We rent our apartment for short stays. It is located in a typical Venetian building in the Rialto area, with a small courtyard and an exterior staircase that leads to the upper floors. The apartment is located on the second floor. The apartment is approximately 60 square meters and has an entryway, a living room with a comfortable couch-bed for two people, a bedroom with a double bed, a smaller bedroom with a single bed, bathroom, and kitchen. It is a comfortable and warm home, recently remodeled with lots of light and wood floors. It has autonomous heating, washing machine, refrigerator, gas stove and oven, television with video recorder, and hair dryer.

You will find everything you’ll need for an easy morning following your arrival, with the minimum necessary for a Continental breakfast in the kitchen and sheets and towels provided for your convenience. The kitchen is complete with pots and pans, silverware, plates, cups and glasses and everything necessary to cook and eat with ease.

Casa Veronica is in the Heart of the Rialto section of Venice, one of the most ancient and characteristic areas of the city, with its world famous Rialto Bridge. You will be enchanted by the Rialto outdoor market, which takes place every morning on the banks of the Grand Canal (three minutes walk). The area is a coloured mix of street stalls with tourist wares, fish, flowers, fruit and vegetables, and shops selling bread and pastries, meats, fresh pasta, cheese and Italy’s renowned prosciutto. Small "bacari," typical Venetian taverns selling wine and snacks, and homey restaurants (trattorie) line the streets. Our apartment provides a true Venetian experience.

Major tourist attractions are easily reached by foot (Piazza San Marco, 15 minutes; Campo San Polo, five minutes; Basilica and Campo dei Frari, eight minutes; the less noted but beautiful Campo San Giacomo dell’Orio with its ancient church, five minutes. The closest vaporetto (waterbus) stop on the Canal Grande is four minutes by foot.

    • Thanks again Veronica for meeting us from the Vaporetti even when we were late. As ususal you had prepared fresh fruit and had milk and Tea/coffee for our arrival. As always the appartment was spotless and the neighbours were very friendly. We love staying there and hope to do so again. You really are the perfect host. • Thank you Veronica and Gilberto for such a wonderful Venetian hideaway. We have been twice to your apartment and have booked to come again in Easter. We appreciate so much the attention to detail - the apartment is lovely and traditional and very well looked after. We love the fact you meet us from the Vaporetti each time and that you always leave good fruit, milk and coffee for our arrival. It is a wonderful experience having Venetian neighbours for a week - they are always most welcoming and pleasant when we meet. We also love the fact that the apartment is quiet but also that we can walk to the lovely Rialto market each morning for fresh fruit and wonderful fish. We hope to keep coming back for many years to come.

    • Thank you for the use of your wonderful apartment while we were visiting Venice! Veronica and her family care a lot about the apartment and about their guests having a pleasurable experience while staying there. The apartment is away from the hustle and bustle but also very easy to get to all the things we wanted to see and do in Venice. The guest book in the apartment had great suggestions for grocery shopping, dining and sight-seeing.

    • Casa Veronica is a clean, spacious, beautifully decorated apartment with all the amenities you will need. The kitchen is fully stocked, there is lots of closet space, there is a wonderful library for your perusal, umbrellas in case of rain, boots in case of aqua alta, and a mobile phone for your use. It is located in a wonderful residential area away from the crowded touristy sections of the city, yet a short walk to many tourist attractions. I especially enjoyed shopping each morning at the Rialto market & nearby shops for the meals I was preparing, but also loved the variety of restaurants & cafes nearby. It was a delight to become acquainted with Veronica & her family, and I look forward to future visits at Casa Veronica & my favorite city of the world.

    • Casa Veronica was a wonderful 'home' for my first visit to Venice, and I can't imagine a better place from which to experience this beautiful city. It was immaculately clean with everything I needed - including a lovely pot of cyclamen on the window ledge. The beds were especially comfortable - a very welcome luxury at the end of each happily exhausting day. I loved the neighborhood, especially the local campo where I drank coffee every morning, watching parents taking their kids to school and people walking their dogs. Casa Veronica is a real 'find' and I'm looking forward to returning again in the years to come.

    • Casa Veronica is a great base for an enjoyable and inexpensive stay in Venice. My family has stayed here 5 times (and counting!) at different times of the year and has loved returning to it each time. The apartment is spotlessly clean, snug during the winter and the ceiling fans in the master bedroom and sitting room make it cool in summer. It s quiet, the beds are comfy with good quality sheets and there is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and plenty of hot water to shower. A lot of thought has gone into this apartment, it even had a shoe shine kit, sewing box and a selection of umbrellas as well as the items listed. Although it has no outside space we didnt find this a problem what with having the heart of Venice on our doorstep. The eat-in kitchen has plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans etc. plus some basic essentials like coffee, tea, sugar, condiments which were handy when arriving late and a washing machine, hang your clothes out on the washing line to dry Venetian style! We cooked some great meals with the fantastic produce bought at the Rialto food markets a few minutes away. There is also a well stocked delicatessen and some interesting artisan shops just steps away from the apartment entrance. Rialto, Campo San Giacomo d all Orio and Campo San Polo are closeby and there are some great restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood (Antiche Carampane, Alla Zucca, Al Nono Risorto, Vecio Fritolin and Al Prosecco to name but a few). The closest Vaporetto stop at San Stae can be reached in a few minutes (2 small bridges) or you can get a water taxi to Campo Sant Agostin (very close and only 1 small bridge but more expensive!) Veronica is friendly, welcoming and speaks excellent English, nothing is too much trouble, and being Venetian, she knows her city inside out.

    • Casa Veronica is ideally situated in a quiet calle just a stroll from the Rialto market, Frari Church, S.Rocco, with its feast of Tintorettos, and lively campi where you can relax with an 'ombra' and watch local life go by. The apartment is close to everything you want to see, yet off the main tourist track. It certainly costs less to eat round here than it does on the well-trodden visitors' route between Rialto and S Marco. Yes, you'll see a few mask-and-glass emporia, but there are still plenty of small shops a couple of minutes away, where you can stock up with pane, prosciutto, pecorino and prosecco to create your own feast in Casa Veronica's bright and spacious kitchen. The delightful Venetian owners of the apartment have taken pains to create a welcoming and stylish environment. The beds are comfortable, the towels fluffy, and the kitchen well-equipped, while thoughtful touches, such as the mobile phone, first-aid and sewing kits, and library of books and videos make this a true home-from-home. We've stayed at Casa Veronica four times now. That says it all.
