A few steps from vast and sweeping Heceta Beach, the Glass Beach House is a romantic and relaxing getaway. Enjoy beautiful Pacific sunsets, intimate moments with friends and tranquility that only the ocean provides. With a panoramic view, the Glass Beach House becomes a theater for the dazzling squalls as they dance across the ocean horizon during the day and a planetarium for star gazing at night. Storm, sky, and whale watching have never been more exciting than from this beautiful home.
Colorful walls, oak, slate, and tile floors with area rugs, silk wall hangings, and beautiful art glass make this home special. The two kitchens provides room for cooking elaborate meals to entertain family and friends. The separation of floors provides privacy for more than one family or a space for children to play games or watch TV while the adults socialize upstairs.
This home has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The second floor has a great room with a new flat screen TV, a kitchen and dining table for 8.The master suite on the second floor has a king-size bed and sitting area with a sink in a custom-made vanity. The shower and toilet are in a separate room in the suite. A walk-in closet provides plenty of storage space and a small dressing area. There's a bathroom with a tub/shower for guests. The second bedroom is nearby and has a cozy queen-size bed.
The first floor includes an arched entryway and looks into the smaller kitchen and den area with the games, TV, books, and futon. Two bedrooms with queen-size beds and ADA bathroom complete the first floor.
The Glass Beach House is the perfect location for Oregon Coast activities, we recommend a car for traveling the short distances to exciting sites: The Oregon Dunes (south); Sea Lion Caves (10 miles north); Historic Old Town; Siuslaw River; Heceta Lighthouse; Cape Perpetua.
Golf, fish, hike, surf, sail, kayak, skate, sandboard, comb the beach for glass floats, shells, and agates or stay indoors and relax with a good book. We know you’ll have a memorable time at the Glass Beach House and will want to return often.

The glass beach house is a very spacious and comfortable place. I love the view of the waves from the kitchen and living room. On our last visit, we spent the day walking on the beach, visiting the tidepools near Yachats, and hiking the dunes at Honeyman Park. We enjoyed coming back to the house to watch movies and nap on the couch. The kitchen was also great because it had plenty of room and supplies for us to make some nice meals. I can't wait to go back again to the glass house!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed here with two children under 4 and 3 adults and had plenty of space as well as privacy. I have never slept in a more comfortable bed, the pillow top mattresses, comfy pillows and nice bedding made all the difference. You can also cook any kind of meal, the kitchen is fully stocked and there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out. We had such a great weekend staying close to the house, the perfect beach is just a stroll away so we never had to get back in the car again. Thank you Anne and Mike for making such a great home away from home. Will definitely be back, hopefully an annual retreat!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We stayed here for a girls' weekend, and it was fantastic. The kitchen and living room were comfortable and roomy enough for all of us to enjoy time eating and playing together with the kids, and everything is clean and well cared for. We also all appreciated having our own bedrooms and bathrooms, especially when it was time to take a nap in the afternoon sun that streams through the many windows. Plus, the downstairs den and bedroom provided a quiet place for baby and toddler bedtimes while the adults could keep enjoying themselves upstairs. We loved this house so much that we are planning on staying here as our new annual fall family tradition!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My first stay at the Beach House was several years ago. I have been back at least once a year since. Whether for a family gathering or a peaceful retreat, it never disappoints. The calm that comes from the sight and sound of the ocean and the beautiful glass art is extraordinary. Much thought has been put into making your stay comfortable, from the fine linens to the warm wood floors and comfortable beds. Relax and rejuvenate at this beautiful beach home.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: I retired from teaching in 2007, my husband is a private investigator. We enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, snorkeling, and tennis.
Why the Owner Chose Florence:
We bought an older 700 sq. ft. beach house in 2000 and turned it into a 2000 + sq. ft. vacation rental. We chose the Heceta Beach area because it's an hour from our home in Eugene. It is located in a remote area north of Florence. So it's a short drive to town where we find all the conveniences of a larger city...interesting places to visit, great restaurants and shops.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our house has an abundance of glass-- windows and art glass. The large windows bring the coast experience into our living space with views of the ocean from every room. It is designed as a duplex, but has instead become a great space for family gatherings, reunions, book club weekends, and business retreats. Two fully equipped kitchens makes entertaining a delight. Our son and his wife love to drive over from Portland to surf. We enjoy walking on the beach first thing in the morning and in the evening after a dinner of fresh crab or salmon.
