We just returned from a 3-night stay at Bruce and Dee's Log Cabin in Pollock Pines. What a beautiful and private setting amongst a forested hilltop. The log cabin is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, and the house is immaculate. This home welcomes you from the minute you walk through the door. The views out of every window are spectacular, and it was a special treat to see the wild turkeys who enjoy visiting every day. It is so quiet on the hilltop that the only sound at night is a resident frog. This cabin offers rest and relaxation and all of the comforts of home. Bruce came by to greet us when we arrived, and during our stay, when the weather turned to unexpected rain, Dee called us to let us know where we could find more firewood … very gracious hosts! If you are looking to get away from it all, this cabin is for you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Cabin is clean, well maintained, and very private. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to someone looking for a quiet get-away location. We were looking for a place to escape the Bay Area yet not having to drive too far. I knew nothing about Pollock Pines but it seemed more down to earth than touristy Placerville which is quite nearby. We were somewhat limited in choice because of having a dog we wanted to bring. Dee & Bruce (owners) were very courteous and professional to arrange a reservation with. If you truly want to get away and be in the middle of the forest with no one else around, go here! You drive up a fairly well-maintained dirt road through national forest to find your remote cabin with gorgeous views. Technically "off-the-grid", you will still have hot showers and adequate heat from a wood burning stove and solar powered electricity. The place was immaculately clean and tastefully renovated. Unfortunately there was a major rain storm while we were there so we didn't get to explore the woods much, but it really didn't matter much given the scenery just outside the windows. The storm made us a little nervous about meeting fallen trees or washed out roads in the morning but it was fine in the end. You might feel a little most comfortable having 4WD or at least AWD (like us). There is no wi-fi and weak (but consistent) cell signal at times, but I think even the most tech-addicted kids they would find plenty to do by exploring. The place is also stocked with games and videos for the evenings. The kitchen also has everything you need to cook. It was a very relaxing and decompressing vacation. We look forward to returning.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Loved the cabin from the time we first saw it on the outside. Inside was very clean and light just like pictures showed on website. Directions/map was right on, and the log cabin signs were very helpful .Made it to some of the area wineries and everybody was so nice and helpful with some attractions to go see in the area. Swam in Jenkinson lake one day and was very inpressed on how clean the lake and grounds were. So nice to be able to see the sky full of stars, again. Will be back again with friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was a wonderful Log Cabin, with beautiful scenic area. Very clean and everything and more than you could want or expect. We loved every moment we were there, which was not quite long enough. The atmoshere is wonderful, not a complaint here. Abbey our god loved it there also, though a littel afraid in a new area. Thank you Dee, sorry we arrived a little early. Had no trouble finding the Cabin. Thank you for everything, Chuck n GailRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
