FLEAS!! Unkept! Photos were definately old and MISLEADING. It was NOT easy contacting the owner or having him return our calls. Property was NOT well maintained. We should have taken the advice of the previous "Buyer Beware" WARNING. Will NEVER rent this property, or the other properties of this owner, again.

Owner response:I am sorry this tennant had trouble reaching me. My mother was terminaly ill and passed the first week of Dec which is about the time this guest was at the beach house. The painters are in the process of prepping the house for painting the entire outside and much of the inside so there was some areas which were looking poorly. The comments were so vague that I cannot respond to most of them.

House was very clean and the Ocaen View was unbeatable! My 4 Y/O Grandson left his Portable DVD Player behind and the Cleaning Crew located it and the owner mailed it back to us in NJ. I was not sure we would see it again. Will for sure stay there again as the Owner and the Cleaning Crew as good folks!

Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children.

Our family of 14 really enjoyed the house . The location was really great and the house was very clean. We loved the fact that with 6 children we did not need to stay tense worring all the time this is a great beach house. We are all from the south and understand you check metal objects prior to using them to dry clothes on. We hope to be back next year.

This is a standard beach house that has housed many families enjoying one of the best stretches of beach on the Isle of Palms. While not being the most elegant, the price is right for an easy living, comfortable place to spend a week. The big windows and short steps to the ocean make it feel like you are on the beach whether inside or out. The owner was easily accessible and quick to respond to a problem with the a/c. We will rent the same house next time we have a family wedding!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This is a great rental property for large families. It was clean, comfortable and conveniently located with plenty of room for our family of 19. I would recommend and look forward to returning.

Our family had a grand time but not because of the condition of the house. For the rental's cost, we expected a better maintained, cleaner house (both inside and out) and a house with more updates, such as a garbage disposal. We will not rent this property again nor will we recommend it to family or friends.

My family of 19 just returned from a week at the beach house and had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for us----lots of room for everyone. The access to the beach is great and house close to shops etc. Would recommend you not sit at the table outside the master bedroom as it is rusty and gets on your clothes.

My family and I (19 total) recently stayed at this vrbo property. We were VERY disappointed in the condition of this house. To say that the house was outdated would be an understatement. The upkeep on this house has been minimal. It was dirty, dingy and we were visited by cockroaches on multiple occasions.(my sister was quite traumatized when 1 crawled across her face in the middle of the night!) I would compare the bathrooms to a very cheap hotel- gross and dirty. We actually covered the floors with towels so our feet didn't touch the tiles. When renting a multi-million dollar home on the beach you expect the home to be worth your hard-earned money, this was definitely not the case! Our neighboring houses were in much better condition and appeared to be well maintained. My parents have made our family gatherings a high priority since 1998 and having to battle our surroundings takes away from the real reason we are there! Buyer Beware! P.S. Don't put your swimsuits on the table outside the master bedroom, you'll never get the rust stain out of it...

Owner response:This is a beach house directly on the ocean. There is always corosion on anything metal especially the outdoor furniture. Most of our renters are quite happy. I do know that renters the week following a group with many very young children will find find a few areas which were missed by the cleaning crew. We are constantly using insect repellant but in South Carolina it is not possible to completely avoid insects as they can come in on food and clothing.

My group of seven women has gone to the beach together for the past 30+ years and we've had many good experiences in different oceanfront homes, but this was the best! The house was just as advertised, but we didn't have any problems with extremely high tides and spent much of our time on the beach. So much room and so many ocean views, great porches for sitting and visiting or sunning, any linens or household items you could ever want and right on the beach. The bed situation was the best as we could all have a room to ourselves, but there were plenty of extra beds for larger groups. Two great TV rooms and a very well equipped kitchen and laundry room. It's very close to shops, groceries and restaurants and only about twenty minutes from Charleston, so you can do as much or as little as you want. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning to this house. for our next girls' getaway! I would highly recommend it for anyone wishing to go with a large group who wants plenty of space for sleeping, watching TV, eating or just getting away by yourself sometimes.
