'Green' Solar Modern Glass House 9k Ft. Looking at Mt. Sopris
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Very remote 2,500 sq. foot home with a 40min. georgous drive to Aspen/Snowmass. Because of this the winter December-April season it will NOT be rented.
This is a 'green' home powered by solar heat/hot water; radiant floor heat, all at 9,000 feet overlooking Mt. Sopris. An architecturally modern ranch home with ceiling to floor windows..what a spectacular view! If you like privacy, the rustic outdoors, stars, and would like to see storms like you have never experienced at sea level....this is the place for you. The drive to the house is an experience in itself. Drive from the highway to dirt road and then through a driveway lined with a more than 100 year old Aspen grove. In the evening relax by the roaring fire as you watch the sun set down over Mt. Sopris and see the stars as you have never seen them.
There are two bedrooms; master with king bed and bath; guest room with one queen bed and queen aero mattress and guest bath across the hall.
Things that some people might find a negative: small European type refridgerator; ceiling to floor windows with NO screens on windows; trash has to be coordinated with caretaker (no bins outside b/c of native wildlife); electronic connections vary-ATT good service; but there is a land phone line.
Keywords: Private and secluded on 150 acres overlooking Mt. Sopris. Georgous in the winter and summer. Hiking outside your door, pond at bottom of hill. See the stars like you never have!
Summertime offers an opportunity to hike, bike, rodeo in Carbondale or Snowmass, fishing.

Why the Owner Chose Snowmass:
A modern ranch house with 150 acres surrounded by National Forest. At 9,000 feet you have the best views of the stars, storms, and Mt. Sopris
The Unique Benefits at this House:
In the winter the snow drifts can get 7 feet high and the kids love digging snow tunnels. Sledding in the backyard. Summer lends itself to hiking trails right outside the house door...or more extensive hiking on the Capitol Creek Trailhead.
