Affectionately known as the 'Rhinestone Fisherman' this fantasy Pirate/Ocean themed waterfront vacation rental will make for a vacation you will cherish for a lifetime. Matlacha (MAT-la-shay) is just 30 minutes from Ft. Myers, but this secluded fishing village is a world apart! Fishermen, artists, bikers, vacationers all rub elbows and share the love of its unpretentious atmosphere. Unlike some topnotch fishing destinations, the intriguing thing about Matlacha is its plethora of attractions for non anglers: galleries, shops, restaurants, landmarks, and visual curiosities. Golfers will appreciate golfing at the Royal Tee Golf championship Golf club located less than 5 minutes away. Fisherman can relax on their excursions in the knowledge that family members ashore will not be bored or grouchy because of nothing to do!
The Rhinestone Fisherman is a fisherman's and an artist's dream. Actually partway perched on a long fishing dock, this elegantly furnished vacation rental has an 80 foot fishing dock and a 7,000 lb capacity boat lift just waiting to be used by you. The lighting and murals in this home are incredible. Bose surround sound system, two wide screen televisions, and WIFI will all add to your enjoyment.
As you gaze over the bay, enjoy your time in the gourmet kitchen – exotic granite, stainless steel, appliances, elegant cabinetry, all add to give you that feeling of a home away from home. With the hand laid rhinestone walls, hand painted murals, jeweled furniture the dining room is one of a kind. Watch the dolphins from your king size bed in the master suite. Murals with fiber optic lights, big screen TV, and a computer and reading area add to the 'WOW' effect of this suite.
Soak in the jacuzzi tub filled by a large gold waterfall shower head surrounded by glass mosaic tiles and actual glow in the dark grout! The queen bedroom lavishes you with that 'ole Florida charm. The kids will squeal with delight upon seeing the exquisite murals depicting the history of Matlacha.
Come on down and give us a call for a vacation I guarantee you will never forget!

What a Gem...exceeded expectations!
What a Gem...exceeded expectations!
My husband, daughter and I spent 4 days at Rhinestone Fisherman. The house certainly exceeded all expectations and the pictures didn't do it justice! The bedrooms are so unique and the kitchen is definitely state of the art. The cleanliness is beyond reproach. We enjoyed just hanging around the house and sitting on the dock but there are many fun things to do including fishing, kayaking, eating out, boating, etc. Bert's Bar and The Perfect Cup are great! If you want a truly unique experience, this facility has it all....plus the price is right! The owners were most accommodating and answered all questions and concerns. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend or relative.

Truly a Gem
Truly a Gem
I was hesitant to write a review because we didn't want to share this hidden 'gem' with anyone else but it definitely deserves 5 stars. The pictures don't do the Rhinestone Fisherman justice. Each room is more interesting than the previous. The place was clean when we arrived and Mark even left a 'welcome' cake for us. The few questions we had were answered quickly. The screened in porch was an unexpected room and the deck/dock area on the water was a great place to read and entertain. Watching for dolphins and manatees in the mornings with a cup of coffee can't be beat. The dogs were very comfortable, too. We've already signed on for next year. Can't wait!!!

My wife and I have been guests of other properties by the owner of this fabulous place. As usual we were blown away by the amenities afforded by the Rhinestone Fisherman. Directions were right on and the spot was easy to find. It is a comfortable, clean and superbly furnished house decorated in Matlacha style, old Florida fishing village. The place is the perfect getaway for the couple, the family, or the sportsman with its long dock, davits, and open water access. We especially enjoyed dining at Bert's (three doors down), Red's (steak and seafood), Great Licks (ice cream) and The Perfect Cup, a breakfast cafe where all the locals gather. My wife, enjoyed shopping, of course, at all the local craft and gift shops. We look forward to returning soon. The Smiling Dentist

The Rhinestone Fisherman is literally perched on Florida's finest fishing experience. Walk to the colorful and charming "Old Florida" Village of Matlacha, have your guide pick you up on your dock! I recommend this destination for the serious angler and the casual tourist as well.

Why the Owner Chose Matlacha:
Driving to Ft. Myers one day on business, I decided to take a trip through Matlacha. I was immediately struck by the old town atmosphere, the beauty, and overall feel of this village. If you close your eyes and open them you'd swear you were somewhere in Key West. The natural beauty of the areas only accessible by boat was another attraction for me.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house is practically built on top of your own dock. Sitting on dock of the bay song will readily come to mind each morning seeing the sunrise. Very nice!
