This is a delightful retreat, owned by an artist, which sits on posts in a quiet cove of the Sheepscot River. You can watch beautiful sunsets while sitting on the deck with a drink and a good book. We own three kayaks and a canoe which are available for cottage renters to use to paddle around Hodgdon Island or to explore the other islands nearby.
One of the best lobster rolls in the region is served at the lobster shack on our little island, where you can also buy milk and beer and pick up a New York Times. Two of the many hiking trails operated by the Boothbay Region Land Trust can be reached by foot from our front door.
When you are tired of boiling your own lobster at home, there is a short drive to the many restaurants and shops of Boothbay Harbor.
