This comfortable house was built by the owner and family as a retirement home. The area is very private and inspirational. Several generations of family come from the Bernard area
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Benefits of this home include secluded and picturesque setting yet only 5 minutes from Southwest Harbor and Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor and many of it's activities and varied restaurants are just 20 minutes away. There is a private rocky beach, shore path, and private pond on the property. There are countless outdoor activites available as well as several nearby restaurants. It is a wonderful spot for a honeymoon or creative type person as well as families. Children are welcome. MDI free public transportation available 1 mile from house. National Park guarded lake swimming and sandy beach 6 miles away, take a shore walk or road walk to Thurston's Lobster Pound for lobster straight from the boat and local seafood favorites at Bass Harbor, superb opportunities for photographing buffs. Property is approximately 20 minutes from the Park main gate areas. In Southwest Harbor, shopping, galleries, drug store and medical and even mountain climbing are 5 minutes away. Take the Swans Island ferry, which travels in front of the house, to Swans Island for a unique outer island experience, Rent kayaks, sailboats or just take a mail boat from Southwest to nearby coves and islands. Experience fishing for lobster with local fisherman offering tours
