About the owner: Having relocated from Silicon Valley, we found this parcel of land and built our dream home. We are engineers - we use our own well water and use solar panels to supplement heating requirements.
This casita rental was our home for three years and was built to our specifications and high standards. We placed museum quality fine art in the home for our enjoyment and now yours. It is fully insured and well lit.
We live near by and are your landlords ready to assist you 24/7. We love the weather, views, clean air, clear skies, access to Opera, Symphony, Museums and Galleries.
We also use the Santa Fe airport (15 minutes away) to travel world-wide. We do not golf or fly-fish but know that it is nearby and easily available.
We ski in the winter, bike and hike in the summer, go to Micronesia to scuba dive and visit New Mexico art galleries, performing art centers, museums and festivals year round.
We love to cook and entertain and this is easily done with Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Farmers Market and the many other food resources in Santa Fe.
Our Native American neighbors provide many festivals and customs for us to enjoy (also year round).
Why the Owner Chose Casas de San Juan: We have vacationed in New Mexico since the 70s and when retirement was in our future, we selected Santa Fe for its clean air, blue skies, lighting, cultural events, education options and low population density.
You will not be disappointed in finding your group of friends, activities to do and places to go. Whether scientific, athletic, cultural or spiritual, there is a group for you.
The Unique Benefits at this House: We are less than 15 minutes from the Lensic Performing Arts center, 15 miles from the Santa Fe Ski Basin, 20 minutes to Canyon Road Art Galleries and less than 5 minutes from the Santa Fe Opera House.
You can join Glass Alliance - New Mexico for studio visits, art exhibits, lectures and so much more dealing with contemporary studio glass art.
Your main TV is located on the wall behind the tapestry that we purchased in France during a biking adventure. This means that your flat screen is only seen when you want it.
Your washer and dryer are under the granite counters in the kitchen. Out of sight, out of mind. If you really do not like doing the laundry, we can have the housekeeper do it when she arrives weekly to clean your home.
The appliances are GE, the stove is Dacor, the refrigerator is Amana, the dishwasher is Bosch.
The large round mirror is a custom piece by John Lewis, an artist from Oakland, CA. The separate slate tiled shower is to the left of the soaking tub. The enclosed WC is to the right of the soaking tub. Heated floors in the Ensuite Master Bathroom.
The stereo systems are in the low closets in the Living room to the right of the wood burning fireplace. We have port hole windows in the doors to the stereo and WiFi plus electronic systems for the casita.
All AC and Heating is controlled by a panel in the garage. There are five zones to set with variable hours of operation. This is an HVAC lovers dream house. All thermostats are inside the walls under the plaster. Nothing ugly to conflict with the art pieces.
The seating in the living room is very comfortable and two seats swivel for coffee table conversation, fire watching or television viewing.
Some of the art in the house is provided by International maestros including David Bennett, Richard Whiteley, Marti Sommer, Raquel Stolarski, David Hering, Pamina Traylor and Jonathan Tepperman.
