Ken and Debbie, Thanks again for sharing your spot "at the end of the rainbow" with our family! Your warm smiles, hospitality, and freindly advice made our vacation mare fun than we could have imagined. It was great to have a "home" to come back to after a long day exploring the island with our 18 month old daughter. She loved the chickens, horses, doggies and lizards. Thanks Ken & Debbie for making us feel welcome without at all interferring with our privacy. The well appointed accomodations although a suite in your home made us feel nicely isolated in what Jan referred to as a tree house. We looked straight out to tree branches that were teaming with all kinds of exotic birds. It took a bit of getting used to having all the windows opened and the trade winds gently blowing through, the crowing roosters and barking dogs quickly got tuned out when the songs of so many birds took over. I still couldn't tell the difference between the wind rustling the trees or the sound of rain but it was all good. Walks around the bowl were a treat. This accomodation is close enough to get to the beach or shopping whenever you want but far enough away to provide peace and relaxation I would highly recommend this VRBO to any family or friends. Captain Andy's sunset dinner cruise was a highlight. The food and service was over the top. I would recommend booking directly with Captain Andy's in Port Allen. What ever you do don't book through Hawaii Discounts. They screwed up our booking date and took no responsibility for it. Even though it wasn't Captain Andy's fault they fixed it and made feel like very important clients.If you want to experience a farmers market go to the one in Koloa Mondays at noon at Ann Knudsen Park. The pictures in this listing do not do it justice! It's a sweet little private apt in a lovely setting. The accommodations and amenities are more than you could ask for and the views are icing on the cake. It was clean and fully stocked. I loved that the owners recycle and compost. I was able to recycle, just as I do at home. It's a good location for accessing most of the island I loved my stay there and hope to return.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Debbie and Ken, Thank you for sharing your little bit of paradise with us. Valley View is a perfect spot to enjoy all the island has to offer. Unexpectedly, my favorite part of the trip was the rain. It reminded me of summers in childhood, so unlike the cold winter rain we get in San Fransisco. Throw the windows open and listen to the deluge- wonderful! We also especially enjoyed how dark the sky got at night-and the beautiful stars(& shooting stars!) Jan 8 2005- Ken and Debbie, Your place is charming. The nighttime quiet is immediately noticed- no cars, aircraft- just the flickering shake of the nearby palm leafs. Everyone should make a point to gaze up at night to the abundant stars! The place here is simple and cozy, yet everything you need is here- including gracious hosts. Jan 4, 2005- The apartment was in a great location, convenient to either sides of the island. Awesome shower, lovely view, nice and quiet, much appreciation for the conveniences that were here when we arrived (dish soap, soap, garbage bags, coffee), and the use of the laundry. Well worth it! Mahalo to Ken and Deb for the aloha and their adventurous spirit. We were in good hands that were willing to take care of us on our Kauai adventure!
