And for our wedding guests, the horse drawn carriage and trolley rides are popular means of transportation to the church or reception location
Wilmington has so much to offer and the O'Connor House is so convenient! So, spend a vacation in town. Save a little money and enjoy the city. And if you like to get away to the beach, it is only a short 15 minute ride to the beautiful beaches of Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach or Kure Beach. This place was fabulous! Beautifully decorated and located 2 blocks from the River Walk, among other historic homes. The house is on a major street, so, if you have a problem with traffic noise, you may opt to select a different bedroom than the master, which overlooks the street. Otherwise, you can't beat its warmth and character---as well as its location: Walking distance to wonderful restaurants, river activites, shopping, historic tour activities and a short drive to several area beaches. We would definitely stay at this house again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful Azalea Festival weekend in downtown Wilmington. The house was in the perfect location as we could walk to all the festivities and great restaurants. We were even able to watch the fireworks from the front yard. The house was well equipped with everything imaginable to make our stay comfortable (including lots of toys for the grand-kids). The home is more attractive than even the pictures reveal and the updated kitchen made family meals a joy to prepare. The manager was readily available to answer all questions and the owner responded immediately when we needed him. We had a delightful stay in the O'Connor House. Thanks to everyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had the pleasure to spend the Christmas Hollidays in this lovely house. It was magic: the house was in and out decorated according to the season, just gorgeous!!! Super location, clean, complete, the house itself was even better than the photos we saw. Angie, the manager, was always very kind and helpful. Everytime we had questions she answered them very quickly, in a professional manner. We would definitelly recommend the O'Connor House to anyone, anytime. Just don't mess with the house, future guests, we want to stay there again :-)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Our second guest from Switzerland!!! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home while in Wilmington and would love to see you again. We love our manager, Angie, and so glad she helped you during your stay! My wife thanks you for your kind comments about her decorating; she takes great pleasure in adding her personal little touches to the house. Jim

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The O'Connor House! The furnishings and space gave all 7 of us plenty of space to stretch out. The price was very reasonable and we were only 1/2 mile from the wedding site. I highly recommend staying there, you will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Four generations stayed at the house for my son's wedding. My mom (who is soon to be 80) loved her secret hide away - the small balcony off of her bed room. My 16 month grandson found plenty of toys allready provided. The house was amazing. We felt at home the moment we set foot into the house. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an alternitive place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from my son's wedding and our stay at O'conner House. Six of us shared the house with ease. We entertained - the kitchen is fabulous - and hung out together. Yet there was plenty of room for alone time. There's more space than the pictures indicate with porches and outside living areas, ample common space and nice-sized bedrooms. The owners have lovingly restored this house. While it has a historic feel to it with high ceilings, double moldings, original doors and floors, the furnishings are family-friendly. Everyplace is a good place for a nap. Almost every convenience you could ask for it right there. You can walk to the river and restaurants and you're a short drive away from markets and big-box stores. We had our rehearsal brunch at The George. The food and the staff there were wonderful. We would highly recommend staying here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Guests, We try and keep the O'Connor House well suited for so many wedding guests, from our outside gardens to a well equipped kitchen. We are so glad you had a wonderful time!!

We were in Wilmington for my daughter's wedding and she found this house for us. I can't say enough about the decor and the restoring of the house. Being a history buff, I found this house to be inviting about it's history. Within the walls of the house you could feel the presence of the past owners. Even though we were there for only five days, I enjoyed my walks to the water front, around the neighborhood and the cobble stone streets. Everyone was so friendly and I did not expect anything different being from the south myself. I love the coastal area and for all it offers and hopefully I will retire there very soon. I loved sitting on the front porch, my cup of coffee in my hand rocking away and listening to the birds in the morning. I will be back. GREAT HOUSE!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our neice was married over the past weekend in Wilmington and our whole family came out for it. My husband and I, our adult children and my brother and his wife stayed at the gorgeous and cozy O'Connor House for four fabulous days. It was the perfect place to enjoy all of what Wilmington had to offer. The newly remodeled and upgraded home had all the amenities for a relaxing weekend. There is so much rich history we only wished we had four more days to really take it all in. We will be back in the near future! Thank you again for all your hospitality and putting out the warm welcome mat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

O'Connor House is gorgeous -- large, tastefully decorated, updated. Our family stayed for a wedding and the six of us lived there seamlessly for five days. It's on a tree-lined street and walking distance to all the restaurants and Riverwalk. We walked everyday to and from coffee shops and restaurants. The home is historic, with all of the modern amenities. We would come back and also recommend to others. O'Connor House offers the best accommodations in Wilmington!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thank you so much for sharing your home. The photos do not do it justice! Every room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Absolutely everything we needed to cook wonderful family meals was provided. The outdoor space was beautiful and we enjoyed eating on the patio in the evenings. The walk to through the historic district to the River was so pretty and relaxing. It was nice to stay in a comfortable home so close to the beach without having "beach traffic". The only thing that I would add is some blinds for the door in the master bedroom to make sleeping in a little easier. Thank you so much and we look forward to staying at the O'Connor house next summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
