A very relaxing and peaceful place to stay. Walking paths are close by, the stream provides great ambience. Enjoy a nap in the outdoor hammock or a dip in the hot tub. Don't forget the sauna and steam shower. If you need to relax and unwind, and you want to be one with nature.....this is the right place for you.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so happy that you enjoyed our mountain home as much as we do.

This house is an absolute gem! We had four couples together and never felt crowded. There is so much space for everyone to enjoy. As other reviews have said, the kitchen and grill are amazing. We all love to cook and there is plenty of room to have multiple cooks in the kitchen. Great appliances and utensils, as well as a fabulous kitchen layout. The fireplace made the home cozy. We were allowed to bring our yellow lab with us. She had a blast playing outside and running down to the creek. However, our favorite part about the house was the seclusion from other homes and the "spa" treatments (hot tub, steam shower, & sauna). We can't wait to rent this house again and just hope that it's available!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family of five just spent four peaceful days at this this property and it was exactly what we needed! The spacious house provides plenty of room to be together or apart as you wish. The grownups loved sitting by the fireplace and reading, the kids enjoyed the game stations in the basement, we all streamed movies at night over the internet connection. The hot tub under the stars on a frosty night is beyond words! The beds are comfortable, the bedrooms spacious, and the common rooms weren't at all crowded when another family of four came to spend the day with us. Downhill from the back yard, the creek and hiking trails are lovely. We didn't hike as much in the frosty January weather as we would in a warmer season, but I can say without reservation that this is a place I want to return, to take in more of the natural beauty of the Big Canoe area. We absolutely will be back! And though you're unlikely to have a problem with cleanliness or supplies, the owners are very prompt and helpful in replying to any questions or concerns. We strongly recommend this property!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Absolutely beautiful accomodations, you cannot find a more perfect place to stay. The pictures do not do justice to the home and the surroundings. My only regret was not staying longer, 3 days just wasn't enough to enjoy everything the house had to offer. My stay included myself, my husband, and my 3 sons ages 3, 11, 18 and everyone was able to find age appropriate activities. My favorite part of the trip was enjoying my coffee on the covered porch watching the deer in the mornings.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We really needed just some time to get away, have a change of scenery and relax. Hemlock Hollow feels like a home away from home. It was a beautiful weekend to play golf, take the kids to the playground, grab some lunch at the club house, play cards, read a book, take a nap, cook for friends, and relax. We invited another couple who also have a toddler and there was plenty of room for everyone. Hemlock Hollow has so many cozy places to snuggle in and relax, read, chat, have hot tea, etc. There is plenty of room for everyone. Many rentals don't have everything you need to be able to cook most of your meals there, this kitchen was well stocked. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were very nice too. We only wish we had more time to be there. We will be making plans to come back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Hemlock Hollow was the perfect get-away for my wife and me. When I walked in and walked through the fit-for-Southern-Living-and-beyond 'cabin' I just smiled and laughed. It's a wonderful combination of class and comfort. The property lends itself to optimum privacy and peace. There's no other way to say it. The 'hammock house' as I call it is a screened-in Southern Sanctuary overlooking a waterfall and lush greenery. One's soul finds refreshment and your batteries are recharged in that place. And enjoying a hot tub that features an adjacent outdoor fireplace and creek down below is hard to beat. This was by far one of the best stays of our marriage. We highly recommend it and wish we were still there!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: What a wonderful review and we are so happy that you enjoyed our mountain home and will come back again.

What an incredibly wonderful mountain getaway. We loved the secluded feeling and quiet of this home-yet was so close to main gate! Decor is absolutely perfect- every room beautiful and upscale yet inviting; the bed in the master bedroom was heavenly. We appreciated the very well equipped kitchen. Access to the Big Canoe trails couldn't be better; felt like we were hiking in the wilderness but were only minutes from the cabin. We felt physically, mentally and spiritually refreshed after our weekend here, and can hardly wait to return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: What a wonderfully worded review. It is so nice to hear that you liked our mountain cabin as much as we do.

Last year we stayed in a placed called "Almost Heaven". Well, this is...." Heaven!!!!" This house is truly amazing! I have never had a mountain home that was decorated so nice and put together with total comfort and movement and have everything at your fingertips. Anything you might possibly need, this house will have it - night lights, flash light, games, step stool for kids, draw full of pens, notepads, measuring tape, etc..... The location is perfect. We went on every trail from the house with 6 kids and 4 adults(even a 2 and 3 yr old hiked all the trails). We loved going to the open field area by the park and play family kickball. The true feeling of a mountain house is in the woods and this house has it completely. The owners are very helpful in answering any questions or concerns. After staying in this house you will feel so relaxed and will be longing to come back very soon!! Thank you for a fabulous weekend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
