Use Sermoneta as your base for exploring Lazio and central Italy. You will be welcome to use the large pool that we have arranged for your use at a wine and olive estate (2.5 km). Nearby are fabulous Mediterranean beach resorts, like Sabaudia and San Felice Circeo (20km). Sermoneta is also close to Rome (30 minutes by train) and Naples (a couple of hours by train).

The apartment: Enjoy refined and comfortable accommodation; You will find a brand new and fully-equipped kitchen, dining and living areas with TV and DVD, plus two pleasant bedrooms each with its own bathroom, with toilet, bidet and shower. Your large terrace offers spectacular views over the plain, out to the sea and the Pontine islands. There are table and chairs for outdoor dining, a highlight of the laid-back Italian life-style.
Sermoneta has changed little since its medieval conception, and the enormous fortress of Caetani Castle looms over and dominants the town and the valley below.
This medieval town is also known for the famous 'Ninfa Garden' that contains at least 19 varieties of deciduous Magnolia, along with birch, aquatic Iris and a sensational variety of Japanese maples growing in the eight hectares of the garden.
Today, the castle hosts courses, seminars, and prestigious concerts. In July, there are concerts in the castle by well-known contemporary musicians and orchestras.
The unique historic qualities of Sermoneta live on its Romanesque Cathedrals of S. Michele (XI century), Santa Maria Assunta (XII century, also famous for its frescoes of Benozzo Gozzoli), San Giuseppe (XVI century), San Francesco (erected in XI century by Knights Templar) and the Cistercian Abbey of Valvisciolo (XIV century).
Open air restaurants and bars make for easy summer living. Winters in cosy interiors are an equal delight.
The villages offers year around Festas, and in particular in the month of May, there are concerts every weekend, as well as art exhibits, painting classes for children and much more.

There is a medieval Festa of the Madonna di Vittoria in October, a Polenta festival in January, and other magical events all year long.
Sermoneta thanks for its medieval characterization has been the set for many movies like the Italian “Non ci resta che piangere” starring Roberto Benigni and Massimo Troisi or the American “Silk” from the book by Alessandro Baricco.
Also the film director Franco Zeffirelli (rewarded for 14 Oscar Nominations) fell in love with Sermoneta calling it 'The paris of Italy'.

Sermoneta is amazing, the weather was always good! We spent many time on the panoramic terrace with a great view from Roma's hills to the pontine 's island...the owner is so helpfull, the apartment is cheap and clean...restaurants are very good...and Ninfa Gardens are fantastic!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Sermoneta is a cozy little town on top of a hill with many nice little restaurants. The apartment owner took good care of us and sent by email in advance of our trip a lot of information about the apartment, attractions nearby, beaches, restaurants and other useful information. The apartment was nice with all amenities and rom the terrace we had a wonderful view. We'd love to visit Sermoneta again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

We had and amazing time in Italy, the court a great "home base", very cozy and comfortable to go back to after a long day of touring around. The newly built villa we stayed in was clean, which is a big thing for us and in a great location. The view was absolutely amazing when we were having dinner out on the terrace. The owner was very informative and helped us a great deal, I couldn't ask for better service! We were actually surprised that the price was so reasonable for where we were and how amazing everything was! I must say that we will definitely be returning to stay here on our next trip to Italy, which will be very soon if I can help it!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
