Located near Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill (suburbs of Harrisburg), Pennsylvania, the Yellow Breeches Cottage is a cozy vacation home sitting directly on the banks of the Yellow Breeches Creek, a nationally renowned location for fishing and popular for kayaking and canoeing. Its proximity to US Route 15 and Interstate 83 make it only a two hour drive outside of the District of Columbia area and Baltimore, 30 minutes to Hershey (Chocolatetown, USA and home to HersheyPark), 15 minutes to center city Harrisburg (the Capitol of PA) and 40 minutes to Gettysburg with its infamous Battlefield and outlets.
A stay in the Yellow Breeches Cottage offers year round activities. In the winter, take a 15 minute drive to Roundtop Mountain Resort (formerly Ski Roundtop) and spend the day on skis, snowboards or go tubing, day or night. Or you can drive 20-30 minutes to Hershey, PA and visit Chocolate World, Hershey Park or go shopping at the Outlets of Hershey.
Spring, Summer and Fall are wonderful times to stay at Yellow Breeches Cottage. The tranquil, scenic Yellow Breeches Creek is a perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing and tubing. Imagine having a cup of coffee on the deck and walking a few steps to the creek to cast your fishing rod while sitting on the private dock.
If you like to golf, you can almost walk to Liberty Forge, home of an 18 hole golf course as well as a miniature golf course and restaurant.
There is a full kitchen, including dishwasher as well as a separate laundry room with new washer & dryer. Each bedroom has a full size bed with comfy pillow top mattresses. The living room has a comfy Crate & Barrel sofa which converts to a queen size bed and a large 42' flat screen tv. Verizon FIOS Wifi allows you to work on your laptop!
There is a large collection of dvds as well as games for entertainment.

BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE!! The pictures do not do it justice!! Yellow breeches cottage is a GREAT place to go to escape the city. You can take scenic ride by Yellow Breeches Creek and look at all the beautiful homes, it is not a far drive from Harrisburg and Hershey,and is a very nice to place to hide away for a while. Very spacious fenced in yard for our dog Lily and a beautiful sitting area right next to the creek in the backyard. The cottage was very clean and well mantained for being in the middle of winter and was so easy to find. Great place to stay if you have to go to Harrisburg for work and do not want to stay in the city and VERY affordable. I would always recommend this place to anyone who would want to stay in the area and would deffinently be returning myself!!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Our family enjoyed staying in this creekside cottage. The setting was very peaceful. The house was extremely clean and included all necessary amenities. It is close to everything, yet tucked away in a tranquil setting. We can't wait to return!Recommended for: Pet owners.

We were evacuated due to Hurricane Irene and were lucky enough to find the Yellow Breeches Cottage. The Cottage was very comfortable for our family which includes two teenage boys and a medium size dog. The fenced in dog yard and the flat screen TV and WiFi kept all content. The close distance to Hershey Park and Gettysburg made family adventures possible. Enjoyed sitting on the dock watching the creek flow by, unfortunately we didn't bring kayaks but will next time. The cottage has a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. We enjoyed our stay and all of us recommend this cottage.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

About the owner: The Yellow Breeches Cottage is owned by Clark Frese and managed by his sister in law, Lisa Frese. Both Clark and Lisa have dogs, Labs who love the creek, and are glad to be able to accomodate guests who enjoy or need to bring along their dog family members. Clark is an avid kayaker on the creek and likes to hunt for antiques. He is the father of 2 college age children and a Yellow Lab. Clark likes to invest in local real estate. Lisa is married to Clark's younger brother, Kent, yes as in Superman, but no, their mom did not name them on purpose! Lisa is an avid skier and busy mom to 2 girls, ages 10 and 11, and she and Kent like to spend time relaxing on the Yellow Breeches Creek, listening to the sounds of nature. Kent likes to golf and likes the driving range at Liberty Forge golf nearby. They have 2 labs, 1 Chocolate and 1 Yellow who enjoy the creek too!

Lisa is a former REALTOR with C-21 Realty Services in Camp Hill and found the property and together she and Clark have transformed it into a 'home away from home' for out of town visitors to Central PA! Both Clark and Lisa live across the creek in a development on a hill and love the location since it is close to their homes for managing purposes but more importantly can attest to the beauty and serenity of the Yellow Breeches Creek. It's tucked away but not too far and local amenities such as restaurants, golf, movie theatre, skiing, shopping and more add to the appeal.
