The bathroom has a tub with shower, granite countertop, and tile floor. A large closet each of the bedrooms gives ample space to store your suitcases
Treasure Island: Treasure Island at San Luis Pass is a quiet, family oriented hamlet with 20 miles of beach that reaches all the way to Surfside. The community is located at the base of San Luis Pass Bridge. Due to damage caused by Hurricane Ike, the swimming area for the community can only be accessed by a crossover less than a block away from the house (at the end of Jolly Roger - see th crossover bridge in above pictures). Treasure Island is perfect for those who want to get a way from the crowds, spend their days at the beach, and their evenings reconnecting with family and friends while sitting on the deck. Across the road is San Luis Pass County Park. It offers a public boat launch into Christmas Bay, the perfect place for kayaking and sailing. The park also includes fishing areas and fish cleaning stations. A pavillion for family or group gatherings is available for rent. Treasure Island offers a convenience store (Bright Light) that sells everything from bait to lunchmeat to fuel filters!
Going to Galveston: Galveston Island is just across the toll bridge ($2 each direction). Galveston's Historic District and the Strand are about 30 miles (45 min) away. While in the historic district, tour Galveston's historic mansions, visit the Elissa (tall sailing ship) and the Texas Seaport Museum, or go shopping and dining in the many restaurants and bars the area offers. Moody Gardens, Schliterbaun Waterpark, and the Lone Star Flight Museum are about 25 miles (35 min) from the house. The start of Seawall Blvd is only about 25 minutes away with mini-golf, restaurants, and Kroger. For more information on what to do in Galveston go to www.galveston.com
Surfside and Brazoria County Attractions: Just up Bluewater Highway from Treasure Island is Surfside. Surfside offers a liquor store, grocery, and several bars and restaurants. Be sure to take a walk on the Jetty to get a unique look at the island from the water. It's always fun to stand next to the 'big boats' as they go into and out of the harbor. From Surfside, Lake Jackson offers Sea Center Texas (a free aquarium & nature center), Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, the Brazos Mall, Walmart and many grocery stores. Nearby golf courses are located in Freeport and Lake Jackson (each is approx 40 min away). For more information on what to do in Brazoria County go to www.visitbrazosport.com

My Husband and I wanted so badly to marry on San Luis Beach. That is where we vacation all the time and it is where he proposed. I looked online for nice beach front properties for us to stay, as well as my family that flew in from Ohio. Pelicans Perch looked nice and cozy online, wasn't overly expensive, accommodating for everybody, and just a few steps to the beach. When we arrived we were very impressed. These pictures do not do it justice. It's a very beautiful home and property. Jamie, the owner, is wonderfully sweet. Made sure we were taken care of properly and would enjoy our stay. The wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect. Right there on the beach with the neighbors watching and cheering along with applause after the ceremony. We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. Was a perfect place to have or wedding and spend time together as a new family. It did get a bit chilly, but not the fault of the property. Gorgeous views of the Gulf. The high winds brought beautiful huge waves crashing onto the rocks. Was definitely a wonderful wedding weekend that we will cherish forever. Thank you Jamie.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful time at San Luis pass. The house was wonderful and perfect for what we needed. We lucked out and the beach only had seaweed the last day there. Having 2 children under the age of 4 the shallow water was perfect and they left completely exhausted from their time at the beach. The walk to the beach was very short and the views from the house were lovely. The sunrise was beautiful every morning over the ocean. I highly recommend this as a place to stay (especially with small children).Recommended for: Families with young children.

We were back for a second year at Pelican's Perch and enjoyed the experience once again. Through no fault of the owners, the beach was totally covered in sea weed when we arrived. The cleaning crew came along that morning and made it much better. By the 3rd day the water was clearer. The house was its usual great escape. Everything you need, well maintained and very responsive home owners who go out of their way to ensure your stay is a good one. In fairness to those reading this review and deciding whether or not to come, I have to tell you the house is worth the trip, the money and the effort, but the beach may disappoint you at times. It all depends on mother nature. In the end, we had a very enjoyable time, and when the beach was nasty, we used the owners games, puzzles and movie collection to have a nice time inside. Having a washer/dryer is great also because we went home with clean clothes in our suitcases. I give the house and owners 5 stars and the beach 3 stars which averages out to a 4 star rating. In the end it boils down to whether we enjoyed our trip or not, and we most definitely did.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Thank you to Kite & Keys for a wonderful and relaxing week at San Luis Pass. The home was clean and really well stocked; everything was easy to find and the layout of the home was quite efficient. The second day of our stay we noticed that the air conditioner didn't seem to be keeping up; I contacted Jamie by telephone and she immediately sent a repairman out to the house. The air conditioner was fixed within two hours of making the call. We were amazed at the fast response time and appreciative of the personal service that Jamie provided. She even called to make sure that the repairman was "treating us nicely"; definitely above and beyond our expectations! The location of the home is really ideal; it's not too close to the bustle of Galveston, but close enough to easily drive into town and enjoy the many attractions. We also spent some time in nearby Surfside Beach, Freeport, and Lake Jackson, which are also conveniently located. The beach near the house is clean and was never crowded. We really enjoyed walking the beach and collecting seashells. We can't wait to come back again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We enjoyed our stay and swimming. The house was very nice and clean with plenty of room for my 4 nephews, mother-in-law, father-in-law, my husband and I. The nephews, my husband, and I loved walking the beach seashell hunting, there was a lot of seashells down the shore line. We also enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning watching the birds and listening to the ocean waves. We can't wait until we take another vaction there again.Did you find this review helpful? This almost-front row beach house is a joy to stay in. Beautifully clean, well stocked with many of the necessities (salt/pepper, vegetable oil, aluminum foil, etc), and it is so well planned in terms of space. Family time in the livingroom/diningroom could not be more pleasant. Lots of room for relaxing, playing board games, watching TV or enjoying the large deck. Wonderful views of the Gulf and easy (though not direct) access to the beach. Lots of quiet, lots of space between homes...we loved it. Bedrooms have lots of comfortable bed space, ample closet room. Owner provided excellent and timely service, couldn't be a more pleasant person to work with. Easy to get to Galveston for sight-seeing or Lake Jackson for a mall if needed. There is an excellent Kroger on Seawall and we found snow crab legs that were the best we've had. If you have kids with you, try Mario's down at end of Seawall for the best kid-friendly service we've ever had.And watch for the amusement park that's being built over the water on Seawall. It's not done yet but keep your eye out for it. We will be back next year...hopefully for a full week.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: I bought the house in the spring of 2011. It was a dream come true! As a child, my family took our annual vacation to the beach for a whole week. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of going to the beach with my family. It has been wonderful to hear from some of my guests that their family has made some of those same lasting memories while staying at my house!
Why the Owner Chose San Luis Pass:
Treasure Island is a quiet subdivision. My house is at the end of the swimming beach that stretches all the way to Surfside. Although the house is not 'technically' beachfront, I have had many people tell me that I should advertise it that way because the views are so spectacular!
