Casa Kalafken Own by a Costarrican Chilean Family which ten years ago fell in love with this place and decide to make it their unique get away. Kalafken meaning HOUSE OF THE SEA KA in the costarrican indigenous language Bri--Bri, HOUSE and in the Chilean indigenous language Mapuche LAFKEN meaning sea, They started with the Main Villa and later constructed the Private Villa El Patron and finally the Open Social Villa. The place is full of details which they have collected during their trips… Italy, Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic…. You can enjoy the fine art collection in all the spaces, which is from the owner, a contemporary painter with several expositions on his behalf. WELCOME…..
The accomodation consists of 3 Villas with Ocean Front and one with Ocean View. Pool with Gazebo, 6 Guestrooms and Social Areas fully furnished.
At the Main Guest Room Villa, you will find in the upper level the ¨Monarca¨ Guest Room with 2 Queen beds and ¨Morfos¨ Guest Room with 2 Twin beds/or convert to 1 King Bed They Share 1 Bathroom. In the Lower Level ¨Ilang Ilang¨ Guest Room with1 Full Bed and a Niche Bed, ¨Rasta¨ Guest Room with 1 Queen Bed, They share 1 Bathroom with Double Shower to an open Garden.
At the Open Villa, is located a fully Equipped Kitchen, dining table, safebox and a beutiful pool with an amazing extensive spaces for relax when you have 180° views of the ocean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa K!!! We had three families staying here and had plenty of rooms and hammocks for all of us!! Beds were comfy with crisp white sheets.... daily maid service was perfect and had all the amenities we could ever need. Short walking distance to a great surf spot for beginners (on the inside) and advanced on the outside! A little rocky straight out front, but still could dip in to get wet. Horses were brought to our property for a sunset ride on the beach.....amazing! The sandy beach goes a long way in either direction making it perfect for early morning runs. The openness of the living/kitchen area was beautiful and never felt drafty. The owner has his artwork throughout the house.... colorful and beautiful... very talented:) Best sushi you will ever taste right down the road at Kojis...YUMMM. Bettina and family were amazing hosts and we are very grateful that they opened their home up for us to enjoy!! I can't say enough good things about the wonderful week we spent at Casa Kalafken. The compound (because it was so much more than a house) was amazing and the pool beautifuly designed with ample shade and beautiful views. We were 3 families who came to Santa Teresa to surf and quickly discovered we landed in the perfect spot. Playa Hermosa was just up the beach and Pranamar Yoga Retreat Hotel was close by with a great restaurant, yoga classes and spa services. Our hosts went out of their way to help us so that the week went smoothly - from airport shuttles to nature tours and restaurant reservations - they couldn't do enough to make sure we had a fabulous week. Now that we're back home, the only problem I can think of is how soon can we return!Owner response: Hola, Greetings from Costa Rica! Private and secluded property surrounded by palm trees and one of the more beautiful beaches the ocean with One of the best secrets of the area just in front of the property, often overlooked by the surf-oriented travelers here, is a giant tidepool.
It’s only exposed at low tide, and at that time, you will find a HUGE natural pool, larger than an olympic swimming pool.
Filled with all kinds of interesting creatures, including puffer fish and other sea life trapped here from the receding waves, it’s a really great place for families with kids.
It’s a great place for them to learn to swim, or learn to snorkel. They can also experience the sea-life close up.
