My kids love wading in the creek in the summer time and sledding down the drive way in the winter! They have spent many a day exploring the forest, finding indian holes, picking up pine cones, going for hikes, and picking wild apples or blackberries with hopes of making it back to the cabin with enough fruit to make desert(fruit rarely makes it back) . Most of their nights are spent roasting hotdogs and marshmellows out by the firepit, or if the weather is too cold playing family boardgames which they seem to greatly enjoy! This all makes for the perfect opportunity to have some QUALITY family bonding time in todays rushed world that is filled with distractions....morecollapse

My family of 3 generations enjoyed our time at this secluded, peaceful, and confortable cabin. Everything that listed and mentioned in listing was correct and more. We feel right at home the moment we arrived. We can hear the whispering sound of water from the creek behind the house. The cabin is suitable and match our plan. We spent day one at Bass Lake, which only 20-30 min away, and back at the cabin in the evening. Day two, to Yosemite took about 1 hour drive, and day 3 at King Canyon for the famous sequoia tree. When we back at the cbin in the evening, we had our evening walk around the quiet and peacful sorrounding. Our family of 12 had packed and prepared food/ grocery for this stay and for picnicking and BBQ, so we are good and ready eventhough the closest market was only 10 min away at NorthFork. We will definetely consider this cabin for our next vacation at that area. We would like to go back again

I loved this place. It has everything you need. Just bring some groceries and your set. The surrounding area is beautiful. Literally only feet away from Whiskey Creek and bout 30 minutes from the falls. The best part was being able to take my best friend with me, my dog, Sundae. They had no questions about breed as long as your dog or dogs are well-behaved. I will definitely be back!

When we stopped by the nearby ranger station to ask for directions and suggestions, the employees seemed shocked that we were staying in the Bass Lake area. It isn't off the main drag or super close to Yosemite. However, it is beautiful as it is remote. Located off a series of rural roads (not nearly as complicated as Google Maps makes it seem) and cut off from cell phone service (we had AT&T and T-Mobile, and I'm glad we printed out the directions) you are truly out in the woods. If you're connected to your iPhone or BlackBerry--or are just on a deadline where you need to check voicemail or email--you might want to stay elsewhere. But once we got used to the idea of being off the grid, we really enjoyed our time tucked away in the forest within earshot of a roaring creek. The cabin is spacious and well-equipped--not modern but not lacking in any way. There is not only a ton of beds packed into each of the rooms but also a pack-and-play and children's bed. The kitchen has all the pots, pans, and staples you cold ask for. And there's also plenty of wood for the pot-belly stove, which we loved. We also loved the huge windows in the living room, providing plenty of light, making the public space feel extra airy, and framing an incredible view when we woke up to a dusting of snow. I could imagine nice outdoor meals and hanging out time on the plentiful outdoor furniture, but we spent most of our visit in Yosemite (a not-short-but-easy 30-minute drive to the South Entrance). If you don't mind driving, the cabin is an ideal spot and a great value for sharing lovely breakfasts, preparing nice packed lunches, and coming home for nice family dinners before crashing out and doing it all over again.
