Spokane house description
This is a cozy funky house built in the 1940's and has so much character to offer, it is approximately 900 square feet on the top floor, all of the ceilings and hallways are rounded which adds to the character of this home, the living area has a earth stove insert which keeps it nice and warm in the colder months, there is a separate dining area with the coved ceilings and a fan over the dining table, the kitchen has been remodeled some with new tiles and appliances it is a cheery bright yellow, and it totally stocked for all your cooking needs, just bring your food, the largest bedroom off the hallway has a king size brass bed imported from England with porcelain details and a very comfortable mattress and a small closet area, the second bedroom has a queen size bed and a small closet too. The couch in the living area is big enough for an adult to sleep on but it is not a pull out. Off the hallway is a small full bathroom that has been totally remodeled. The basement is unfinished but has a laundry area and a small 1/2 bathroom downstairs. The backyard has a covered patio with lights, a gas barbeque and sitting area, it is completely fenced. The yard is landscaped with a sprinkler system. There is a large carport for covered secured parking for 2 average sized cars and a very long driveway if you are pulling a boat that would fit, there is also security lighting. The house is close to many amenities as listed on the site. There is a swimming pool walking distance that is open to the public in the warmer months. The Spokane Transit bus stop is just a few houses down from the house. There is a Catholic church in the neighborhood that is walking distance and there are numerous other churches close by. The YMCA is about 4 miles away. If you are in need of babysitting I can make some referrals. This house is pretty centrally located to most of Spokane. By no means, is this a large house but it is cozy and comfortable and I think you would enjoy a visit to the home. This is an ideal home for a small group that would like a few more amenities then you can receive in a hotel room.
Keywords: This house was built in the 1940's, they did not spare any expense, it was a high quality build. Updated in the 70's and main floor just received an update. Quaint, Cozy, Comfortable, and Clean.

My wife and I stayed in the house for 3 months this summer. The house was great for us! It was a perfect location for all we wanted to do in Spokane. Bernadette and Chuck were super to work with. There was plenty of room when the grandkids came to visit. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year if all works out.

Excellent Spokane Experience!
Excellent Spokane Experience!
My wife and two friends rented the house over Memorial Day as we were participating in the "Round and Round" 24hr mountain bike race that weekend. We found the house perfect for our needs. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, we had cable TV to veg out after the race and the wifi was plenty fast. A bonus for us was the large basement so the bikes didn't have to stay outside in the cold for the night and the washer/dryer. We were able to wash all our cycling clothes and avoid stinking up the car for the ride home. I found the location to be perfect. Very safe and quiet neighborhood and close to everything. The place was also very clean and the backyard was awesome for laying in the sun. It has a very nice grill in the backyard that we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use, but maybe next time!

Funky House in Spokane
Funky House in Spokane
Wow! This was a great place to stay. They owners have furnished this house with everything you could possibly think of that you may want or need. The beds were to die for, more comfortable than most high end hotels. The backyard was perfect for our little dog and very private. Plenty of off street parking. We spent four days there when our daughter graduated from Gonzaga. It is close to everything and we would recommend the Old European for a great breakfast and Anthony's on the riverfront for a delicious brunch. Wish we had more time to spend there as it was truly a home away from home. The owners Chuck and Dette were the sweetest and most accomodating hosts. We hope it is available next time we visit Spokane.

Loved the place!
Loved the place!
My daughter and I stayed here for over a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We both needed a lot of rest and relaxation and this adorable, quaint, and cozy home provided just that. The location was ideal - close to the mall, close to the grocery store, library, park, etc.. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again if we are in the area!!

Great family gathering place
Great family gathering place
We were delighted with the retro charm of your small home. It served well as the gathering place for 10 of us scattered about to attend my son's Whitworth graduation. Your kitchen was stocked to the gills, enabling us to serve delightful meals (including the use of your quality gas grill outside). Thanks for your hospitality!

About the owner: Our names are John and Bernadette Kaney, we have lived in Spokane area since 1997, we are originally from California. I am a nurse my husband is retired. We have been renting our home with VRBO for the last two and we have enjoyed the experience. We loved to garden and travel.
Why the Owner Chose Spokane:
This was a house that my son rented from us for the last 6 years while attending college. He has purchased his own home and we thought this would be a better avenue for us than just renting it month to month.
