This is a CLEAN place to stay for a couple of people! We stayed only over the weekend due to house renovations in St. Louis. The condo was newly remodeled and freshly painted. There is also new laminate flooring in the whole condo. My wife and kids we stayed enjoyed the cozyness. Boris even met us at 11 PM when we arrived! This place is in a nice community of homes and is very quiet. The price is right too. The apartment is well stocked and maintained well. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again. The email communication was timely, clear and consise. Thanks!!

We had the condo booked for our family vacation last week. Boris was extremely responsive and very helpful, and prior to our arrival he even purchased a pack and play and booster seat for us to use for our daughter since we were unable to find a location to rent baby equipment in the area. My husband and I had read other reviews and looked at the photos and we were excited to find such a great place to stay for the week. We arrived late in the evening, and upon entering the condo, we immediately noticed the smell of cigarette smoke. This surprised us since it is a non-smoking unit and there are even "no smoking" placards on the wall, plus Boris had told me that they had new laminate flooring installed a week prior to our arrival. We walked through the condo and noticed multiple air fresheners throughout the unit as well as an air purifier in one of the rooms. My husband went out to the store to get a few things and returned with spray air freshener and we sprayed the whole condo but could still smell the smoke through it. Every time the a/c kicked on, the smell of smoke came through with it so we could tell the smell would not go away with air fresheners or open windows. My husband and I are both very sensitive to the smell of smoke, and we did not want our daughter exposed to it, so in the morning we booked a hotel for the rest of the week. I spoke with Boris and he was very apologetic and said that as far as he knew, no one had been smoking in the condo. He agreed to refund us the remainder of our money, and we received this refund within a few days. Boris was great to work with and the condo was very nice. If it had not been for the smoke smell, we would have stayed there for the week.

Owner response: Thank you for the review Pamela! We are very sorry about your trip. We did inspect the condo and it recent families that were staying smoked in the condo. This is something we will watch out in the future. The condo was vacant for two weeks and we made a lot of changes and renovated the condo a little because of this issue. We painted the walls and took the old carpet out. We also cleaned our furnace completely as well. We had tenants that were staying recently and they were satisfied with their stay. Thank you for the positive comments as well. Regards, Boris

First, I want to say Boris was really responsive and available to answer any questions we had. We would email him and he would respond very quickly. He was a pleasure to work with. The entry into the building needed a good cleaning and a coat of paint. Potential renters should also be aware that the sofa pictured in this ad is not the one in the unit. There is large, orange, overstuffed leather furniture in there now and it was worn and torn in spots, and the leather felt sticky. Not a huge deal I guess, but not sure what happened to the sleeker, more modern arrangement pictured above in the VRBO ad. When we first arrived at the condo the smell of air fresheners was somewhat overpowering. We unplugged three of them in the living room/kitchen area and put them on a ledge out in the entryway. After half a day we could smell stale smoke very strongly, either from the HVAC system, carpets, or from smokers in the building. We weren't sure of the exact source. Maybe my sniffer is super sensitive, but it seemed we had a choice between the overpowering scent of air fresheners or smoke. We had to wash everything once we got home because they smelled strongly of air freshener and smoke. The master bedroom was great. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable and the closet and cabinet provided lots of storage. The futon in the 2nd bedroom/office was perfect for our 3 and 4 year old to sleep on together. The queen air mattress went flat the first night for our other guests. Boris very quickly brought a replacement over the next day and that one worked great. The TV and the entertainment system was outstanding, though actual HD on a TV that size (60 inch?) would be a nice addition. We watched NCAA basketball and the kids watched movies on it. Also, there is no wifi in the unit and no neighbors with unsecure networks to tap into. When the other review said there was an issue with hot water they weren't exaggerating. About halfway through the first shower of the day the water would be luke warm at best, and those who followed (4 adults total) would have room temperature showers. I was not able to get the balcony sliding door to lock, though there was also a storm door that did lock. I moved one of the big chairs in front of the door to keep the kids away from it. We had a lot of fun in St. Louis and the unit is very well placed to get fun attractions like the Zoo, the Magic House, and Busch Stadium.

Owner response: We appreciate online reviews of our rental unit, and we thank Jessica for her comments. The previous renters also experienced a cigarette smell in the hallway. As mentioned in the previous review for them, we took action immediately and called the management regarding this issue. They will put up "no smoke" signs in the hallway and clean the carpets. We also added another weatherstrip to the door. We try to make out guests stay as comfortable as possible. We were sad to let go of our black sectional. We replaced it because it was not very comfortable for our guests. The new furniture purchased not long ago is much more comfortable. We did notice few tears in the couch and will repair it. We spray the furniture with leather protector and conditioner after each visit. We will try to use a different brand so it doesnt stick as much as before. We checked the water heater and it looks like one out of two heaters needs to be replaced. Since this is an older boiler and it is hard to find parts for it, we will replace it with a new one by end of this week. The balcony door has been fixed. There was a small piece missing preventing the doors to lock. We do appreciate Jessica's positive comments about the Master bedroom with the Entertainment system and 2nd bedroom amenities. I also wanted to clarify that we have a 47" LCD TV in the Master bedroom and in the 2nd bedroom there is a 32" LCD TV. In closing, we agree with Jessica that our unit is very well placed to get to fun attractions like Zoo, The Magic House and Busch Stadium .

