

We've just returned from a super week in this beautiful house. Clean, comfortable, high end furniture and appliances. Lots of nice attention to detail, loved the massage chair and portable one in the bedroom! We spent most nights just sitting in the garden, using the bbq and spa tub, and the chiminea was great for the chillier evenings. My girls just loved the garden with swing set, and spent their first morning picking fresh, ripe Apricots from the tree for breakfast. The house is in a great location, a stroll down lovely Carpinteria main street takes about 10 minutes to get to the beach, lovely to be able to park the car and walk everywhere, lots of nice eating places for dinner and great to walk home afterwards. Lovely Santa Barbara only 12 miles away for great shopping! Bill and Rose were just charming, not intrusive at all, but gave us some great tips on where to go, they were there if we needed anything. We will be back!

Owner response: Keeping up the quality of the good life at our vacation property is an ongoing and loving process. Our guests always come first and their comfort is of utmost importance to us. Our wish is to see our guests return to this magical area and allow us to make them feel at home again. The goal is to make the vacation the one that will be fondly remembered. Thank you for staying at our vacation rental. Sincerely, Rose and Bill

Not only is the location fabulous, the amenities couldn't have been better. We didn't want to leave. We would definitely recommend it to friends and we plan on going back again this summer.

Owner response: I'm so happy that our guests enjoy staying at our house. We now have more to offer and enjoy, like 2 HDTV's, spa in the downstairs patio, new La-Z-Boy Queen size sofa bed (has air mattress for extra comfort), dining table for 6 people, King size bed in 1 bedroom, I Joy massage chair, etc. Being in Downtown Carpinteria is such a treat! Not only is the beach down the road but some really fine restaurants (Sly's, Gianfrancos and Corktree Cellars among so many more). Our greatest joy is being able to walk everywhere and our grand kid's love to walk to the Carpinteria Community pool for a dip in the pool or ride their bikes throughout this quaint beach side community for ice cream, etc.. All our visitors come back again and again to this wonderful spot. It's hard to stay away from Paradise and with Santa Barbara being just 12 Miles North of us, it's like a dream come true.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for two weeks. The beach neighborhood is adorable with plenty of fine and casual restaurant choices. We mostly cooked in the fabulous kitchen and ate outside. Our favorite pastime was having a brandy sitting next to the chiminea at night and then taking a stroll to the beach. It was gorgeous and peaceful. The bedrooms and baths were beautifully decorated and we loved the privacy of the unit. Even if the fantastic owners Rose and Bill were in the backyard, we couldn't hear them. We highly recommend this special place!

Owner response: We are so thrilled that our visitors have a great time and take advantage of the spectacular beach side Carpinteria area. It's a beautiful community day or night. Because we are located in "Downtown Carpinteria" a guest can have fun about town and find time for tranquility and down home comfort at our vacation rental. Being in Central California and the Santa Barbara County offers the opportunity for day trips as well. Santa Barbara City is 12 miles North of us and the Santa Ynez Valley known for delicious wine and wine tasting tours is a 35 to 45 minutes drive.
