Thank you Joe for allowing us to stay in your home over the Christmas Holiday. We really enjoyed the layed back town. Your home was very nice, and the main deck off of living room was so pleasant. We ate many meals on the porch and enjoyed watching the Osprey and their young. My son in love brought down his boat and other than getting stuck (as the water in the bay is shallow) a few times he and my husband and grandson enjoyed fishing. All of us took a ride to Berts on the water for lunch on Sat. and enjoyed a yummy meal and a guy who played his steel drum. We put our grandchildren on the top floor to sleep as us oldsters did not want to make the climb up the stairs. Will tell our friends and we hope to be back again. So much to do and so little time. Jean

I have stayed here twice and the place is very nice and within easy walking distance to resteraunts and the down town area. The fishing is awsome. Redfish, snook, and trout were my target fish and I limited out on redfish and trout each day and caught and released several nice snook. I spend most of my vacations on the west coast and I will be returning to this rental.

This rental is perfect for a couple or family who enjoy a quiet place out of the beach areas. Matlache is a "quaint" village with neat shopping and good places to eat. It is within easy driving to Ft Meyers Beach and interesting places such as Pine Island and Sanibel Island. The unit is clean, well furnished, attractively decorated, and well equiped. The owners are well orgagnized and provide easy to follow instructions for the operation of the unit. They also provide reference material for things to do on your stay. Special "perks" incude being able to fish off a dock off the back door, 2 Kayaks avaiable for use and a quiet canal to use them in for kids, bikes available to use. We really enjoyed our flats fishing experience. We had a charter captian who took 6 of us (including grandkids ages 6-11) at a time. The poor guy was either tieing on a hook, baiting a hook, or taking a fish off all the time. We didn't set any records but had a ball. JoeB will have names for at least two good family friendly captians to take you fishing. Great place to stay!

Matlacha is true Florida

We had a wonderful time, and the weather was great! Went to the piers at the park nearby and in Bokeelia also fished and caught crab right at the house. First time fishing salt water, the Sea Trout was delicious and my wife made some great Blue Crab cakes! Joe’s house is very nice and is just as described on Verbo, the sunset view from the balcony was awesome! The house is located a short walk from unique shops and restaurants. We explored Pine Island and took the water taxi to Cabbage Key for lunch and the beach on Cayo Costa. We also enjoyed shopping at the flea market and Shell Factory in Fort Myers. Joe was a great host and we loved Matlacha it’s very unique!

We surely hated having to leave this house to return to "the real world". It is wonderful! The pictures and description of the house are very accurate; if anything, they understate how nice the house is. Just the right location - far enough from the main road and the bridge to miss the traffic and bridge construction noises, but close that it's an easy stroll to Bert's or Sandy Hook and all the restaurants and galleries in between! The house is remarkably well-appointed. Everything we needed was right here. We enjoyed sight-seeing and had a great time exploring the area on the kayaks. Joe made it clear he was only a phone call or email away, and called to make sure we had found everything okay. We watched the sun set and the moon rise from the top deck - marvelous view! We can't wait to come back!

This place exceeded our expectations. We are regular renters in Matlacha, staying at different places 5 times a year. Joe has ruined that tradition as we hope to regulars at his place from now on.The house is decorated so that you feel as if you are staying with family. The deck and dock are wonderful, from the sunsets to the cleaning table. The fishing and kayaking were great (nice kayaks supplied), The kitchen is well equipped, maybe better than mine at home. The house is very clean. Surprisingly quiet for such a convenient location - an easy walk to the sights of Matlacha , and you can quickly be on the fishing grounds. We highly recommend this house. Thanks for everything Joe and we will see you again soon Gary & Dawn
