St. Willibrordus villa description
Our beautiful 3 bedroom villa is the perfect place to get away from it all without leaving behind the comforts of home. Have coffee on the terrace in the morning and enjoy total peace and quiet, interrupted only by the calls of the island's many beautiful species of birds. Watch the brilliant green parakeets, orange and black troupials, and tiny black and yellow sugarthieves while the sunlight begins to dance across the water. Enjoy the wonderful 180 degree view of the sea and watch as the occasional sailboat, cruise ship or tanker passes by. You will also experience incredible sunsets and stargazing while sipping cocktails on the terrace or floating in the pool.
The villa is located in a secure gated community perfectly situated halfway between the shopping and restaurants of Willemstad and the beautiful, secluded beaches of Westpunt. The house is wonderful for couples but also great for sharing. The layout provides privacy whether there are 2 guests or 6. All bedrooms have French doors that open onto the terraces and the sliding doors in the living room recess all the way into the walls, giving you the feeling that you are truly living in nature. The lower level is accessible by a spiral staircase inside the house, an outdoor staircase from the upper terrace to the lower terrace or a rustic stone stairway from the garden up to the parking area, insuring that guests can come and go without disturbing each other.
There is a full kitchen with dishwasher on the upper level, along with the living room, master suite, additional half bath and laundry closet with washer and dryer. The lower level features 1 bathroom and 2 bedrooms, one with a separate sitting alcove. There are refrigerators and outdoor dining tables on both levels.
The living room features a flat screen HD TV with cable, dvd and surround sound speakers. Free wireless high speed internet access is also provided.
Just down the hill is a nice waterside restaurant and a beautiful little manmade beach with chaises and umbrellas. The pier provides easy water access for swimming, scuba diving and snorkling. The most beautiful beaches on the island are just a 10 minute drive away.

We had a great stay in this lovely villa, everything is exactly as described, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The plunge pool was bigger than we expected, and so was the fridge freezer! The owner could not have been more helpful, providing lots of useful information on the property and how to make the most of our stay in Curacao, and it was great that she kept in touch with us till the last minute. Highly recommended.

Curacao is charming and rustic and this house, with its modern, functional amenities and incredibly stunning view, is the perfect place to stay! The visitor's guide provided by the owner is very detailed and very helpful. Almost any question we had was addressed in the guide and on the two occasions that we had an additional question, the owner was very quick to respond to email (wi-fi worked well). We are a party of five, three adult children and two parents, and we spent every other day at the house swimming and sunning by the pool, cooking dinner in the well-appointed kitchen, and eating on the balcony watching the sun set. What a view! On the other days, we beach-hopped (visitors' guide again invaluable) and snorkled, went to Willemstad, and basically explored the island. The house and community (gated) felt very safe, was very clean, and had almost everything we needed. The grocery store nearest the house, Centrum, was a lot of fun and had a great bakery, deli, butcher, and an assortment of toiletries and adult beverages that more than met our needs. (Note - you'll need lots of sunscreen!) Landhuis Daniel - go there for Dutch pancakes. While Christmas is the rainy season in Curacao, it only rained once in the 10 days we were there and then only for about 5 minutes. Overall, great house, great location, great island, great vacation!

We had the best week ever. The house was in the perfect location. 20 minutes to the airport and to Willemstad. The view from the porches was amazing, right to the water from the comfort of your own home! We made dinner at home most nights, and went to Karakter, the restaurant just down the hill from the house, on a couple of other nights. The visitor's guide that the owner prepared was very informative, including activities, restaurants, beaches, household knowledge, and even directions! All in all, we could not have been more happy than we were with this villa in St. Willibrordus.

Great Place to Stay
Great Place to Stay
My family and I loved this house. If you are avid snorklers, the location is close to all of the best spots on the island. We especially loved playa lagun. The information packet provised was extremely helpful for food, restaurants, etc. The recently opened restaurant in the complex also has great food and terrific views. We are definately looking forward to our next stay here!!!

