  Just back from a great vacation in Panama. Stayed at this apartment which has the charm of a modern apartment within a Spanish Colonial House. What you see in the photos is just what you get.The apartment is just two doors down from Plaza Bolivar a tranquil Plaza during the day that transforms at night when the owners of four excellent restaurants bring out their tables and chairs to serve their clientele. Restaurants are abundant all over Casco Viejo and the food is great at reasonable prices. You really can stay all your time just visiting the historic sites nearby, leaving Casco Viejo for the occasional trip for shopping or sightseeing in Panama City and the Canal Zone (which was what we did). Security is excellent as you are really next door to the Presidential palace as the building in front is part of the buildings that comprise the compound. You can walk at night in the surrounding streets without any problems as there are policemen almost at every corner. There is a massive reconstruction process all over Casco Viejo in the pursuit of restoring its charm to all the buildings in the area. Those of us that live near Old San Juan can just imagine how it will all be when all the process in finished but in the meantime this apartment and its surroundings is just excellent. The owner made arrangements for the taxi to pick us up at the airport and later return us to the airport without any problem. Service was great and the owner was just a call away in case we needed any information. If you want the charm of Old World with the amenities of today while in Panama City, look no further. This is the place to stay. We checked the area before going to Panama with Frommers and everything was just as it appeared in Frommers. Excellent just plainly excellent.

  We loved it! Even when the power went out shortly in the Plaza (which is rare by the way) , noone skipped a beat. Waiters waited, diners dined, musicians sang, candles glowed and lit up the Plaza. This area is frozen in time and not to be missed. To own an Iphone while admiring the backgrop of an an area built in the 1500's is surreal. The locals loved the translation app! Some of the nicest people you willl ever meet. Visit Blain at Super G gourmet deli/ grocery for lunch and breakfast. We formed instant bonds with the locals. The apartment was clean and cool. Rick and Cristina took care of all of our needs. The location is superb. Steps from the Palace, and dining as well. Filled with history, but offers all of the modern amenities. Transportation is a breeze thanks to Rick and his staff. Will definitely return. Susan and Carl Hinebaugh

  I love the location that Tribe is located in, Casco Viejo, the Spanish Colonial part of Panama city, and to be more specific the exact location of Tribe could not be better in this area. The owners are great and all of the staff is more than helpful and responsive to problems. The water went out for a bit because the city was doing some repairs and the staff did everything to make our stay comfortable, deliver drinking water, patch our shower system into a water supply they had on site, could not ask for more. Great place and great location.

  Excellent and Outstanding: We truly enjoyed our stay in Casco Viejo (San Felipe), Panama City, Panama apartment property #351142. It was the perfect place! We found that the pictures were exactly as the apartment looked, except the actual apartment was bigger than we expected. The furniture and art within created a wonderful atmosphere. Everything was there that we needed when we got there. The building was historic and renovated. We loved the balcony, which reminded us of New Orleans. The view was great. We had an immediate response to our inquiry about renting the property and for any email concerns or questions which made us feel very happy, secure, and confident in our arrangements. We were provided with maps of the area via email and a contact person who was fluent in English and Spanish in the area. We believe that the rates were exceptionally good and although he could charge much more, this is one of the things that helped us choose this apartment over others. We enjoyed the Casco Viejo environment, which is very artistic and rich in history. There are many things to do there. In this area, we enjoyed an interesting and helpful tour, viewing the museum, great restaurants, and the beautiful crafts for shopping. People were helpful and courteous. Taxi drivers were always there if needed. In summary, we would definitely like to stay at this apartment again and highly recommend it to others as well.

  The apartment is wonderful! The owner is wonderful! I truly appreciated all the time put in to make our stay the best possible. You cannot be in a better location, it is steps from the best Plaza, it is also in a very secure location, there is a guard station steps away for the Presidential Palace. The owner was so gracious that he left us a gift basket upon arrival with drinks and snacks. The views from the balcony are much better than the photos, its a great place that I could not recomend more, it is a very private and quiet apartment. I will always use this apartment on my trips to Panama City, it is large, very clean, comfortable, has the best location, the owner is completely professional in handling his rentals, the price is Great for the apartment. It is walking distance to the Public Market and the Mercado Mariscos, which became our favorite place to eat lunch.

  My husband, myself, and our adult daughter spent a week in this ample and comfortable apartment right behind the presidential palace in Casco Viejo. The furnishings met all expectations, wireless connection (so vital to all of us!) was perfect, and the kitchen was well equipped. Plus the owner arranged for great airport pick-up (a huge van capable of swallowing all our many suitcases without any problem) and later drop-off at a rental car office for the next segment of our Panama adventure. Rick also was immediately available to answer any and all questions and provide whatever information we needed. Three thumbs up!

  The apartment is wonderful! The owner is wonderful! I truly appreciated all the time put in to make our stay the best possible. You cannot be in a better location, it is steps from the best Plaza, it is also in a very secure location, there is a guard station steps away for the Presidential Palace. The pictures do not do it justice, it is much better, the kitchen is a wonderful large eat in kitchen, I had a very comfortable dinner party. The views from the balcony are much better than the photos, its a great place that I could not recomend more, it is a very private and quiet apartment. It is very simple to get a taxi for a few dollars to the main areas of Panama City, it is very easy to stay in Casco and, do business in the city, it was easy to step out the door and get a taxi at 7:30 am. I will always use this apartment on my trips to Panama City, it is large, very clean, comfortable, has the best location, the owner is completely professional in handling his rentals, the price is Great for the apartment, it was my best stay in Panama City ever. I have rented other apartments on Balboa, this is 100 times better! Wishing you the wonderful stay I had! The owner sent my deposit back immediately after my departure.

  If this is your first time in Panama City, please trust me: Casco Viejo is the place to be. Tribe Apartments are located in the safest and most happening area of this charming UNESCO protected site. This was our first visit to Panama and we weren't sure about the right places to see and things to do. So we decided to experience both sides of Panama City. We spent our first night in a hotel downtown Panama City and despite a spectacular ocean view, we were quickly disappointed by the noise and poor customer service. After visiting Bocas del Toro, we returned to Panama City, where we stayed at Tribe in a tastefully decorated and spacious apartment with a great view. Although the general level of customer service in Panama is not that high, we were very impressed by the first-rate customer service that we received from Rick and Maria Cristina. They also facilitated arrangements for transportation, restaurants information, mobile phone, etc. The apartment was equipped with a complete kitchen that we didn't really use because we could easily walk to all the restaurants in Casco or take a 5 min cab to downtown. Panama City has many excellent restaurants and from this location we were able to have a complete gastronomic experience of all that the country offers. Next time, I'll try to make use of the kitchen a little bit more since it's located only 10 min away (walking distance) from the Fish Market. Fishermen deliver their catch by boat daily so everything is fresh! I look forward to returning to Panama City and plan to stay here every single time. Thank you again to the Tribe Team for all of the little details that made our stay a memorable experience!
