Sonoma chateau / country house description
This spacious Sonoma home is situated in prestigious Sobre Vista estates on 5+ acres with a gated driveway, solar heated pool and in-ground spa. The main house has a large kitchen with granite counters with an airy eat in table for the entire family/group to have breakfast while looking out on the garden and lawn. The adjacent dining room seats 16 with plenty of room surrounding for everyone to join in on elegant family meal while the living rooms offers expansive windows, a wood-burning fireplace, and a great place for relaxing.
In the main house, kids will enjoy their room (a twin over double bunk-bed plus a daybed with trundle) as well as the toys, games, bikes, and basketball hoop with plenty of space indoors to find a nook to play in. (We have 3 kids, so we get it!). The master bedroom is huge with a king size bed and an adjacent nook for additional sleepers, complete with its own jacuzzi bathtub and double headed shower. Two additional bedrooms look out onto the garden each with a queen size bed. The fully enclosed pool room functions as a 6th bedroom with two twin day beds and has its own attached bathroom. The
The guest house is jut steps from the house and has a king size bed with a separate living room, its own kitchen and bathroom with a walk in shower. (extra sleeping mats in the closet)
In addition, separate from the house and away from the noise of the pool is a private office complete with a desk, wifi, printer/scanner and plenty of shade, for those of you who just can’t seem to get away completely.
Our charming stables give it that unique Sonoma flair to make sure that you know you are not in the city, but alas the property does not come fully equipped with horses. Our neighbors, however, have horses across the split wood fence, so you can enjoy their beauty while not worrying where you step!
We’ve worked hard to make this house both beautiful and comfortable and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The large gathering spaces and the flexible sleeping arrangements, make it perfect for girls’ getaways, family gatherings, holidays, or to allow everyone to stay and gather for nearby winery weddings.
We’re surrounded by wineries for those wanting to go tasting or just step out the door and go on a short hike to the Sobre Vista lake with vistas over the valley and a plenty of ducks to make it worth your while. Borrow our bikes for a short ride into Glen Ellen (1 mile away) or to Sonoma Plaza (4 miles away) or to the Sonoma Country Club golf course (1 mile away) or drive over to Infineon Raceway (12 miles) if you are so inclined. Or just sit by the pool…

Sonoma family vacation and wedding.
Sonoma family vacation and wedding.
The home was beautiful and the pictures did not do it justice. Every room was spacious and inviting. The grounds were beautiful. Our son was getting married at a nearby garden area, so this was our center. We used it as an area to gather our family from New York, Chicago, Indiana and San Francisco. Everything was clean, stocked and the owners were very helpful. They answered questions for me and had folders available at the home of instructions and local attractions, wineries, dining. We were so pleasantly surprised at how relaxing and private the home was. If we are ever lucky enough to gather our families together again I would certainly love to do it here.

Lovely, Peaceful property for a family celebration
Lovely, Peaceful property for a family celebration
Just stayed at this property for a surprise 60th b-day celebration with a total of 12 family members and had a great time. Great location, plenty of outdoor space for evenings around the fire pit or having morning coffee. The dining room was perfect for our catered b-day celebration for everyone to sit and not have to split up. This was my first time to rent a home in the valley but it has spoiled me to never getting a hotel in the area again.

Great week at your Sonoma houseGuest comment entered by owner
Great week at your Sonoma house
It was a perfect week for the [Redacted] clan to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and also the baptism at St. Patrick's Kenwood of baby Cate [Redacted]. The accommodations were perfect for our family of varied ages. Our 2 year old grandson loved fhe playful and large building blocks. Can't say enough good things about Travelin' Tots in Sonoma - supplied us with cribs, high chairs, activity table and large box of toys suitable for a 10 month old, Carolyn arranged for Leah Johnson to come for in home massages and and she was terrific. contact was in the house info you provided Thank you too for getting the dishwasher repair man at the house so promptly. Don't know if you talked to him or not ( deaf, so a little hard to understand. ). He found a piece of hard plastic that looked like part of a glass - said if had probably been there for months and if finally shifted to affect the drain. We managed to wash some of the sheets and all the beach towels - the housekeepers certainly have alot of laundry to do!! Think we left the house in great shape. Again, beautiful house in a magnificent setting Would also like to mention four of us took an evening cooking class at Ramekins Inn - just great and would do another in a heartbeat. Good wine flowed freely and I am sure the last salad was great but my memories are a little dim on that one. (-: Have already passed on the info re the house to friends who are interested. Again, with thanks

This property is really fantastic. The house is huge and it looks exactly like it is depicted in the photos. The pool/hut tub were great but a particular favourite was the massive outdoor fireplace. The house was stocked with everything that you could possibly need and the owner was a pleasure to deal with in all respects. Highly recommend. Brian - Vancouver.

This home is so beautiful and we enjoyed everything about it! The property is accurately represented in all the photos, it was clean, well maintained and secluded enough to provide nice privacy for a large group. We had a full house for my 30th birthday celebration; with the guest house included everyone slept comfortably. The pool, hot tub, fire pit and porch areas are lovely! We had a party limo bus to drive us to wineries, gourmet food shops and dinner, the home is 5-10 minutes from the Sonoma square. I would recommend this property/owner to anyone. The owner was easy to get in touch with, helpful, and I had no communication issues. We would certainly stay here again our next trip to Sonoma. This home is gorgeous! Stay there!

