The Cottage at Valley Glen is a 1730’s bank barn, which was converted into a one bedroom apartment. The property is 4 acres along Valley Creek and is surrounded by several hundred acres of open space in East Bradford Township that include miles of hiking and biking trails. All the modern conveniences are easily accessible from this historic retreat.
The Cottage features a small kitchen; a main room with fireplace,radiant heat floors, queen size bed and a dining area; a screened porch and a small bedroom with two single beds, trundeled. The bathroom is newly renovated as a European style wet room.
The property features a pool, flower gardens and is bordered by an award winning trout fishing steam, Valley Creek. It is surrounded by several hundred acres of open space, with lots of walking and biking trails. The spring and summer offer great bird watching, including hummingbirds. There is a gourmet grocery store 3 miles away. It is 10 minutes drive to Septa and Amtrak trains.
All the Brandywine Valley attractions are a short scenic drive away. It is 30 miles to Philadelphia and to Lancaster. In the fall and winter it is a cozy private place. The fireplace combined with radiant heat floors make it snug and comfortable. In the summer the tranquility of the pool and the screened porch make it perfect for relaxing.
The property is on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Paradise Valley Historic District.
