This place had it all! Quiet, spacious, beautifully decorated, felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel! It is VERY COMFORTABLE cabin, especially the beds. Great for kids and adults. Loved the hot tub, the jacuzzi, and the SAUNA! I can't imagine there is a better place to rent in Big Canoe.
Owner response:We feel like it is the best rental house in Big Canoe and really appreciate your comments. Please come back soon.

Last year we stayed in a placed called "Almost Heaven". Well, this is...." Heaven!!!!" This house is truly amazing! I have never had a mountain home that was decorated so nice and put together with total comfort and movement and have everything at your fingertips. Anything you might possibly need, this house will have it - night lights, flash light, games, step stool for kids, draw full of pens, notepads, measuring tape, etc..... The location is perfect. We went on every trail from the house with 6 kids and 4 adults(even a 2 and 3 yr old hiked all the trails). We loved going to the open field area by the park and play family kickball. The true feeling of a mountain house is in the woods and this house has it completely. The owners are very helpful in answering any questions or concerns. After staying in this house you will feel so relaxed and will be longing to come back very soon!! Thank you for a fabulous weekend!

We just returned from the most wonderful weekend getaway completely relaxed and refreshed. We are already ready to go back to this house. This is not your typical mountain rental. This is a 5-star fully renovated and updated house in a secluded part of Big Canoe with all of the amenities you could imagine. We loved walking out the back to the hot tub overlooking the rushing creek below as well as walking out the back and onto the hiking trails that wind through Big Canoe. We also enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and relaxing by the fire. The bedrooms are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. We don't have a single criticism of this place. We will definitely be back!

Above and Beyond Expectations

My family (6 adults and 1 baby) spent the couple of days between Christmas and New Years at Hemlock Hollow. It exceeded our expectations by far-the pictures do not do this place justice. Around every corner is another hidden treasure. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, and every room was a great entertainment area for playing games, eating/drinking or just reading by the fire. The bedrooms are incredible-no one gets the short end of the stick with this place. We loved that everyone had their own bathroom with amazing fixtures. The hot tub and fireplace outside by the river was so much fun at night to roast s'mores and relax. The secret "treehouse" with the hammock was beautiful. This would be a great place for summertime as well with all of the activities. We had a great time exploring the Big Canoe community and hiking the upper and lower waterfalls. We definitely want to come back every year!!! I have so many more wonderful things to say, but I could go on and on and on .....
Owner response:What a wonderful review. thank you very much and we look forward to you coming back.

This is a great house in a beautiful spot in Big Canoe. We spent the weekend there with 9 people (4 adults, 5 children) and everyone had a ball! The house is beautiful, spacious and is turn-key for a great get away! I would definately recommend it for anyone looking for a secluded getaway in a terrific house with beautiful scenery! Very enjoyable!!!

This beautiful mountain getaway is the perfect place to go to get away! We had 9 in our group and had plenty of room in thie great home! the bedrooms are roomy and warm, the bathrroms are beautiful, we loved the steam shower and the acres of beautiful wooded land were a blast for the kids to play in all weekend. I also loved the stream behind the house and the kids loved exploring. It was such a great get away, I'm already trying to figure out when we can get back! WE LOVED IT!

We stayed at this house over fall break and could not have picked a more perfect home for a fabulous mountain getaway. The setting was wonderful; the house is nestled in the forest above a creek and waterfall. You feel completely secluded, yet you are close to wonderful hiking and all of the fabulous amenities of Big Canoe. The house is immaculate and beautifully furnished. It is stocked with everything you could possibly want or need. It has plenty of living space, a fabulous gourmet kitchen and very comfortable bedding. The outdoor firepit and jacuzzi are a big plus, as is the wonderful sleeping porch hidden away in the woods above the creek and waterfall. I can't say enough about this wonderful home. We will definitely return!
Owner response:That you very much for the wonderful review and we are glad that you like the house as much as we do.

We have stayed in many VRBO homes over the years, but Hemlock Hollow is by far the best. There were places that we could all gather as a family(4 couples and 2 babies), and also plenty of quiet spots to enjoy nature alone. The home is beautifully decorated, and the kitchen is well-stocked for cooking family meals. The beds are very comfortable, and enough heating/cooling units to keep everyone comfortable as well. The home was also immaculately clean, and with two babies crawling around, we would know if it wasn't! Unlike some other places we have stayed, Big Canoe has plenty of activities, and they are reasonably priced. It is also close to a grocery store and several restaurants. It was a great Labor Day vacation, and we can't wait to go back!
Owner response:Thank you for very complementary review and we hope that you will come back again soon.

Selecting a home at Big Canoe to host our family reunion was rather challenging. Nine adults and three small children not only needed space for eating together and sleeping, but we also wanted a nice setting and easy access to recreational facilities. We saw great reviews for “Hemlock Hollow,” but were amazed at how the home was even more impressive than we expected. It is conveniently located near the Main Gate, yet there was the feeling of being all alone in the mountains. There were no other homes visible from the 3 acre lot. The house was spacious, beautifully decorated, and would rival any five-star resort for its ambiance. In spite of having a house full of family, there were quiet places where we could slip away and read. The hot tub overlooks a gurgling creek, and the screened-in “sleeping porch” was some distance from the house down a stone path and next to a waterfall……the perfect place to get away and take a relaxing nap in the hammock. Wonderful memories were made during the reunion, and we can’t wait to return!
Owner response:Thank you for the fantastic review that really tells the story of Hemlock Hollow.
