Beautiful two bedroom/two bath Condominium in Welaka, Florida. This unit is on the third floor, near the elevator, and features wood floors and vaulted ceilings. Both master and guest bedrooms have queen size beds and seperate full baths. The 'River Room' has views of the pool and magnificent St. Johns River. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, dishes, flatware, cookware and glasses. There is a washer, dryer and dishwasher, and all linens are included. This unit is tastefully decorated and fully furnished.
Sportsman's Lodge is the newest condominum complex on the St. Johns River and has a private marina with a dedicated boat slip for each condo, which is included in the rental. The complex has a pool, lanai/tiki hut and outdoor grilling area. Although there are 75 total units on the property, since most owners use these as weekend vacation getaways, there are seldom more than 25 units occupied at any time, and the complex is very peaceful.
Welaka is located about 10 miles South of Palatka, and is a small quiet town, yet is only 40 miles from historic St. Augustine, and less than an hour from Daytona Beach. The area has something for everyone. If you like to fish, Lake George, Cresent Lake and Rodman Reservoir are all nearby and accessible by boat. For wildlife viewing, the pristine Oklawaha River is less than a10 minute boatride away and offers views of Osprey, Bald Eagles, Herons, otter, alligator, and the occasional Black Bear. Boat rentals and fishing charters are available locally. Welaka has public tennis courts and a public boat ramp. Hiking is available in the nearby Welak State Forest and a golf course in only a few miles away.

My husband and I stayed here February and March 2013. The Condo was very clean and tastefully decorated. We loved our stay here, would reccomend it to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

About the owner: i am a retired Circuit Court Judge and presently serve as the Chief Homicide Prosecutor for our circuit. We spend our weekend fishing or cruising the river with our children and grand-children.
