Laie house description
Sit on the covered lanai and enjoy the panoramic view of the spectacular coastline of Hukilau Beach, and the towering Koolau mountain range. Less than 100 steps to the waters edge, and a lovely meadow stretching past coconut trees and into the distance. A bicycle path runs through the meadow next to the property and along pastures where cattle graze on one side and spectacular beaches on the other. Walk across the reef to Goat Island just off shore.
Canadian maple cabinetry in the kitchen and bath, marble tub surround, and Ipe hard wood floors in the bedrooms. Plenty of outdoor living and a real tropical countryside feel. Shopping center just a 3 minute drive with grocery store, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Subway and more. Two screen movie theater. Brigham Young University 5 blocks from house.
Queen bed in one room and Bunk set plus queen in the other. Built in 2009, the house still shines like new.

This property was in a great location, conveniently right near the beach. This is a duplex, and we stayed in the side closest to the bike path and side yard listed in the description. The only downside to this rental is that the other half of the duplex had college students living in it. With only a locked interior door separating the two sides, we were able to hear everything said within the unit next door. Although the BYU students have an honor code which only allows for visitors during certain hours, we found that the girls next door had visitors coming and going at all times of the night/day. This made it awkward to park our car, our children were repeatedly being woken up in the middle of the night, and I felt there was little privacy in the room near the unit next door. However, when I informed the owners they immediately called the tenants next door to try and diminish the loud, disruptive behavior. If you don't mind being up late with the students, this place is definitely great! If you have children that need to sleep, I recommend putting them in the furthest room if possible. Other than the students, it was a great place to stay. I would consider visiting again in the future because of the ideal location. Sitting on the front porch at night with the breeze blowing is one of the best parts. Also, you must be able to climb stairs to get to the unit as the duplex is on stilts.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: These guests came to Hawaii in May of 2013. Since receiving the phone call from them we have purchased sound proofing material and put a false wall up between the 2 units to prevent noise transfer between units. We have also assigned parking spaces so there is a designated parking space for this unit. We have also moved the students to the smaller side of the duplex and use the larger unit with the spacious kitchen and living space shown in the photos for vacation rental. We have had many guests come since making these changes and have had no complaints about noise or parking. Our new students are quiet and more respectful since our discussion with them. We are making every effort to help our guests have a relaxing Hawaiian vacation in our condo.
Great location for families at Hukilau Beach

We love this property and it was perfect for our family for our stay on Oahu! It is neat and clean and close to the beach (which is never crowded). Great views of mountains and ocean. Nice big kitchen and plenty of room for our family of 6. Conveniently located to grocery store and other North Shore fun. We also appreciated having laundry and wifi on the property. There are boogie boards and towels too. We will definitely come back again! : )

About the owner: Walking on the beach in the morning is a favorite for exercise, and with the new bike path going to Kahuku, we love to ride bikes, sometimes all the way to Sunset Beach. There is a little bike rental business in Laie if you like to bike as well. If you make it to Sunset Beach area, Teds bakery is a great place to get a crab sandwitch and a piece of their famous chocolate haupia (coconut) pie.
Why the Owner Chose Laie:
We came here 6 years in a row on vacation and decided to leave the hustle bustle of the city and move to paradise. Laie is a very friendly community where life slows down and people enjoy the beauty around them.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The visitors center at the Mormon Temple is a great place to go when you want to enjoy a peaceful place to ponder and wander around the Temple grounds. The view from the Temple steps looking all the way down to the ocean is worth the visit alone.