When walking into Apartment building, it has an awful smell. The apartment is upstairs which I didn't see mentioned in the info. The apartment was freezing in the bedroom with the futon. We constantly could smell cigarette smoke. When I got home our clothes smelled of cigarette smoke and a musty smell. I was not impressed with the place. Was only about 10-15 miles from most of the places we visited.

Owner response: Thank you for the review!! We are very sorry about your experience staying in our condo. Our unit is smoke free and there has never been a problem in the past. Since we take this subject seriously, we did call the management immediately about the cigarette smoke in the hallway. We asked them to clean the carpets if possible and air the hallway out and also put up "no smoking" sign in the hallway to prevent this happening again. We also put another weather strip in front of our entance door to the condo. We are confused in regard to the cold room with the futon bed. The vent in the bedroom with the futon bed was half closed, maybe that is why it was a little colder. We did check the heat in the apartment and in the bedroom and everything was working properly. The warm air was coming out of the vent. I wish you had contacted me during the stay. I don't know what could have been done, but we probably could have worked out something to make the stay a bit better. Sincerely, Boris

This was a great place to stay when visiting St. Louis. We have two kids and they loved our home away from home. It was clean and homey. There were enough pans and plates, and ample amenities, like salt and pepper. The washer and dryer were also great to have. There was limited hot water, so make your showers short :), but other that that, it was nice. Great to have a parking spot and only 15 minutes from everything we wanted to see and do in St. Louis. Boris was also very kind and easy to work with.

We stayed in this property from March 5-March 11th 2013. We found the apartment to be clean, comfortable, well equipped and convenient to everything we needed to enjoy our stay in St. Louis. The beds are comfortable with plenty of linens for your stay. The kitchen has everything that one would need to cook a hearty meal. The balcony was nice and had the weather been warmer we might have used the bbq grill that was available on our private balcony. There is adequate parking for more than one car and the area is safe and secure. We are relocating back to St. Louis and fully intend to rent this space again as we head back to St. Louis to "house hunt." I would recommend this property to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It is close to restaurants and malls, parks, etc. Our family loved the fact it had washer and dryer accommodations as well as a full kitchen and was clean. The landlord Boris was wonderful in setting up everything for us, he even brought in some extra blow up mattresses. Thank you again for everything Boris. We definitely will stay there again.

We rented here as an alternative to multiple hotel rooms due to our large family. There was plenty of room for sleeping and Boris even provided air mattresses. Location is great, just minutes from I-55 and I-270. It was just what we were looking for, an affordable place to stay with multiple rooms and a great location. Great value and accommodation for the price!

My husband, 2 teen children & I had a great stay in the condo. The place was exactly how described online - clean & roomy plus the personal amenities and condiments were in abundance! We were thankful for the addition of lamps as previous reviews mentioned it being dark. Our family enjoyed the Arch, Six Flags, City Museum Jefferson Barracks, City Garden, the Anheuser Busch Brewery tour, Grants Farm, Forest Park area (zoo, science museum, planetarium) and the Loop. The neighborhood was quiet yet centrally located to all the sights - super convenient to major roads and interstates. We recommend riding the Downtown Trolley and the Forest Park Trolley ($2 pp/day) - hop on/off for a great value! For incredible soul food, eat at Sweetie Pies (Delmar in the Loop). The 'cement' at Ted Drewes is delish and for tasty not too spicy Mexican go to the Bean House. It was wonderful to come 'home' after a full day of exploring! Thanks for sharing your condo with our family, Boris!

We had an absolute wonderful time. Boris was amazing to work with and quick to answer any question that I had. The place was super easy to find, and 10-15 minutes away from all of the attrations that we wanted to see while we were there. The townhouse was very clean and very comfortable to come "home" to after long days at the zoo, city museum, ball game, the arch. The specialty soaps in the restroom and fresh fruit in the dining room were a nice surprise. I also enjoyed the book with the various local attractions / places to eat. It allowed us to try things that we wouldn't have even know were there. The only thing (if you could call it a downfall) I can think of is the lighting was not as bright as we are used to. But all of the other plusses make you forget all about it. We happened to have both my husband and I and our two children with us (ages 6 & 7). It was great for us and I would recommend this place to anyone with kids, couples, a girls / guys get-a-way spot, or a family gathering. We had so much fun in St. Loius, but 7 days is not long enough to do everything that we wanted to do. We can see us staying here again.