An Amazing Stay
An Amazing Stay
While I’m not one to normally write reviews – when the experience is as grand as the one I just had, I wanted to share it in the hope that others would be as fortunate to find this property as I was. For starters, the property is spacious and ideal for hosting a large group. There were 4 couples in my party and each had a very comfortable bedroom to call their own (and there were even additional beds that went unused). That said, in a house & place like this, sleeping is the last thing you want to do! The owners have left no stone unturned in creating a special getaway. Inside, the large dining room table was perfect for hosting a dinner party and easily sat 14 people in total. Of course, to prepare a meal for that many, you need the right tools – and the kitchen is outfitted with everything one would need from all sizes of pots and pans right down to a basting brush for that extra touch. Having come to Sonoma from the East Coast, it was reassuring that every little detail was covered – as I could only bring but so much with me. Additionally, the living room not only had a wood-burning fireplace to relax by – it also had two speakers built into the wall which hooked up to an iPod dock (in the bedroom). Lounging by a warm fireplace, with Beyonce flowing through the speakers, stuffed from a great meal, with a bottle from nearby Jacuzzi winery…need I say more??? Outside, it was unseasonably cool during my stay, so we didn’t get to use the pool, but lounging by the fire pit made for great star gazing and relaxing. There’s also a grill and plenty of outdoor seating. Lounging here in a spring/summer evening would be perfect, as the property is so wide, that you can sit and enjoy the serenity around you. Lastly, if you have kids in your party, you need look no further – as this place will be paradise for them. My fiancés family drove up from SF to hang out one day and brought two kids with them – they may have had the best time of anyone. Games, LEGOs, toys, motorized vehicles, NERF weapons, a ping-pong table – there’s even a small batting cage. There truly is something for everyone – and everything one can ask for. The only problem? I eventually had to head home to NY! Next time I’m in Sonoma though, I most certainly will try to stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. The owners were very available for any questions that arose for us and were very professional about the whole process. The house is very well appointed and really felt like visiting a friend's home rather than a rental. The dining room is incredibly spacious and made for a great birthday feast for my husband's friends and family. The firepit was a huge hit for evening smores. The land surrounding the property was great for daytime frisbee games. It's a great home for kids too with the pool, spacious yard, firepit and swingset. The home is close to great wineries and yet feels very secluded on its spacious property. We really hope to be able to return!

this house is so spacious and comfortable. we used it for a company retreat for 12 people and the "meeting space" (aka: dining room) could not have been better - it was like we had rented professional conference facilities! for the "fun" part of the retreat, the house also delivered. it is very well appointed and feels like you are visiting a friends home, not in a rental (for example, there are real wine glasses for your use). we had 12 adults there and we did not feel on top of each other. the house is very well laid out. when we were there, it was raining pretty hard but there were breaks in the weather that allowed us to use the fire pit - so fun! i highly recommend this home. it's less than an hour from the golden gate bridge and it's easy to get to town from the house. the one thing is that if road noise bothers you, note that the house does have this - but nothing can spoil the natural beauty of the grounds and it's nice to not be in the middle of nowhere, especially if you want to explore Sonoma. Lastly, my kids (1 1/2 and 3) came up for a night and the house was very "baby proofed" by natural design (very few stairs or fragile objects within reach). There were also lots of toys they could use...so nice. If folks in your party have difficulty with stairs, this is a great house. FOr parties wanting privacy, there are several sleeping areas that offer this. Paul was very professional and this was an easy transaction to plan, which I appreciated. We'd return and recommend to others.

What I can, the estate proved to completely exceed our expectations. The property's single story, mid-century design and the privacy afforded by the massive lot provided for a very intimate and comfortable weekend. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and the pool and spa were fantastic. We had a pregnant couple who used the guest cottage to get away from any noise at night and they loved the additional privacy. I would highly recommend this property for any medium to large sized family. The owners were extremely attentive and responsive to our needs. We used the outdoor fire pit every night to sit under the stars and carry on the conversations into the night. This is a very special property and we'll be back!

Exceeded our expectations!
Exceeded our expectations!
From first contact through the close of our stay the owner was quickly responsive, friendly, professional, and so very helpful to multiple contacts in our group....we are so very grateful for a wonderful experience and stay! The house is beautiful inside and out, spacious. comfortable, very clean, well located, well equipped, great amenities...we simply loved all of it. We were a group of 10 adults traveling to wine country from all over the country and renting this house was the perfect answer for our stay - it is close to so many lovely wineries and downtown Sonoma and it comfortably and attractively provided common areas for all of us to cook, eat, and catch up when "home" inside and out, and plenty of room for us once we finally had to get some sleep. We were not traveling with children, but this would also have been perfect if so, kids would love it too! While we are sad that our stay is over, we really hope to get back to Sonoma again in the future. If and when we do, this house will be where we look to stay for sure and highly recommend it to other travelers in the meantime. Thanks again to the owner for such great help in preparing and for providing such a special piece of our awesome memories!!!
