Imagine a vacation where the only things you hear are the birds, a gentle breeze in the trees, and nothing but peace.

Our beautiful, 2300 square foot, three-story Woodland Park retreat is set in three completely private, tranquil, aged pine and aspen acres of high Colorado mountain woodland.

We have named our home "Woodland Park Retreat" and are offering it for rental to help us keep it for our future retirement. It has three spacious bedrooms and a huge 21-foot loft bedroom all with terrific comfy, good-quality beds, designer bathroom fixtures and a fabulous cherry wood, fully-fitted designer kitchen with talking fridge,stainless-steel appliances, Corian countertops and center island.

The house is decorated in a soft yellow cream throughout and is bright and airy with enormous windows and plush carpeting, tiled entrance and designer flooring in the kitchen.

The Great Room has a vaulted beamed ceiling with patio door straight out to the spacious redwood, wrap-around deck to view the distant and often snow-capped mountains. Pine trees weave their way through the deck and, in different seasons, you can watch the brilliant blue Stellar Jays and tiny Hummingbirds feed. Or enjoy the Mule Deer as you dine either inside or al fresco on the deck.

Go down to the lower deck and take a relaxing dip in the large, and completely private, six to eight person hot tub. This is especially magical when it is snowing or while star gazing as there is no light pollution here! If it is a winter vacation, snuggle down in front of the fires (on both levels) and sit down to enjoy a good read or a movie from our selection.

We make a promise that you will have a wonderfully peaceful (or busy if you so wish!) vacation in our fully-furnished and well-equipped home with great quality mattresses, plenty of space and lots of conveniences including satellite television, 42" plasma HDTV, DVD, VCR sound system, etc. Every thing you could need has been catered to including a further family area for lounging, games (a variety of board games provided together with table and chairs). New Migun FAR Infrared Massage Bed to use all you want!

Woodland Park - City Above the Clouds - is only a 10-minute, rural drive away through meadowland, past Pikes Peak forest hiking trails and the nearby golf course. Woodland Park offers many amenities including restaurants, lots of stores and a quaint, old-fashioned main street complete with antique and cowboy clothing stores. It also boasts up-to-the-minute grocery stores, movie rentals, fast food outlets, gift shops, hairdressers, movie theater, etc. Plenty to do and see.

Colorado Springs and "Old Colorado City" are only a 40-minute drive and historical Manitou Springs is about 30 minutes as is the entrance to Pikes Peak, Cave of The Winds, and The Cliff Dwellings. A must-see is the truly fabulous Garden of The Gods or hike around Florissant's Petrified Forest, also about 40 minutes away. Denver is an hour and a half away as is the Breckenridge ski area. Please contact us for any information you need and we will do our utmost to help and make your stay enjoyable.

A snow plow is on-site and snow-plowing service is provided for deep snow. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended in winter.

Amenities include two double-bedrooms and a queen-bedroom with romantic canopy bed, full closets, a loft bedroom with one full-size and two twin beds, full closet. Three designer bathroom facilities with Corian counters. The Great Room has a dining area with large table and chairs, an entertainment center and new microfiber couch and love seat. The laundry room is on the main level. Portable crib and booster seat is available for infant/toddler.

There are books, games and movies in the family room, hot tub, two decks with patio dining furniture and barbecue, heating and electric hot water. The home is on three acres of secluded woodland in the middle of Pikes National Forest.

Additionally, there is a Play House in the private woods. Not strictly a "tree house" but suitable for children; it has it's own deck and "furniture" and will sleep 2-4 children. It cannot be seen from the house and is about 200 ft away.

  • We had a wonderful time at the Woodland Park Retreat. The birds and wildlife we're so fun to watch and the kids enjoyed some great "pinecone baseball" games. We loved relaxing in the hot tub at night and would definitely recommend this home to all our friends and family.

  • We just had an idyllic stay at the Woodland Park Retreat. 3 inches of fresh snow made it a winter wonderland! It is exactly as described, and I must agree with the prior comment that it is exactly as described. Our family of 6 adults and two small children had ample room to spread out, and the kids loved sledding. The adults enjoyed the tranquility, the deer outside in the morning, and the well-stocked kitchen. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

  • We recently enjoyed the use of your home for our family vacation. Everyone's eyes just opened wide as they went inside and you could hear a collective "WOW" as they walked around and saw everything that was there. It was much more than we had anticipated. It is rare that things are better than advertised, or even just as good as advertised, but in this case it was everything and more. The kitchen was fully supplied with utensils and dishes, the upkeep was fantastic with everything recently stained, even the towels were better than any motel you could stay at. We had our three grown children and their families with us and there was room for everyone to spread out and not be on top of each other. And finally, you even had sleds to use. How thoughtful was that! Our damage deposit was returned within 7 days with no hassle at all. We'll be telling everyone we know about your home for vacation. Thank you for everything.   • The accomodations were first class and the scenery was spectacular. The location was perfect - not too far fram town but it seemed like you were way up in the mountains - great for our two grown sons who love to flyfish - every morning they fished the South Platt River near Deckers (only about 15 minutes from the retreat). Our 4 year old grandson thought it was really cool being in the mountains and going on an "adventure". All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we'll definitely be back.

  • Very much a 1st class home. The privacy was great, the accomodations very comfortable. 3 full bathrooms and 3 private bedrooms with an additional loft that had 2 T and 1 D bed made for a week where 6 people could have their own space. Washer/ dryer conveniently located on the main floor. Kitchen very spacious and had everything we needed and then some! We played in the snow with the sleds and had a ball. We played board games every nite and watched a DVD movie every nite also. Both are provided. We all had massages on the professional massage bed. All in all, this was the BEST home we've ever rented. We will definitely stay there again.

  • First of all, I just wanted to thank you for opening your beautiful home to us. We had a wonderful stay and experienced Colorado and the mountains like never before. The snow fell and blanketed the area with a white layer of beauty and majesty. We have been to Colorado many times, but have never gotten to see it with snow (except on the mountain tops of course) – so it was a dream come true. Our family enjoyed meals together without the hustle and bustle of a restaurant. We hiked and explored during the day and came in for wonderful family evenings together. We enjoyed football on the flat screen TV and just had a wonderful time of rest and refreshing. We also enjoyed meeting Charlie and Susan – they are wonderful, sweet people. You are very blessed to have them as caretakers.

  • We spent New Year's week at this wonderful home. Easy to get to, comfortable to be in, and beautiful to look at--inside and out. Everything was perfect--hot tub was warm and waiting for us, the massage table was a fabulous way to relieve stress, and the furniture--tables, sofas, beds, etc.--were all soooo comfortable. The pictures were enticing, but they don't do it justice. The wildlife and light snow added to the magic. Don't hesitate, this is a great place.

  • We just spent Christmas week of 2007 at the retreat and it was absolutely wonderful (white! white! white!) We had lots of snow for the kids to play in right there on the property. The retreat was really comfortable and the kitchen was missing absolutely nothing. My kids really enjoyed the game room downstairs. I am really hoping to go back in the summer time and enjoy all the water activities available in the area.
