  Got in at 11pm., place had not been cleaned. Could not sleep in cabin unitl cleaners came at 330 am. Bad fish smell in fridge. No dishes cleaned, biggest mess I've ever seen. Told us we would have a free nigtht, and refund one night, but never got full refund. Worst place I've ever stayed. Cealing at bottom of stairs leaked the whole time, and fleas, bugs all over. Very nasty.

  Owner response: The cleaning crew responsible for this property not being ready when the guest arrived, is no longer cleaning this cabin. The guest was compensated with a free night and a discounted cleaning fee. There was never a full refund promised. The property, since this guests visit 6 months ago, has been getting many upgrades and repairs. The roof has been replace and exterior trim paint done. The kitchen is in the process of getting a new floor. It is an older chalet that is pet friendly and priced right for a three bedroom so close to Gatlingburg. There are more repairs in progress that we hope to complete in the near future.

  Well my family stayed at this cabin last year and we loved it! It was clean and perfect for us. It did have a few things that needed updated and repaired but nothing major. We stayed at this cabin during spring break this year and they had repaired nothing. Everything that was old and damaged last year, was still old and damaged. There was a water leak from the upstairs shower that leaked into the kitchen. When we got there, it was not clean at all. Dead bugs covered the den floor. We brought our two 8 year old bassets with us and we had to put the table that was on the deck against the deck railing because the lattice had been torn up and I did not want to risk my dogs getting loose. The front door had a ton of scratches on it and well everything was simply unkept. We enjoyed our stay anyway. Heres the worse part. I checked to see if I had got the refund back and to my surprise I saw where I was charged $450 for damages! They claim that we damaged the lattice, scratched the door, damaged the pool table(which we did not use), and damaged a pillow. They found a pillow in the trash and they assumed that it was theirs. That pillow was ours. We brought our own pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels with us! I dropped my pillow outside and threw it away! I emailed them telling them that I was not paying a dime because the damages were already there when we got there! I also informed them that I will get a lawyer if need be, and I will! I have yet to receive a response from them. We enjoyed our stay, regardless of the filth. We will NEVER stay at this cabin again because of the owners. I refuse to pay for them to update their cabin.

  Owner response: It is all about the money. When the cleaning crew arrived at this location, being the same crew that always cleans this home, they were familiar with the existing condition. They immediately called me and began sending me photos of damage, dog feces all over the deck and extensive damage throughout. Yes this is an older home and it is per friendly. It is priced accordingly. That is no excuse to treat other peoples property in such a manner. The poor review came as a result of trying to hold them accountable for the damage left by the guests two dogs who had obviously been left locked up in the house and on the deck unattended for some time.

  We were sorely disappointed with the quality of this place. The entire property is in MAJOR disrepair, inside and out. I find it VERY hard to believe that anyone owns / keeps this place as a personal vacation property. I have stayed in backwoods fishing camps that were in far better condition than this. -- We were greeted by the odor of urine immediately upon entering. It would seem as if the family / TV room rug, couch, and throw pillows have been thoroughly soaked in urine. This is absolutely unacceptable. -- The upstairs shower leaks into the kitchen via an overhead vent. Also unacceptable. -- There is evidence of a major water leak from the upstairs toilet and poor repair job on the ceiling of the kitchen. -- The whole house is dirty – cobwebs everywhere, ceilings and walls were filthy and unkept. -- Upstairs closets have miscellaneous lumber and rubbish in them – why? -- The kitchen was entirely unstocked – we had to go out and buy paper towels and coffee filters. These are expected to be present in a rental like this. -- The curtain rods in the family / TV room are destroyed. I cannot imagine what happened to these. -- The beds are really terrible. Not fit for a vacation rental. Every furnishing in the place appears to have come from a second-hand store. This is NOT a good place for kids, and there are multiple safety issues: -- The very steep 50-foot embankment immediately outside of the entry door is unprotected and has unstable footing. -- There are multiple dead-rotting trees on the exterior of the home, very proximal to the house. -- The property has debris present in multiple locations. -- Pesticides and cleaners are stored, unlocked, under the kitchen sink – why? Overall, the whole place is just very poorly constructed and maintained. Anything short of a MAJOR renovation won’t help this place. I was charged a very healthy amount for this place, including taxes, and a cleaning fee (?!?!?!), and I feel taken – we could have done soooo much better. I would NOT stay here again, and I would NOT recommend staying here to anyone else.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sidney's Mountain Retreat! It was close to the parkway, while being completely quiet and private! The deck (which we were able to close the gates on with a large cable tie) was perfect for our dogs! We could allow them some unleashed outside time without worrying about their safety! The inside of the cabin was perfectly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked! We didn't do any cooking, but if we had, we would have found everything we needed. We loved the stereo in the living room and the pool table as well. Thank you iTrip for a wonderful vacation! We plan on coming back during Spring Break!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