We just returned from a relaxing week in Curacao, and are very happy with our decision to stay at Villa Las Verandas in Coral Estates. All the comments from previous reviewers ring true - very clean, spacious, spectacular views, etc. The private pool was such a nice perk! The owner was very helpful and responsive both before our trip and while we were on the island. The snorkeling is surprisingly good at Daaiboii beach 5 minutes away - we saw eels, sea snakes, spotted eagle rays, barracuda, and the dreaded lion fish. We also snorkeled at Porto Marie (10 minutes away), Playa Lagun (20 minutes away - also excellent snorkeling), and Grote Knip (25 minutes away - beautiful beach with very good snorkeling). The restaurant at the bottom of the hill is right on the beach with a great view and really good drinks/ appetizers. We also ate at Landhuis Daniel (close by), and Chihuahua's and Indi's Spice Bar in Willemsted. I would recommend all of them. Navigating around the island is easy. Even with contruction, we were able to venture into Willemsted twice and to the northwest end of the island with no problem. If you don't want to venture out, there is a grocery store, mini mart, and gas station fairly close by. If we ever return to Curacao, we will definitely stay at Villa Las Verandas again!!

Owner response: Thanks so much for the glowing review and for all of the great information about snorkling. We frequently get questions about the best beaches for snorkling so I am sure future guests will find this helpful. Really glad you enjoyed the island. It was a pleasure doing business with you. We hope to hear from you again.
Excellent place to vacation with all the comforts of home.....highly recommended! Beautiful caribbean views from both levels. Property well cared for and the owner provides lots of info at the property. Enjoyed the waterfront restaurant on-site too. Great location to snorkel and shore dive.

Owner response: Thanks very much for the nice review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to hear from you again next time you visit lovely Curacao.
This villa provided the perfect staging ground for an incredible week with friends. It is very clean and roomy with a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice pool. The location was excellent--close to great eateries and beaches and away from the chaos of the Williamstead.

The 6 in our party thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean, well maintained, well equipped, roomy and the view was amazing, especially the sunsets. The pool was also a treat for lazing around. The condo was spacious with all the conveniences of home. Being away from the main tourist area's provided some very relaxing times. The area was also well maintained and the security people were always friendly and helpful. The condo was within a 5 minute drive to one beach and 15 minutes to another. Both beaches were well maintained, had chairs to rent and food and beverages to purchase. There were a number of restaurants within an easy drive, but the kitchen allowed us to cook at the condo if we wanted. The only draw back was that it was approximately a 20 minute drive from the airport and Willstad so a car was required. That said, it was easy driving a car in Curacao and we drove the whole island so it provided for a lot of site seeing and shopping. We have no hesitation in recommending this rental to everyone and we would be sure to stay at the same place if we were to return to Curacao.

Owner response: Thanks so much for the great review. We are so glad you enjoyed the villa and took advantage of the wonderful things to see and do in Curacao. We hope to hear from you again if you make another visit to Curacao.
We were so very pleased with this beautiful villa. It is even more lovely than the pictures indicate. The layout is just perfect and the home is situated in such a way that it catches the most wonderful breeze. We couldn't believe how quiet the area was and how private the villa felt. The owner of this home was very responsive and provided a wealth of information about the villa and the island. My family and I would highly recommend this villa for others and would return again. Thanks so much for a great experience.

Why the Owner Chose St. Willibrordus:
We carefully researched islands and chose Curacao for many reasons: it is out of the hurricane belt, the weather is beautiful year-round, the economy is much better than in much of the Caribbean, the people are warm and wonderful. English is widely spoken in addition to Papiamentu, Dutch and Spanish. We are always torn between having a relaxing beach vacation and an active vacation of sports activities or cultural activities. In Curacao, you have all of these things - beautiful, quiet beaches, great scuba diving, snorkling, hiking, biking, sailing, etc. and also wonderful restaurants, museums, live music and shopping. You have all of the conveniences of home and that fabulous view! We chose Coral Estates because we wanted to be close enough to Willemstad to easily drive in for dinner at the great restaurants but also close to the best beaches. Coral Estates is perfectly situated for peace and quiet away from the bustle of the city, but close enough that it is a very quick trip to the airport or to the restaurants, movies, shopping, etc.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Our favorite thing is to get up early and sit on the upper terrace with our coffee, enjoying the beautiful light and watching the birds. At that hour, the temperature is always perfect and there is absolute quiet (except for the birds). Every morning, we see brilliant green parakeets, striking orange and black troupials, small yellow and black sugarthieves, tiny irridescent green hummingbirds and more. It is truly paradise. We also love stargazing from the pool or lower terrace. We turn off the outdoor lights and the pool light, float on our backs and look up at the fantastic starry sky.
