Our family had a lovely time at this beautiful home. The house is beautiful! It was nice to have a big yard for all of the children play at. It was nice to have plenty of space outside too!

Excellent property, and the town had more than we expected, just from few miles we found Tanger outlet, Walmart, Snow skiing, Ice skating, Hiking, etc. We really enjoyed the cabin, had zero complaints. fully loaded, bathrooms and bedrooms well distributed, all we needed was there. As for the showers, different from ours at home, once you learn the trick you are good to go; don't turn the knob all the way to the end, just close enough, and leave it about a minute, then gradually move it to the right. It worked for me. The art from the owners was like a gallery, really impressive. The communication with the owners was always prompt and helpfull for any question or concern. Really nice people. Everything was very luxurious and comfortable, we had such a great time, a wonderful experience. HIGHLY recommended. All stars.

Just spent a phenomenal week celebrating my 60th birthday at what we dubbed Piedra Palace, in a convenient location and with a lovely view of my beloved high country of North Carolina. Parked as many as 10 cars in the spacious driveway, and still had room to turn around to drive down the hill. Palace perfect for entertaining, as foot traffic flows from entry to living to dining to kitchen in an easy circle. Kitchen offered plenty of equipment and counter space for multiple chefs to prepare delectable offerings. The 5 bedrooms sleep 12 and the 3 full baths and 2 half baths offered ample space for our house party of 8 to enjoy privacy and simultaneous dressing. Attentive owners made rental easy and carefree for an amazing vacation.

My family and I had a great stay at this property. Plenty of room for everyone and very comfortable. Both the kids and the adults loved the pool table! The best thing about the house is the location. Minutes from Tweetsie Railroad, Blowing Rock, Boone, & the Blue Ridge Parkway, so there is a lot to do. The owner was extremely helpful and easy to work with.

After searching for a home for my family to rent in the Boone/Blowing Rock area, I came across this property...the location is perfect for those with children!! We were in the area for two weeks and wanted to be close to lots of activities...this property was it! The home itself was large enough to accommodate our family as well as those visiting while we were there. Only complaint was the small bed in the fabulous master suite...we gave that room to our nanny because the bed was too small. We went to the other en suite bedroom that had a king...it all worked out. The kitchen was wonderful as was the gas grill out on the patio. We did have to purchase some chairs at WalMart due to lack of patio furniture, kind of a bummer since the weather was wonderful and we like eating dinner outside while the kids play. The location was literally 8 minutes to downtown Blowing Rock and about 15 minutes to Boone...Tweetsie Railroad, perfect for our family with children under 5, was only 5 minutes away!!! Plenty of playgrounds and walking trails all within 15 minutes of the house...can't recommend this house enough if you have smaller children and want to be able to do activities yet also be close enough to home so they don't fall asleep in the car. The easy single story floor plan was great for my 89 year old grandmother...she was able to be included in everything, even bath time for the kids!! If the house doesn't sell, we will be back!

This home indeed shows well and has upgraded features, but had numerous issues such as being a dirty home. There were unclean cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms with unsure articles, medicines of all kinds left, chemicals left all within reach of children, unclean toilets, broken kitchen chairs, no dining room furniture, no dresser or chesters to put clothes in room , no bedside tables in the 5 bedrooms except the master suite which had broken chester drawers...no toaster, no can opener in kitchen, although a beautiful patio area grill was dirty and unclean and food particles left on grill, no patio furniture so no place to sit and animal feces left on patio, pantry dirty in kitchen, fingerprints left on kitchen appliances upon arrival, kitchen towels stained and dirty and some bath towels were found stain and dirty, firealarm went off during breakfast because dryer hose was not connected to outside venting , no window treatments in bedrooms while windows in four bedrooms face a street, therefore no privacy, in breakfast notch there was a small table with only 4 chairs that did not match table and there was no way to get guests around table to eat together so had to take turns since that was the only table in this house, the showers were a constant problem, our grandkids and ourselves either got served with very hot or very cold water the showers did not work properly for temp control...definite plumbing problem here...mirrors and framed, glass pictures left on floors and not hung up this could be a potiental problem if pictures or mirror failed and children cut themselves. I could go on and on...but I and my guests how have traveled all over the world and stay in many luxury homes and resorts were very disappointed and would not recommend this home to anyone.

Owner response: I was very concerned to read about this, especially since this guest did not contact me at all during their stay. Upon my inspection, I found most of the complaints unfounded. The house was very clean, and I checked in all cabinets for dirt and any unsafe items which I found none. As stated in our contract, I need to be notified UPON ARRIVAL if anything is unsatisfactory. I can not determine that there was sub par cleaning unless you let me know at the beginning. I have made the minor repairs (drawers and dryer vent) that were scheduled, and also not brought to my attention upon arrival. I am sure these small details, along with the mismatched chairs really disrupted your stay, and I apologize. I also had no trouble locating the can opener. There are no plumbing issues we can determine. Everything was working properly. This is still a residential home, not a hotel. If you turn on all three showers at once, there may be hot water supply comfort issues. We go to great lengths to ensure that our home and contents are cleaned and sanitized after every guest. We take great pride in this, want every guest to enjoy it as we do, and would certainly want to know if something is not right when you arrive!

We stayed here Aug 21 - 28 and were delighted with our accommodations. Owners were gracious and very easy to work with. The description of the residence was right on and all was clean and ready for 8 of us. Had a small shower problem that was taken care of almost immediately. The family area is roomy and open with a beautiful pool table right in the middle of all the activity.TVs, Wii game, music...almost anything your could ask for. Kitchen is well equipped and the commercial gas range is awesome. There is a view from every window, it seems, of the beautifully landscaped grounds or the rolling hills. The early part of the week we had 2 small children (age 2 and 5) with us. When we made the turn into the driveway of the house the 2 year old said "wow....we made it to the castle" so we called it our castle the rest of the week. Tweetsie is only about 10 minutes away. We also enjoyed Julian Price Park picnic area with the kids playing in the stream about 15 minutes away. The later part of the week was to attend a family wedding. We had a handicapped grandmother with us. It was so difficult to find accommodations that would give her privacy and still keep her safe as most places in the Blowing Rock area offer only 1 bedroom on the main level and she does not do stairs. We had 4 bedrooms all on one level with an extra bedroom above the garage. Nana says she wants to return every year and the 2 year old is still talking about his castle in the mountains.

Beautiful stone and wood, loved the Kitchen and Master bath! Enough bed rooms and baths for our whole group. We enjoyed the patio, with grill and it's own fridge. Many nice conveniences, clean, and beautiful craftmanship. Perfect choice for our wedding party. The Parkway was 2 min. away, as was the turn to App. Ski Mtn. Great hikes nearby. This is clearly a new home, with all the luxury touches.

We stayed here for a wedding weekend. Just a couple miles from Blowing Rock, and App. Ski Mtn, this home was beautiful. The master shower was incredible, as was the kitchen. Great patio, with huge Jenner gas grill was perfect for our evening meals. Beautiful fixtures, ample bathrooms, a fridge just for wine! Nice to be in the lap of luxury for a weekend. The Parkway was 1 mile away! Would love to buy this property.
