Good House but some Things to Note
Good House but some Things to Note

Having been in the vacation rental industry (beach) for the last 10 years I feel like I have a pretty good background to leave an objective review. My wife and I along with 6 other couples stayed in this home for 4 days over the MLK weekend. The pictures are good but there are quite a few things I feel could be done to make the experience better and most of them we felt were minor. Overall the house was very solid, clean, maintained well but here is a Pros / Cons list that might help. Cons: - While there are plenty of rooms and beds for everyone, the mattresses are old/hard and not exactly the most comfortable. (Not a huge issue for most people but it should be noted). - The upstairs King bedroom is ice cold. There is a thermostat but no vents and didn't seem like the floor heating worked at all - For a house that sleeps 17-19 there is only 1 TV in the house and only 1 area with seating for only 6 adults (2 couches). This is an issue for people looking to relax at the end of the day on the slopes. - Also for 17-19 people the pots and pans were inadequate. The largest pan was a 10inch omelette pan. - Nice large Viking range but mini microwave from the early 90s, that sounds like it may explode. - should also be noted that the sleeper sofa is in the master suite downstairs and offers very little privacy. - seating at the dining table was for 8 - no foosball for the foosball table. - area around the kitchen island is small and for a heavy traffic area, gets crowded around meal times but it does have an amazing view - very minimal games (no DVDs) provided) Pros - Unlike most houses the bunk beds were quite large. - Hot tub in the winter is heavenly - Location is excellent and private - heated floors are great - there is a fireplace but you'll need to get your own wood. - Pet Friendly Its not a requirement but it would be nice if there was more info provided in the home about, local restaurants (ie pizza delivery), skiing / sledding opportunities (bring your own sled), where to get firewood, and other miscellaneous info that would be useful to people not familiar with the area. And be advised there is very very limited cell signal (ATT) and no land line which is a con for some but most of us had no problem with being disconnected and the Wifi was more that adequate.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Thanks for the positive comments. It is a great house. Over the past year, we have used your "con" items as a "to do" list and have improved the house by addressing each of them. When you visit again, you will be pleased by the progress. Future guests should feel free to inquire if they have any questions on these or any other points.
