Playas (General Villamil) is only an hour drive from the main city of Guayaquil, the financial and commerce engine of Ecuador. The other important city is Quito, which is Ecuador's capital.
I encourage you to enjoy the sea breeze, relax in an uncrowded, light, fine-sand beach, and order seafood and lunch meals that are conveniently priced at $3 per person, or go for a boat ride to the near Puna island for $15, lunch included.
If you are more of a surf addict, there is a nearby place where you can ride the waves: el Pelado, a 15 minute drive.
This is a 2nd floor fully furnished apartment with two rooms and two baths that can comfortably accommodate up to 5 persons. The steps of the ladder to the second floor are not steep, and the house was designed to have a comfortable, relaxed, stress free and very enjoyable atmosphere. Due to its construction material (hardwood and bamboo), the apartment remains cool even in very sunny days.
There is an onsite laundry and drying room. The apartment has tv cable, a 32 inch LCD, internet (cat 5 and wireless), kitchen, and two balconies.
You can have barbecues on the ground floor or get together with friends at night. There is a large yard to do this with a mango and an orange tree in the nearby area.

About the owner: Hi, I am Frank and I live with my partner, Cinthya, and daughter in Playas in one of the floors of the property. It has been a long family tradition to spend the beach season in Playas, and we followed it every year in the past. This is how I, from my childhood years, came to know and love Playas and later decided to move here permanently. At the same time, I really appreciate and enjoy nature a lot, which is the reason why I had the apartment constructed with as minimum cement (only bathrooms have it) as possible, searching and using local natural resources (hard bamboo from Quevedo and hardwoods from Esmeraldas) from the area instead.
Why the Owner Chose Playas:
Playas is one of the most peaceful and most untouched beach areas of the Ecuadorian coastal fronts. You can really escape from the stress here. Its people are very friendly and love the simple things: family is at the top, life enjoyment through outside gathering of family and friends is encouraged and practiced, and its people rarely engage in violence or confrontations.
