This charming waterfront cottage is located on the estuary that feeds into the bay and affords lovely, expansive views from the garden and upper deck of the house. It features a breezy, oversized screened-in, terraced porch that lends itself to socializing amongst family and guests and outdoor dining. You will literally live on this porch during the summer! A full-sized kitchen connects the porch to the living room that features attractive furnishings, a comfy sofa, and occasional seating. An expandable dining table is on the enclosed terrace. Adding to the cottage ambience is a fireplace that summer nights hardly demand but the cool nights of late October welcome. Next to the full bathroom with tub and shower is the master bedroom that has a king bed. Adjoining that is a queen-bedded room. Upstairs a guest suite features two twin beds with a full bathroom that has a shower -all airconditioned
The guest suite has a private deck that overlooks the water and affords beautiful views of the bay and Bible Conference that is walking distance from the cottage. The beach is two blocks from the house. There is the possibility to accommodate two guests occasionally on a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The beach is protected by lifeguards. The house is equipped with WIFI, air-conditioning units, washer, dryer, all major appliances, cable TV, charcoal grill and wireless internet. Off-street parking in a private driveway. Please, no pets and no smoking. No linens are provided, only pillows, bed covers and mattress pads. Cleaning fee of $200.00 is charged to the tenant one month prior to check-in along with the balance of the rental. A deposit of half the term of rental is required at the time of booking as is a signed contract. Saturday-to-Saturday rentals. In at 4 p.m., out at 10 a.m. Reservations to the VRBO website only. About the owner: Caroline Aliette Lechaux, Outindesign, Creative Director of Design and Principal After 20 years in France as a marketing-communications executive and part-time designer, Alexandria-native, Caroline Lechaux, returned to the United States where she founded oUtiNdesign, LLC, a residential design and renovation firm. She creates value through residential creations designing, renovating and decorating. Her renovation and design projects are scattered up and down the East Coast from Maine to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and across the Atlantic to France where most of her work has been in Provence and Paris. Throughout her years in business in France and the United States, Caroline worked at blue-chip companies such as Conde-Nast, Disney, Remy-Cointreau, and Coty, her hobby was renovation. While in France, she restored, renovated, designed, and decorated eight properties. Since returning, she has done four in the United States - three major projects in Maine, Virginia and New Jersey, a seaside Victorian, a farmhouse and a beach house, as well as decorating a Gramercy Hill apartment in New York City. Caroline’s expertise and talent include analysis of the essence of a property, appropriate planning, designing, space re-configuration, job-site management, interior design, decoration, furniture creations, and original material, salvage and antique sourcing. Caroline holds a Certificate of Design Discovery (Architecture) from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a Masters in Business Administration from the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (IAE) in Aix-en-Provence, France, and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Major, History and French Literature) from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Why the Owner Chose Harvey Cedars:
My husband grew up vacationing on Long Beach Island. He was a lifeguard on the island for seven years as a young man. When we married, I passed the 'causeway test', what every potential wife or husband has to go through before wedding. I fell in love with LBI and decided to renovate and work on the island doing beach house design. We'll retire here one day.

I love the beautiful views, amazing waterfront terrace and access to the beach and restaurants. I especially love The Plantation Restaurant - it has incredible food and is a great place for a drink and socializing. The beach up the street is one of the prettiest in the world in my opinion. It is so wide and expansive. It seems to go on forever.
