  The perfect location for an ideal vacation! Arriving felt more like showing up to visit family than checking into a vacation rental. The hammocks on the screened-in porch were pretty close to heaven, and the back deck off of the kitchen was a great place to grill up some local seafood. I almost want it to stay a secret...

  This was our first visit to Edisto Island and we were so pleased with our decision to rent the Simmon's Gamecock House since my husband is a Carolina Fan. The home is just perfect for relaxing, cooking, walking to the beach, and napping. It was very quiet with very little traffic. The big kitchen allowed everyone to pitch in and help with meal preparation. The dining table seated everyone for a meal. The bathrooms were clean. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to have lots of room to relax. I also recommend the Sea Cow Eatery; delicious stuffed flounder! I also appreciate the gentleman who stopped by the first day to check to make sure everything was ok.

  I loved our stay so much that I want to book again for next year. The layout was perfect to host 4 families. Access to the beach, grocery store, and local attractions was great. Everything about our stay was A++

  My family and I spent our vacation at this house June 18 -June 25. We had a nice time and found the house to be in a great location with a wonderful layout, however I do have some concerns to share. Advertisement and email from the owner(manager) emphasized the cleaning service with special note of the "beds made up with premium bed linens awaiting your arrival". The bed linen was anything but premium! The sheets were in rolls tossed on the beds. The sheets for the twin beds were full size and one set of Queen sheets was stained so badly they looked like they had been used in a hospital or some place with great exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. They could not be used so we called the number provided for help. The gentleman who answered did his best to help us and brought us a king size sheet for the queen size bed. We also called to his attention, the ad promoted 2 refrigerators. One has labeled for owner only and closed with scotch tape. The man told us that was a concession to the owner and we should have been notified. We were not. The kitchen floor is in very bad shape and did not look like it had been cleaned. The cleaning lady came by the next day and really scrubbed it. It was clean but could not be made to look so. The closets, kitchen cabinets, and many drawer were full of owners personal possessions.Some dresser drawers contained food. The kitchen drawers and cabinets badly need cleaning out. There was old medicine, spices, and canisters of old flour, etc. present. This has not been my experience in rentals we had in the past. Also, the grills was an antique and could not be used. The gentleman who helped us told us that the first night's rent was on him and that I would be reimbursed. So far I have not received the refund.

  Owner response: Although we always try, we cannot make everyone happy. The sheets we not stained with blood at all; there was one sheet missing. We took them a 600TC 100% cotton sheet at midnight since that is when they called and had the cleaning company go in the next day and reclean to try and make these guests happy. The floor is brand new, the grill is brand new. There are no old medicine bottles anywhere. We truly hate it when customers are not happy but if you stay the entire time and then want money back you will not receive a refund. However we DID refund this guest one nights rent for her trouble of not having all of the sheets for one bed for a few hours the first night. She called at 11:46 and I had the sheets there at midnight. And we have the receipt for it.

  My daughter and her husband came in from Idaho to vacation with us at Edisto. The house was great and made our stay very comfortable. We have stayed at Edisto the last 25 years every summer and I have to say this house will be another great memory and hopefully more memories for us!!! We enjoyed the view from the porch along with the hammocks!!!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Edisto;the ease of it all was wonderful. We especially loved not having to go to a rental management company and pick up keys; it was great to just drive straight to our vacation and let ourselves in! Felt like we owned a beach house! Your house was perfect for our family. Thank you for sharing it!

  Another wonderful visit to Edisto! This house has such great access to beach and bike/walk path. The huge parking area is nice and the drive thru is so convenient for boat owners...No backing in or out! We always enjoy fresh local seafood and vegetables and your top of the line Holland grill is great for cooking those, with zero chance of flare ups! We appreciate that there are no stairs to the bedrooms and the open kitchen/family area is especially nice for bonding time. But how thoughtful to provide TVs in each room for those who want to play games or watch movies separately. The screened porch is one of my favorite places to read with twin hammocks for relaxing! This quiet and lovely location brings us back several times a year. We have been returning guests to this house for over 2 years now. Thank you for sharing YOUR beach house with others.
