This spacious log home can sleep up to 8 people, with two bedrooms with queen beds, a third bedroom with 2 twins, and a sleeper sofa in the loft.
We are also pet-friendly, so don't leave your furry friends at home -- bring them along to share in the fun! There is a one-time, non-refundable fee of $50 per pet.
You can take a leisurely hike along the game trails through the woods on the south side of the property, or just relax on the deck with a good book. The mountain rising from behind the home gives you that 'Colorado feeling.'
Downtown Ouray is just one mile away, loaded with shops, restaurants, and galleries. If you're feeling like getting some exercise, you can walk to town by crossing the highway at the foot of the road and following the trail along the river to the Hot Springs Pool, then wandering through the park and up into town. Keep in mind before setting out on foot that there are lots of uphills and downhills in Ouray -- and it is only a 3-minute drive from the house to downtown!
The Brucker Log Home also has a new, downstairs 2-bedroom, 1-bath suite that can be rented with the home for larger families or groups. (The suite is only rented with the main house or if no one is staying in the main house.)
Ouray has its own attractions, including cascading waterfalls, rock and ice climbing, hot springs pools, hiking and jeeping. Boating and fishing are available in the Ridgway area, an easy 10-minute drive, and golf courses are available on Log Hill Mesa in Ridgway, in Telluride, and in Montrose (all within an hour's drive from the house).
Come and play in Ouray! Once you stay here, you'll want to come back again and again!

This place was beautiful and serene. Great for families and close to town and the hot springs. Had absolutly everything we could hope for in a vaction rental.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This log home is very spacioius and comes with all the amenities you could possibly need. We felt comfortable and at home as soon as we arrived. It gave a feel of being very secluded but was close to town. We enjoyed many of the activities that Ouray offered, jeeping,hiking to waterfalls, Durango/Silverton train ride. There is a diverse selection of restaurants. We would definately recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to get away. Many thanks to the owners and we are looking forward to visiting again. Owner info
About the owner: We found beautiful, unique Ouray in 1985, and as many others do, we kept coming back, mostly camping with our 4 children. Each time we came we fell more in love with this town and all that the region offers. In 2000, we built our log home as we were thinking about and planning retirement, and our children were going out on their own. We decided to share this wonderful place with others, so please enjoy ! In 2009, we completed a 2 bedroom suite in the lower level for flexibility in our own visits, and for larger groups to use as well. Jan is a retired special education teacher and Bill is a small business owner in the garage door industry. We enjoy time with our 4 grandchildren, our dachshund and cat, choir, and activities in our church.

We've always been drawn to the mountains, the streams, the beauty of forests, clear skies, rocks and formations, wildflowers, and being able to see the wildlife so near. Ouray is a place of peace and joy for us and our family. We are never bored when here. We enjoy exploring jeep trails, going to the Hot Springs Pool, visiting museums, partaking in local restaurants, and the unique shopping opportunities in Ouray. There are so many activities to choose from that span all ages of visitors. The comfortable temperatures, blue skies and white clouds, and brilliant, sparkling stars at night are bonuses. We love the mountain views, waterfalls and streams, and the overall beauty of this place. Having a log home in Ouray is the culmination of a long term dream we had, since we found Ouray in 1985, when attending a San Juan Chamber MusicFest event.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The main deck is very private and looks on the mountain behind our home. We enjoy hiking in the woods behind our home where we can view small streams and waterfalls (or sometimes bigger) and find a wide variety of colorful rocks. We like the feeling of seclusion when sitting outside on the deck, yet being so close to downtown Ouray. When it's a rainy day, the loft is the perfect place for a game of cards or a family board game. Being able to look out the many windows to see the treetops, mountains,and wildlife is peaceful and entertaining. Just down the hill and across the street, one can access the Ouray River Walk perimeter trail, and be alongside the bubbling river. Deer, birds, and chipmunks are often seen nearby. We can be active with jeep trails or swimming in the Hot Springs Pool or we can relax at home with a cup of coffee and a good book. Hummingbirds come to visit when our flowers bloom.