From my initial contact with the owner I felt completely at ease. Boris replied to all my emails promptly and even sent an email the day before we were scheduled to arrive. This gave me peace of mind since I was a little nervous about renting a place this way for the first time. We were a little worried when we arrived because we could hear the TV in the condo across from the hallway, but our fears disappeared when we walked in as you couldn't hear anything from inside. The condo itself was clean, roomy, and had very nice modern furniture. We enjoyed having three different living areas, everyone had their own space when needed, but the living room was great for our entire group to spend time together. The location was great for exploring St. Louis, we went to Busch Stadium, Botanical Garden, Busch Brewery, the zoo, and the Arch, and we were back to the condo within 20 minutes. We felt safe getting in late and enjoyed walks around the neighborhood in the morning. My only regret is over packing, the condo is nicely equipped with anything you may need, plenty of towels, linens, just about every kitchen gadget you can think of, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. The only minor inconvenience we found was that the condo in general is very dark, but that could be easily fixed with a couple lamps. Next time we visit St. Louis we hope to stay in this condo again! Thank you Boris!

We stayed 3 nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. The owner was so very nice & made the whole transaction seamless. The condo is exactly as described, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. You just can't beat the price - the convenience of being able to spread out as opposed to the cramped rooms of a hotel & the added option of being able to cook if you like is wonderful! A washer & dryer is also a great feature so that there's not so much laundry when you get back home. Location is great - St. Louis is really easy to get around & has so much to do! The neighborhood is an older one, but quite nice - close enough to major thoroughfares, but far enough away to be quiet. Thank you, Boris for letting us stay in your home....I would recommend it to anyone!

We had a wonderful time during the weekend that we stayed at this property. It was the semi-annual gathering of a small group of friends. The apartment was wonderful. The decor was quite nice. The beds were very comfortable. It was exceptionally clean. And since we stayed in most of the time, it was very nice to have a fully stocked kitchen with the pans and dishes that we needed. And there were far more shampoos, lotions, soaps, teas, coffees and other ammenities than we ever expected to see. It was just very nice and welcoming and it met all of our needs. We had a wonderful stay and I recommend it to others. We would stay there again!

My Wife and I stayed in this Condo in October 2011. The location is great in a quiet and safe area but a short drive to most places which you would want to visit. The price also represents great value for money. The Condo is clean and comfortable with everything required for your stay, the kitchen and bathroom are now a little tired and could probably do with an upgrade although they are perfectly servicable. As other reviews have mentioned the hot water is very limited and this could do with attention. The TV and entertainment system in both the lounge and the second bedroom are very good quality. There are several grocery stores within a short drive and many places to eat. Overall a good choice for families and excellent value for money and we would stay again if visiting the area

We enjoyed our stay in the condo. It was close to where we wanted to go. We had some trouble finding it. Off of Rainbow Rd, take Rustic Road to Calley, go down the curving hill, and where it splits, go to the right and then around the corner and the building is right there. Mapquest had the wrong directions. We liked the little extra amenities that were there - salad dressing, tea, local newpapers of events. We did have trouble switching to cable or satelite and were stuck with 9 local channels which was a disappointment. Yes, the bathroom shower water was not hot, although the bathroom sink water was. I would have liked some overhead lighting so we could read at night, especially since the TV was on local shows. I was also called and asked if the check was sent two times. this was after the check was cashed. The condo was clean and contemporary. I think the size was Ok for two of us; I'd be crowded if it was 4 adults.

This unit is 10x better than a hotel! I couldn't have asked for anything better. Plenty of space for a girls weekend and the little things, like snacks, wine, shot glasses, etc just made the experience that much more enjoyable! Next time I come with a group I will always choose this place! The only downfall was that it was a little far to be driving back from downtown on drunken nights, but everything else and the flexibility of the owner definitely out weighed the con. Highly recommended by me!!

Nice modest sized condo for families or a couple. Comfortable queen bed, plus a futon that could sleep one adult/large child or two smaller kids. Couch in living room can sleep child or smaller adult. Kitchen had necessary amenities for cooking and dining. Owner was great to deal with and accessible for any minor issues that arose. Only suggestions we had were to leave instructions for operating TV/DVD entertainment systems, etc. which owner plans to do. Another plus is access to an outdoor swimming pool. Located just a couple of miles from I-55 south of St. Louis, the location worked great for trips to downtown as well as west to Six Flags. Would recommend.

Our stay here was great. The condo is about 15 min. from downtown St. Louis, and has one queen bed in one BR and a futon in the other. I was very impressed with how quiet it was the weekend we were there! The condo itself was fine for our purposes and had the extras such as towels, condiments in the fridge and even a washer/dryer right in the unit. My only complaint is that the hot water for the shower only lasted about 5 minutes (and then was tepid after that), but it wasn't a huge problem since it was so warm out anyway. The seller communicated very promptly and was easy to work with!
