The large, private back yard has a Koi Pond and bridge, two waterfalls, and a gazebo. While you are in the middle of the city, the waterfalls create a peaceful environment. There is extensive ground lighting. There are eighteen flickering New Orleans gas lanterns lining the seven-foot high walls, a tribute to the past.
Perfect for entertaining, the entire house and yard are wired for sound, so bring your ipod or iphone. There are three televisions and a CD player.
In the yard there is a large gas grill, a refrigerator, a large table and chairs. The area is pet friendly with custom-built cedar fences enclosing the underside of the home. There is also a 48” double door, wire kennel for your dog.
The kitchen features a high quality brick floor made from bricks recaptured from old buildings and sliced into beautiful floor tiles. The dark cabinetry and granite countertops are striking. The stocked kitchen has a large gas range, a convection oven and a microwave convection oven. With a breakfast bar and a kitchen table, the kitchen seats eight.
The property has rich wood floors throughout the rest of the home; in each bedroom and both living rooms.
The master bedroom has a beautiful sleigh bed (queen size). The master bath has a ceramic tile floor and a large sunken whirlpool tub. In addition, there is a salt water coral reef.
The guest bathroom is decorated floor to ceiling in Italian tile. The shower has two digital thermostat control systems, two traditional shower heads, eight overhead shower heads and four body sprays.
The property also has a king size bed, two twin beds and a sleeper sofa. In addition, there is an inflatable mattress.

This house is in a good location. Only 10 minute taxi drive to French quarter. The house was clean and had all the necessary amenities. You can park one car inside the gate and the others out on the street. But it's New Orleans so parking is limited. There's cvs a block away if you need something too. All in all, I recommend this home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came here to get married and the back patio was an amazing setting. It is wired for sound, the gas lights were gorgeous and the space is just so pretty. This house was absolutely perfect. The inside is beautiful and the backyard is beyond words, you just have to see it. The owner Jeff was fantastic and the neighbor Jackie was so helpful. We would come back here in a heartbeat. Hopefully we will get to come back for our anniversary :-) If you stay here, you HAVE to check out Robert Fresh Market around the corner. So good. I could rave forever but the bottom line is, this is a great place and my husband and I highly recommend it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is a 5-star home! Hands Down!! Everything from the owner, the accommodations, and the amazing customer service were all five stars. My husband and I stayed here for Mardi Gras and we both were beyond pleased with this house and its location. This home was immaculate and gorgeous inside and out. The backyard was a sanctuary with the koi pond, gazebo, and bbq area; perfect for a group or for a romantic, quiet dinner for two. The inside of the house was modern, sleek, and very clean. We were not disturbed by anyone the entire trip, yet we had everything we needed at our convenience. We were able to use public transportation to get downtown with ease; it’s just a 5-minute walk to the buses or streetcars. There are also a plethora of great restaurants available in a close proximity to the house. The owner of the house was an absolute blessing, and the customer service was above and beyond. We could not have asked for a better person to rent from. The only complaint I have is that our trip was too short, because we didn’t want to leave. I recommend this house to my family, friends, and anyone who wants to experience New Orleans like a local in the best accommodations possible.Did you find this review helpful? This place has got to be the "oasis" of the neighborhood! I have lived on the Gulf Coast for most of my life & have vacationed in NO more times than I can remember, so, when we arrived for our stay here I was expecting the typical NO shabby chic house decorating (my wife made the arrangements, I had not a clue as to what the place looked like). Boy, was I surprised!!! This place was so cool ,I told her "I could live here." I loved the backyard with its Koi pond and gazebo. It was so relaxing sitting out there listening to the waterfalls . And those Koi fish are HUGE! They're AWAYS begging for food. My wife is a "foodie" and absolutely loved the grocery store that was located just a couple blocks away. It carried every food item that NO is famous for and when my wife returned from shopping there, she put the big kitchen in the house to task. All I can say is ,everything that came out of there made me a very happy man! The neighborhood is fun, the house is outstanding and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. We will definitely rent there again. OH! Yeah I almost forgot. After partying in the Quarter with hundreds of my closest friends, that high tech ten headed shower was worth EVERY penny of the rental fee. We have found our perfect NO vacation base. Thanks, Finley & Jeff!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This place has so many great things to offer. Aside from the location (close to everything) when you are there you will feel as though you are in your own private oasis! Imagine yourself walking to Robert's, grabbing an great cup of coffee and a fresh beignet, hanging out in the gazebo, catching up on reading or just...dreaming a bit. I will definately come back here. I recommend you do the same! The description was spot on, the property was very clean and the back courtyard-you'll see--VERY New Orleans!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a great time staying at this home. The garden area in the back is beautiful and they have done a great job of renovating the house. The fresh market just around the corner is so convenient! We had two children with us and they loved the nearby park as well. It is easy to catch the trolley a couple of blocks away. The trolleys move slowly so it takes about 40 minutes to get to the French Quarter (less to the Garden district) but it is a great ride and there is lots to see. A three day pass is only $9. There are lots of restaurants close by and we loved the live music at the Rock-n-Bowl. This is a very convenient location.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The property is very clean, recently refurbished, and accurately described and photographed. The decor is tasteful and well-appointed touches give this home a comfy feel without being cluttered. Having spent a great deal of time in New Orleans, I found the location of this home convenient to many Uptown, Riverbend, & Mid-City Attractions. If you are not familiar with the city, I would recommend you have a car. Robert's the grocery store is conveniently located 2 blocks away---experience traditional New Orleans fare---bring home beignets & cafe au lait to enjoy in the gazebo or pick up some boiled shrimp to enjoy in the New Orleans style kitchen & breakfast nook. 2 blocks the other direction Rock-N-Bowl is located where you can catch live music almost any night of the week. Palmer Park is right down the street which is a great place to walk the dog, be sure to check local listings; often art markets and farmers markets are held there. The Carrollton line street car is easily accessible from this home. The Carrollton line will take you River-Bend, Tulane/Loyola, Audubon Park, Garden District, CBD, ending at Canal Street for a short walk to the Quarter. By car Magazine Street, Feret Street, Oak Street, St. Charles, City Park, Fair Grounds (Jazz Fest) & downtown via Claiborne are minutes away. If travel for Mardi Gras check the local listing for parade routes there are several in this area leading up to Mardi Gras day. This home is perfect for a long week because of its convenience, or consider an extended stay---it's the perfect place to hole-up and write that novel you've always wanted to...local color imagery from some of your favorite New Orleans based books is around every corner. Enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: Hi, I'm Finley. I own the house with Jeff. I am a clothing designer, born on the Gulf Coast, west of New Orleans. While I live in Dallas, I have spent much of my life in and around the Crescent City, first with my family and now with my guy, Jeff.
Why the Owner Chose Uptown-Carrollton:
Jeff actually bought the house without my knowledge. We both agreed that we wanted to be part of the regrowth of New Orleans. He has always said that the reason he bought it was so he could propose to me in the backyard. He did. (On his knees while we were on the bridge overlooking the Koi pond.) So, the house has a very strong sentimental attachment.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There is nothing like having coffee in the morning, out in the gazebo, with your closest friends or dearest family members. The gazebo is a place to talk. The waterfalls provide a soothing, peaceful environment for you to share secrets, make plans or conduct business.
