This single story home is located near Tavares Florida “America’s Seaplane City” on the Harris Chain of Lakes, over 37,000 acres of Central Florida’s best fresh water game Fishing and Boating is right outside the door. Only 41 Miles from Walt Disney World and the rest of the Central Florida attractions makes this one of the best sportsman / family locations in the state.
The House: The Master Bedroom suite has a queen bed, 36 in. LCD TV, and private bathroom with large walk-in shower. 2nd Bedroom has twin beds and bathroom with tub/shower is right outside the door off the hallway. There is also a queen sized Murphy Bed if needed. The kitchen is equipped with newer appliances including side by side refrigerator, glass-top range with oven, over the range microwave, dishwasher. Double wall ovens make this kitchen a gourmet’s delight. All pots & pans, dishes, flatware, utensils, towels and linens, basic paper and cleaning products are also furnished. The great room features a wall to wall exposed brick wood burning fireplace with custom made mantel, crown mouldings and is furnished with a leather stationary sofa, cocktail ottoman, and two recliners, a new 40” flat panel HD LED TV with satellite and a DVD player. The 18’ X 20’ screened lanai has a Jenn-Air grill/range, and a 4 burner Gas Grill, and a 36” TV. An open deck leads to the boat dock. Five ceiling fans, central heat & air conditioning will keep you comfortable. The dinette area can be used as a game room, as most times people eat on the lanai. There are a variety of books and board games that you are welcome to use. The patio has a glass top table with 6 chairs, suitable for dining, as well as a Poker Table Top custom made to fit the table for those late night poker games. Wireless internet is included. There is plenty of privacy, a privacy fence on the right, canal with green-space on other side, empty lot to the left.

The Area: The home is located near Lake County’s rolling hills on a quiet street in Lake Harris Shores Subdivision that is surrounded by canals and lagoons that lead into Lake Harris, (ranked in the Top 10 best Bass Fishing Lakes in Florida) and the other lakes in the 6 lake chain, all navagable by boat (Eustis/Dora/Beauclair/Carlton/Griffin). Harris Chain has hosted many Professional and Amateur Fishing tournaments including the B.A.S.S. Elite Series Sunshine Showdown and the Southern Regional College Series. There are several restaurants for your casual dining pleasure located on the lakes which you can get to by boat, including Hurricane Dockside Grill, The Hideaway, Crazy Gator’s, J.B. Boondocks, Buzzard Beach Grill, and Sinbad’s. There are public docks in the cities of Tavares, Eustis, and Mount Dora where shopping and dining is available. And if fine dining is what you want, the Mission Inn is located in nearby Howey-in-the-Hills (7 Miles) or Vic’s Embers in Leesburg, (11 miles).
Golf Courses are located throughout the area, Deer Island CC, Bay Tree, CC of Mt Dora also Sugarloaf Mountain is a few miles away, the highest elevation in Florida, and there is a Crenshaw design golf course there as well.
For Race Fans, Daytona is only one hour away. Bikers are always welcome, enjoy Bike Week, Bike’toberfest and the Leesburg Bike Fest (April) nearby and cruise the Green Mountain Scenic Byway one of the best rides in the state.
Explore the Dora Canal, a natural wonder that is like a jungle cruise, on your way to Mount Dora (by boat). Mt Dora with it’s quaint shops and restaurants and it’s many festivals make it a favorite destination for Florida visitors. This is a great location for families on Spring Break or any Florida vacation.
If you like wildlife, there are many species to watch for, such as Alligators, Anhinga (snake necked duck), Great Blue Herons, Great White and Snowy Egrets, Ospreys, Hawks, Limpkins, Eagles, and others, who make there way up and down the 70’ wide 5’ deep Bass Canal.

We had such a great time, so peaceful with some great rolling hills to enjoy if you are a motorcycle enthusiast. The natural peace and quiet with some of Florida's greatest wildlife right out your back door. My friends and family enjoyed fishing right off the dock. There are some nice bass in the lake and the canal of the dock! As Patty's picture can attest to. The neighbors are friendly and very nice. One neighbor offered the girls some movies and popcorn for there pajama party while we boys went out on our bikes for the evening! Thank you for your hospitality.

When we arrived Dan and Barbara were very friendly and inviting. "Great Host's" Our weekend was very memorable and the home was impeccable. I have nothing bad to say, even the neighbors were very pleasant. They even offered the girls some movies to watch while they had there pajama party on Saturday night! Both my son and myself were overjoyed with the house and property. The house was luxurious, immaculate, and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. It was as advertised and MORE! The neigborhood was very quiet. I especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck overlooking the water in the morning with my cup of coffee and watching all the wildlife! The screen room is ideal for evening meals ! The owner was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I would certainly go back and rent this property again and recommend it to others!

For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows: 1. Property. The property is located at: 13326 Country Club Dr., Tavares, Lake County Florida 32778 USA The property is furnished and includes Refrigerator/Freezer, Range, 3 Ovens, Dishwasher, Microwave, 3 TVs, 2 DVD Players. Washer and Dryer in garage, Toaster, Blender, Coffee Maker, Linens, Towels, paper products, cleaning supplies. Jenn-Air Grill /Range on the lanai. Wireless internet access is included. 2. Fireplace: The fireplace is a vented wood-burning. Please do not throw any combustible materials in the fireplace. Firewood is not provided, but if there happens to be some at the property at the time you may use it. Don’t forget to open the damper before starting a fire and use extreme caution, close damper the next day when not in use. Use fireplace only during winter months. 10. Water and Septic: The property is on a well and septic systems. The well is a community well that serves the entire subdivision, so do not waste it. The water is tested regularly and is very safe to drink. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products or other inappropriate materials or items have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to 100% of security deposit. 11. Storms: No refunds will be given for storms. 2004 Hurricane Jean was the last significant hurricane to pass through the area, only minimal loss of tree limbs. 12. Canal and Lake access: The fresh water lakes and canals contain Florida wildlife including alligators, snakes, fish, fowl, turtles etc. Although you may not see any of the above they may be present as in all bodies of water in Florida, use appropriate caution. Do not leave children unattended near seawalls, deck, dock, always use life preservers while boating or other water activities. If you need to use a boat ramp, there is one at the end of the street. Be sure to close gate when done with boat ramp. You are on a canal the leads to Little Lake Harris about ¼ west of the property.

About the owner: I am originally from Maine, where I met Barbara in 1970, we have now been married for over 40 years have 3 grown children, 2 girls, 1 boy. and they have blessed us with a total of 5 grandchildren. We have been full-time residents of Florida since 1985, now live in Longwood about 24 miles from the Lake Harris house. Barbara is retired and Dan works as an insurance agent specializing in senior products.
